Got back very late Monday evening. May have bought a thing or two in M&S and Primark. Could hardly close my suitcase

The trip started great with me trying to check in with the wrong airline. "What the hell is wrong??!! Oh, right".

I also managed to trash a display of cookie jars thankfully cardboard at Whittards with the whole shop staring at me while I went "ta da", so not going back there anytime soon

Had a lovely meet up and cake with Fancy and also got to meet MiniFancy

Evening wenches, I am returned! I went away for work and came back today through rail replacement and football fan chaos. In good news I have a new laptop which should be a considerable improvement on the idiot machine I'm currently typing on, which refused to hotspot and left me without internet access <eye roll> Work was also good - I actually met a lot of people who I only know via email as names.

Now it is windy and rainy - moreso that it was earlier when I was playing patriarchy chicken with football fans. (Fancy would have been proud of me - I gave way for no-one but small children.) It's also daaaaaaark, so I'm assuming wind and rain from the sound.

Glad Wicked had fun demolishing cardboard displays and phew for the suitcase closing (under protest)!

I am flomped on the sofa with a hot chocolate now . DH has just come in and is putting sport on the TV. FFS.

Evening. Chucked it down all night and morning, but brightened up this afternoon. I put a colour on my hair this morning, and this afternoon we did more apples. Goodness knows how many trees DH's friend has but they keep coming. Not complaining though.

OMG I'm on the PC and I've got horrible bright red adverts for the Lottery suddenly appeared on both sides of the page. It's horrible, I can hardly see what I'm writing. That's never been there before.

Where was I? Oh yes, glad you had a good time WW in spite of the mishaps. I've never been on a plane by myself, I'm sure I'd get in an awful mess.

Have had a lazy day - was chucking it down this morning so no point in going anywhere. Luckily it cleared up as it was the Christmas market in town, so I pootled over, more food stalls than anything so I bought myself some baklava.

I have a very purry Chonk sat on me at the moment. I think he's hungry - ate his dinner so quickly that he threw it straight back up earlier, just as I was mid phone call with FancyDad. So that call ended abruptly 🙄

I had planned to start on the Christmas cards while watching the Forsytes this evening, but apparently the last episode I saw was the series end. Underwhelming. They have changed so many plot details it's frustrating and there's no-one hot in it ffs

Morning all. DH put washing on yesterday but forgot to get it out last night. I just went to get it out, and found that he hadn't actually pressed the start button yesterday. So the washing properly on now.

Today's plans are tidying (urgh) and a local xmas fair. Also, my toothbrush has died, so I need to try and pick up a last-minute black friday deal if I can find one.

That's annoying re. The Forsythes. I wonder if she changed Poldark plot so much (I think it was the same screenwriter?) Also, we need a word with the casting people re. lack of HBFs.

I have seen reviews that said she went off piste for the final Poldark series and that's why it went downhill, but I haven't read the books so don't know how true that is.

Afternoon. Quite a nice day but I haven’t done much.

We haven’t watched the latest Forsyte series and gave up on the previous one after the first series. Can’t remember why, I think it just got boring.

The penguin Christmas decoration does sound cute LetUs.

We’re going out for a pub meal later with DD &Co as we haven’t seen them for a while.

Bulk of penguin decoration bits knitted but sewing up to be done (my least favourite part). They’ll have hats and scarves and am considering doing them each a rucksack.

Penguin decorations sound fab - do they have little skis as well? I feel that they should .

The Christmas fair was fun, but OMG we got there at the wrong time - traffic was backed up onto the main road with cars wanting to get parked, and it's not like they had a small car park. We got a couple of bits after driving off and walking back from a further car park. Then went home via the Tesco where they had toothbrushes on offer. Also, the new (correct) microwave has arrived, and my new laptop is currently being set up. It needs a fair bit of customisation since the task bar is full of shite that I won't be wanting.

Hope that Apricot has had a nice meal out. (I don't have any adverts on my laptop - possibly because I'm using DuckDuckGo as my browser - it blocks a lot of crap like cookies and pop-ups.)

Evening. Miserable day, dark and rainy. Yes, we had a nice meal out and bumped into a friend of the DCs who used to live in our road. We've known her since she was 10 but haven't seen her for some time and it seemed strange to see her with teenage kids.

Usual work blah. Additional roadworks on the way home. These are on the alternative route I take because a road on my usual route is still closed as those works have overrun. I might have a little cry.

If I make them cross-country skiing penguins, they’d need extra long skis so I’d need four lolly sticks rather than two. How unfortunate 😁

How nice to bump into the friend of your DCs Apricot. It is odd seeing people all grown up and with children of their own when they’ve sort of stuck at a certain age in your head.

Evening all. I started typing and then got distracted.

This morning I had the early morning exercise class and taxi-ing to do, and then most of the morning was gone by the time I got down to actual work. Nice to have blue skies and sunshine, thought it's coooold. I also had another library trip (since I was passing) to sort out the fact that the machine ate the money for my fine without registering it. <le sigh> All sorted though. And DS has had his first proper driving lesson!

We got decorations out of the cupboard yesterday. Or rather, I did. DH has been stringing lights up around the house.

Hope that traffic has been a bit better for LetUs today, and work.

LOL at random extra keys there, I'm not used to the new keyboard. Though in annoying news, there's a very faint vibration to the new laptop so it may need to go back.

Afternoon. Quite a nice day but still cold. It was the last of the garden bin collections today so what wasn't in the bins will have to wait. Most of the leaves are off our trees, but we have a massive oak three doors away and it's only just started and they always seem to come in our direction.

Yay for finished road works and first driving lesson but boo for annoying laptop.
