Morning all. Raaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiin. Met office says it should stop about midday, in the meantime it feels like 'back to bed' weather..

And it was, because I typed that and then went back to bed Grin

All sorts of domestic chores to do, microwaves to research, etc etc.

Hope everyone's having a good day and staying warm!

ApricotCrush · 23/11/2025 16:36

Afternoon. Nice day, but still very cold.

Shame about the boots and shoes. No, it's not worth mending anything these days, they want you to buy new. Angry I can no longer wear high heels as I've got neuropathy in my feet so I've had to buy a load of flats.

We're watching The House of Guinness on Netflix with James Norton. It's by the same writer as Peaky Blinders and it's good, very atmospheric with a touch of humour.

Have a good evening all.

Evening all. A new microwave has been bought, though not much else has gone on. It did stop raining at midday though, which was a relief - except then driving on wet roads with the sun shining off them was not the most pleasant. Ho hum.

Hope everyone had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 24/11/2025 06:46

Morning wenches.

Heavy rain on and off all day. Finished another project aside from sewing on a button and pressing it.

Hurrah for new microwave! Not so much for the sun on the rainy roads.

Saw the trailer for the Guinness thing Apricot and it did look very good.

Worky work again. Le fun.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/11/2025 10:40

Morning all. WobblyCat has been off to the vet again for a change of / extra medicine. She is a wobbly money-pit Sad. I also need a new car tyre (more money-pit woes)

Outside is dry, but cold. We had quite a hard ground frost overnight. I'll be putting washing out on the line to get less wet shortly - I think expecting it to dry might be somewhat unrealistic, though a better chance that yesterday. Also, work.

ApricotCrush · 24/11/2025 16:38

Afternoon. Showery day and very cold. I did a Sainsbury shop this morning followed by a walk round the road and managed to avoid getting wet.

Yay for new micowave Helen, but Sad for the wobbly money-pit and new tyre.

Hope work hasn't been too bad LetUs.

Also hope Fancy is alright and WW is enjoying her trip.

Evening wenches.

Oh Helen 😔 poor WobblyCat. Everything crossed.

Cold here too, but no rain (not that I can remember anyway).

Work was made busy again. Honestly, I don’t know what’s got into them all. NC and I are considering getting one of those ticket machines they used to have at the supermarket deli counters.

LetUsPrey · 25/11/2025 06:53

Morning wenches.

Dark, gloomy, blaaaaahhhhh.

I am imagining Fancy still luxuriating in her bathroom, and Wicked going mad in M&S.

Suppose one had better get on.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/11/2025 08:56

Morning all. I put the frost cover on my car last night - hurrah for remembering! Last night it rained. Hmm Ho hum. Also, our old microwave, in a fit of self-awareness has started working to try and avoid the tip Hmm.

Wobbly cat has a change of drugs which I have to try and remember. Two of these, or one of these and two of those? Which one starts today? Just as well I whatapped myself in with instructions while I was with the Vet.

re. I want to imagine Fancy is luxuriating in her bathroom, I'd like to imagine a Dynasty style set-up where Joan Collins was always barely visible under a mountain of bubbles. But I think it's showers being done, not baths, so it would be more of a Dallas style stepping out of the shower and "oh, it was all a dream!" Which isn't very luxurious really. So we'll pretend it's a bath.

I tried to go mad in M&S at the weekend, but forgot until we were leaving the retail park (having done the microwave investigations - the range in-store was somewhat lacking, in the way that the pope is somewhat catholic) and the traffic was dire so there was no way we were going to try and stop/re-park etc.

Today there are reports to read through and boring stuff like that.

Have a good day all.

FancyFancy · 25/11/2025 13:11

Afternoon

No shower-induced dreams here Grin I'm still finding the updated bathroom really weird - I like it but it looks so different!

Had a lovely mini-meet with ww at the weekend, always great to spend time with a wench. DD met us after a bit too & then she came back with me for fish & chips, pink fizz & some TV.

Am now back at work <sighs>

Hope the new meds are working for WobblyCat & that everyone mages to stay warm & dry & not bored witless with work....

ApricotCrush · 25/11/2025 16:09

Afternoon. Lovely sunny day, but still very cold. I did a washload of some bedding from the caravan and put it on the line. It did come in not as wet as it went out, but really I don't think I'll bother with the line until next year, particularly as the sun is too low to reach it now.

Lovely that you and WW had a meet-up Fancy. Smile

Hope WobblyCat is alright.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/11/2025 21:38

Evening all.

That sounds like a very nice weekend Fancy, even if your bathroom is discombobulating Grin

Today has been a mix of work and de-moulding a couple of damp patches on the ceiling and dealing with cat vom <side-eyes at IdiotKitty>, plus parents evening and general stuff. Also some rain, so I'm glad I hasn't done any washing. It will mostly dry fine on the line still as long as there's some wind - that was my problem last time. Oh, and the new hoover has arrived - exciting!

Hope everyone has had a good day and LetUs's work hasn't been too annoying.

LetUsPrey · 25/11/2025 22:05

Evening wenches.

Work was the usual extravaganza of crap. Whatever.

Hurrah for Fancy and Wicked having a meet up! Excellent

Washing line is away here too until next year.

My dream bathroom would involve a humongous bath with loads of different taps like the one in the Prefects’ Bathroom in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 😁

New hoover is exciting. The new air fryer arrived today, as did DH’s new pillows. Hopefully they won’t end up consigned to the Pillows That Weren’t Quite Right cupboard.

LetUsPrey · 26/11/2025 07:09

Morning wenches.

Urrgghhhh I don’t want to waaahhhhh it’s dark and cold and waaahhhhh. Short day though so I’ll give myself a talking to and get on with it.

Took shoes to a different mender - a chain this time - who could fix them so must remember to collect them today. If I need other shoes heeling or whatever, I’ll go back to the first shop though because trying to support independent shops etc.

Also ticked another gift off the Christmas list so progress there. Might even write the cards, or at least some of them, this weekend.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/11/2025 07:36

Morning all. I didn't put the frost cover on the car last night. So obviously there's a frost this morning <sigh> It's cold out, but quite scenic. Some swans came over just as I was feeding chickens which was nice. Did you have any swan dramas this year Apricot?

In 'unboxing' news. I can confirm the hoover works well. But we bought the wrong microwave - model number was different by one and it's missing a dial, which DH wanted. Back it goes... My boot is ready to be picked up, but will have to wait. I think that's about it.

Shock ay xmas cards this weekend. It's a good plan though!

Have a good day all...

ApricotCrush · 26/11/2025 17:01

Afternoon. Nice day but still very cold. I got some Christmas cards this morning from a local shop, so I might have a look at doing some at the weekend. There aren't nearly as many to do as there used to be. We received quite a few less last year; I don't know whether people have stopped sending them or what? When do you cross people off the list?

Sadly there were no swans on the lakes up the road this year Helen. However, a new couple have been seen recently, so if they stay there might be some cygnets next year.

Yay for new appliances (even the wrong one) and pillows and mended footwear. Gosh, we're living the life!

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 26/11/2025 20:10

Evening wenches.

Mended shoes collected. I shall test them tomorrow as we have rain forecast.

Still very chilly today.

Re Christmas cards, mother has a list of names with columns for sent and received and then ticks or crosses as relevant. If someone gets a cross one year, then they’re off the list. Ruthless I tell you.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/11/2025 22:03

Evening all. It has been a long day of 'meh' and yawning at work, followed by a training session after work that I'd forgotten about until DF phoned me about a lift to it. Shock Tea has been... unusual. (Scrambled egg, a cake an apple and a banana. And chocolate, obvs Grin).

Fingers crossed for swans next year Apricot and hurrah for retrieving the shoes LetUs - I've had a text to say mine is ready. My mother had a Christmas list like that too, I've yet to be organised enough to do that, so I can never remember if I need to be ruthless with anyone.

Hope that Wicked's travels went well and she's home safely with the contents of M&S food hall stashed away Grin

LetUsPrey · 27/11/2025 06:57

Morning wenches.

“Yes, I’m travelling with my invisible friend, this is his suitcase and his name is erm,, Mark Spencer” - just an idea for you Wicked. Hope you’re having/have had a smashing time.

Seems a perfectly reasonable dinner to me Helen 😁

Noticeably warmer this morning. More shopping to do on the way into work.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/11/2025 08:53

Morning all. Cloudy and mild outside, and damp underfoot, but not raining at the moment. Not yet anyway.

Another day of shuttling about the place and trying to work inbetween beckons for me.

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 27/11/2025 16:27

Afternoon. Cloudy damp day but much warmer. I prefer that to cold and crisp. DH has been on the roof again clearing out some guttering which was overflowing when it rained. He put the car in the drive and stood the ladder up against a wheel so it wouldn't slip. Hmm

I do the ticks and crosses with the cards LetUs but I usually give them two cosses before I stop unless I know they've died of course, which is increasingly the case. Sad

Hope everyone's had a good day.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/11/2025 20:51

Evening all. Nothing exciting going on here. Wobbly cat is unimpressed with her new drug regime and that's about it.

LetUsPrey · 28/11/2025 07:04

Morning wenches.

Oh FGS MrApricot. Honestly Apricot you must be a mass of frets. Clean gutters though.

Come on now Wobbly Cat, it’s for your own good.

For the first time in quite a while it was very quiet at work yesterday. Even resorted to doing some filing for someone whose office is a bit of a tip. I loathe filing.

Shopping was successful. I think I’m almost done, which is very unusual for me.

Back’s a bit sore but it’s Friday which helps a lot 😁

Have great days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 28/11/2025 17:19

Afternoon. Nice morning, but it turned showery this afternoon. I've been doing some boring admin, but I've got a lot of it out of the way.

Poor WobblyCat, hope she's okay.

Hope it's been quiet again for you today LetUs.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 28/11/2025 21:36

Evening wenches.

It went so dark middle of the day, I thought it was time to go home. Sadly not. It threw it down, proper noisy rain, and brightened up a bit. Surprisingly quiet again, to the point where I was actually bored. I won’t get used to it.

Well done on getting the admin stuff done Apricot. Have a ⭐️ and feel smug.

Asked DH should I just give him cash for Christmas so he can get stuff in the sales (seeing as he’s insisting on gifts 🙄). Oh, he says, I might think of something. Well chop chop mate, or Father Christmas will miss you out.
