Day of freedom! Extra day off work today! Aren’t the bosses kind?

Am going to make cookies and flapjacks, do general tidying up, might go for a walk.

Morning. I have decided to knuckle down and do some work. I may pinch a flapjack or two though! And I'm sure work won't last long if I actually focus on it.

Lovely and sunny outside, so another walk will be the order of the day, hopefully.

Snow <glares outside> well, only a smattering - just enough to turn shaded pavements into death slides, as it's so bloody cold outside it's not melting unless the sun is on it. On the plus side, 5 past 4 and it's really quite light outside.

I was a saddo yesterday and did my tax return, not submitted yet as I'll give it a day or two and check it over before pressing that button. Am due £14 tax back, better than having to pay anything 😊

Afternoon. We had overnight snow and it’s very cold, so it hasn’t moved. I had a couple of jobs to do and my car is treacherous in ice so DH took me in his car and the outside temperature was showing as -5. Lovely and sunny though. Definitely lighter in the afternoons.

Evening all. We had the lightest dusting of snow after the sun went down. The sunsets have been really vivid the past couple of days.

Work was mostly admin, followed by a bit of gardening - though the sun had gone in by then so it wasn't the warmest! DH was out being cold sporty this evening while DS and I stayed and watched Last Night in Soho - very good film. He has also baked some biscuits this evening. Yum!

Didn’t go for a walk as it was rather chilly. I see wenches were very productive yesterday so 🌟 for you all.

Morning all. It's snowing (proper fluffy flakes) - my footprints on the patio have gone. IdiotKitty is unimpressed and is taking out his frustrations on a scrumpled up piece of paper, which must be killed and pulled to bits. If anyone wants a loan of a paper shredder, I have one that is powered by stupidity and cat biscuits.

We also have no plans - fortunately, given the weather. It's also quite windy so any decent amount of snow will be blown off the fields and into the roads and that will be the end of us going anywhere except on foot (or sledge when DS was little).

Still being lazy - did walk into town to collect the new towels I ordered. Lovely and sunny, which means still icy. Saw Easter Eggs in the shops FFS.

Very pleased I hadn't submitted my tax return, realised I over declared some interest. Am now expecting £34 back, the excitement 😁

Afternoon/evening. More overnight snow which hasn’t melted at all in spite of sun all day. Have had a cba day, but did get out a knitting project from last year which was finished and pressed so I’ve started to put that together. Had to stop to be a cat bed.

Yay for new towels and tax refund Fancy.

Evening all. Snowmen have been built, and collapsed, and rebuilt. Rounders got played with snowballs (no running, it was all about trying to hit the snow with a random stick). Cold snowy fun was had (though not by the chickens, who were even less impressed with the weather than IdiotKitty was). Then a short walk, plus lots of sudokus and online wormholes.

DH is watching darts, but the sitting room is the warmest in the house, so I'm stuck with it.

Hurrah for darts and tax rebates.

I’d crocheted a small blanket yesterday but I wasn’t happy with it, although it looked okay. So I undid it all and made it again but using a slightly different pattern. Looks much better now. Hope your knitting is looking good Apricot.

Morning all. Light smattering of snow overnight, and a golden sunrise this morning. Then I went back to bed because why not? No actual plans today. Not planning on going out (unless the road thaws a bit), so probably tidying and starting to take decorations down. IdiotKitty is bored, and pouncing on scraps of paper that he's already torn off the main piece.

Tons of snow here. Couldn't open the front door yesterday but luckily I could squeeze through the patio door, good thing I lost some weight

New years eve was a nightmare with me mostly fuming about fireworks the new tenants apparently thought was a good idea to use on a farm with animals. Fräsan was so scared. Things took off in the group chat the next day where one of the landladies, who is a very temperamental Dane, told them off, so don't think it will happen again. Bloody idiots though.

Afternoon. Cold and sunny with the odd flurry of snow. We’ve fetched the trees and decorations down and packed them all away, so that’s it for another year.

How inconsiderate of your neighbours WW. I don’t like fireworks but there weren’t any close by on NYE and those I heard didn’t last long. Misty isn’t bothered by them.

All decorations that I can find are down now, though every year I find one sculling about that I'd missed in the tidy-up, so there's bound to be a random one somewhere.

No snow today - just clear skies and sunshine. We went out for a quick session at SportingActivity (cue various people telling me that they don't often see me there). The roads are like skating rinks, so getting DS to the bus tomorrow won't be fun.

Morning update - OMG the hyperbole. The local traffic news cut in while I was driving DS to the bus - apparently the road was 'just passable'. This would be the road that I was currently driving on. There was frozen snow in the middle of the lanes, but perfectly drivable and two lanes at all times. Whoever reported that would have had conniptions during 'Beast from the East' when the road really was 'just passable', with single lane traffic in some places and drifts blocking half the width of the road. Honestly, it's embarrassing how much people lose the plot over a bit of snow!
It was -3 when I was on my way home - didn't actually check when we left, but suspect wasn't much colder.

Yes, the overstating of weather conditions is very annoying. When I was little the winters were much harsher, ice on the inside of the windows and no central heating, but school never closed even though we had outside toilets which were completely frozen. Different world now.

We had a bit more sleet and hail and a bit of snow. I did some work. I taxi'd DS about and did some work, and cooked tea. That's been today. I also decided to have water instead of hot chocolate, to be healthy. Then I ate most of a wrap of M&S lemon and lime jaffa cakes. <le sigh at self>

I might decide the road where I live isn’t passable because of the snow. Not sure a millimetre, possibly two, would convince anyone though.

Outside toilets at school Apricot?! My grandma and grandad still had one when I was little and I’d often go in there rather than the inside bathroom but that was because it was a novelty and not subzero temperatures.

Temperature going up soon anyway here so soon it will all be gone - hurrah!

Morning all. Lovely sunrise this morning - lots of peachy pinky purply hues, and then the sun was bright orange when it came up. Bloody cold though. The car couldn't decide between -8, -7 or -6 (yes *Wicked, I know, but that's cold for us!)
I tried doing the frozen bubble thing that I saw online, then the bubble develops lovely frondy fern patters of frost (like this www.facebook.com/reel/1430940208605407), but mine just went dull and milky - I obviously need a better mix of washing up liquid and water! Though looking online, white and milky seems more normal that pretty patterns. anyway. Cold. IdiotKitty is bored and being a pain

We had outside toilets at my primary school. But all the outside toilets in the family had turned into garden sheds by the time I came across them.

Evening. Daaarrkk. Cooollldd. More snow overnight and no sign of it going. I've had enough of it now.

Went to Sainsbury's earlier and as DH was with me forgot some items I wanted. I think it's because he takes charge of the trolley and I'm not concentrating.
