Evening wenches.

Same here Apricot (iPad, not tan).

Oh Helen, hope the headache bogs off soon.

The day seems to have gone on for ages. Simple tasks at work have been made unsimple by people doing a really crappy job beforehand. Lovely and warm when I left the office though.

LetUsPrey · 29/04/2025 07:19

Morning wenches.

It generally helps when you’re setting your washing machine the night before to finish in the morning to press start as well. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Should be enough time for it to do one now before I have to leave,

Sunny already.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/04/2025 07:42

Morning all. Also sunny here and I should put a load on as well. I got up early because I was awake and had plenty of time for a relaxing morning. Then I logged on and wrestled with a customer complaint form (that was sent doesn't match what was ordered) and not I'd running late. <eye-roll> Headache is still lurking so I've chugged down more drugs, and am heading out to do exercise.

FFS at people doing a bad job which makes things harder along the line. I never sabotage my own work by doing that - nope Hmm Confused Grin

Have a good day all.

FancyFancy · 29/04/2025 09:10

Morning.
Very sunny here, am WFH as I have a live online course. Spent yesterday going for a walk to see a local bluebell wood, absolutely beautiful and smelled divine too. But enough about me Grin

Ouch about DS2's thumb Letus, glad it's getting better.

I get the garden tool excitement Helen, I was eyeing up some telescopic loppers the other day. Where is the new raised bed?

Oh blimey, updates apricot? Wonder what awaits me when I turn in my computer?

It's a psychology/neuroscience Masters ww at the same uni that Anne went to.

ApricotCrush · 29/04/2025 17:06

Afternoon. It's hoooootttt, but I'm not complaining. I hope this isn't our summer. Hmm

I've got a new phone. Smile Well, it's not new; DD has given me an old one but it's still 5 years younger than mine, which won't go onto the internet and is basically useless except as a phone and camera. I'm not bothered about having an up to date one so I'm pleased, although I dread setting it all up.

Bluebell woods are beautiful Fancy. We have one in the village up the road but I always seem to miss it when it's in bloom.

Hope the headache has gone Helen, you do seem to get a lot of them.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 29/04/2025 20:29

Evening wenches.

The bluebell woods sound beautiful Fancy. 😁 at “enough about me”

That form scenario sounds very frustrating Helen. Hope the head’s better.

Good luck with the setup Apricot. But why does everything have to be such a faff <nto>?

I’ve put a wash on to finish in the morning and I have definitely pressed start.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/04/2025 21:37

Evening all. Work has been done, tea has been cooked, bed is calling. The headaches seems to have sodded off at least. I am a martyr to my headaches <nods wisely> I think they've ramped up with menopausal shite.

Forgot to put a wash on. Ho hum.

The new bed is on the veg patch Fancy - it's an attempt to grow strawberries and not have them die of neglect. It may or may not work. Telescopic loppers are ace, though ours is getting a bit wonky and doesn't always cut - it's a ratchet one too, and is a pain to click on to the next level.

The concept of a new-to-me phone fills me with horror. It does feel like it takes me so long to get it set up and get used to using the stuff it can do, that by the time I get there, the phone is starting to creak with age. It's bloody annoying because it's nowhere near full capacity, but mine is getting slow to respond.

I should go and prep my life for tomorrow, but I have a cat on me and can't be arsed moving.

LetUsPrey · 30/04/2025 07:19

Morning wenches.

Remembered the washing this time.

Hope the headaches ease off Helen.

I suppose I must get on with the day.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/04/2025 07:38

Morning all. Very misty start but it's almost completely burnt off now. Probably a good day for washing but I didn't get that ready last night so it will wait another day - BoringOfficeJob calls.

KillerKitty is enjoying life now the plants are all growing in the garden - it makes it easier to ambush small furry/feathery squeaky chirpers. Alas poor goldfinch Sad (though at least he ate it and didn't just wander off to kill something else.

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 30/04/2025 17:42

Afternoon. Beautiful day. I'm getting used to this, it's like being on holiday. I do jobs in the morning, have lunch and then we go outside for the afternoon. DH has gone back to golf yay but he's only putting for another couple of weeks.

The washing basket is empty so I shall have to go round looking for washing tomorrow.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 30/04/2025 20:51

Even wenches.

Washing basket very nearly empty here and nothing else needs washing. Seems such a waste of good drying days though.

Your day sounds so good Apricot, I do the same on my early finish and at weekends - jobs done first, nice stuff after. Excellent news re MrApricot and golfing.

Good to hear KillerKitty isn’t being wasteful.

Work was aarrgghh.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/04/2025 21:46

Evening all.

Good to hear that MrA is getting out from under your feet back to the golf Apricot. Do you want to come and sort out my washing for me? <side-eyes at overflowing laundry baskets>

AArghh-work can get in the bin LetUs. Mine was boring but not argh.

Tonight I am mostly tired.
<crawls off to hayloft>

LetUsPrey · 01/05/2025 07:15

Morning wenches.

Sun is already shining.

Treated myself to a nice body scrub yesterday that I wouldn’t generally buy but I’ve got a gift card to spend (one of those generic ones) so why not. Bought the body scrub, forgot to use the gift card. Muppet. I’m sure I forget more things than I remember.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/05/2025 07:30

Morning all. The mist has burnt off again and there's washing in the machine - hurrah!

LOL at the scrub LetUs - you deserve it. I've just been getting dressed and thinking I was really hungry still. That would be because I hadn't actually eaten my breakfast yet. Hmm Grin

FancyFancy · 01/05/2025 09:10

Morning.
Yesterday's Bergerac episode had Celia Imrie, Dandy Nichols and Phil Davis - making up for the previous few episodes.

Very sunny here too - will admire it from inside an office.....

ApricotCrush · 01/05/2025 18:02

Afternoon. Still very warm, but it's clouded over now.

DH went on a Speed Awareness Course this morning. Hmm He actually found it useful. Although he does most of the stuff suggested he realised that there are road signs that he wasn't aware of, so we're going to get a new Highway Code and read up on it.

I've looked for the old episodes of Bergerac, but I don't think we've got the channel.

Grin about the gift card LetUs. That's the sort of thing I'd do.

LetUsPrey · 01/05/2025 20:02

Evening wenches.

Rather warm in the office today. Continue to be astonished by the steady stream of people who come to chat to NC and I, usually about how incredibly busy they are, how they have so so much work, how they’re totally swamped. And yet, they still have time to stand chatting for 20 to 30 minutes whilst NC and I listen whilst continuing to work.

Keep forgetting to look for Bergerac of old.

New Highway Code is a good idea Apricot.

Have been reading Conclave. Sort of glad I missed it at the cinema so I could read the book first. Having to make myself not rush it - it’s very good. Also, once I’ve finished it, should anyone need any expert commentary on the upcoming real life conclave, feel free to ask 😁 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/05/2025 23:20

Evening. Had v. disruptive day of taxi-ing about the place and opticians (again) and stuff. So am cramming a bit more work in. Hmm

Was absolutely roasting today, so I was glad of the north-facing home office keeping me cool, until I had to go out and do the taxi thing.

DS has a 'learning to drive' book, which came via a friend, He has read part of the first chapter and reckons he could pass a theory test easily Hmm

LetUsPrey · 02/05/2025 07:16

Morning wenches.

Urgh at disruptions Helen. And 🤨 at MiniHelen.

Sunny already but supposed to be a little cooler today. Fine by me.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/05/2025 09:12

Morning all. There's actually lots of high cloud here, so not too hot and it even had a half-hearted attempt to rain on my way home from the college run. It consisted of a few speck on the windscreen - enough to trigger the wipers and make the windscreen all smeary and in need of a wash.

Hurrah for friday... was working late last night so am a bit wabbit today.

ApricotCrush · 02/05/2025 17:45

Afternoon. We had a storm last night which wasn’t forecast. It went very dark and started to drizzle then there was a huge flash of lightning and a clap of thunder (I thought of Fancy). Then it threw it down for the rest of the evening. It was very welcome as everywhere was terribly dry. Nice again today but a bit cooler.

Conclave sounds interesting LetUs. I remember there was a lot of Vatican stuff in The Thorn Birds about choosing cardinals and suchlike.

DGD’s boyfriend has recently passed his test which filled DS with horror, as there was a fatal accident not far from where he lives involving four teenage boys. We haven’t met the boyfriend but he seems sensible.

Have a good evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 02/05/2025 18:50

Evening wenches.

I’m so tired. Felt non-stop today.

I’m sort of glad DS2 doesn’t seem interested in learning to drive. DS1’s only been having lessons recently too.

Stayed quite cool today, could have done with a cardigan.

I think I’ll have an early night once I’ve collected DS2 from SportingActivity.

FancyFancy · 02/05/2025 20:05

Evening, also a bit cooler here with more cloud - some of it looks a bit threatening, but then nothing happens <has storm envy>

Am still working as day got interrupted - I finally have a new dishwasher - yay! It is running as we speak <looks forward to sparkly dishes>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/05/2025 22:55

Evening. Warm enough here to dry a load of washing on the line, but lots of cloud cover. Wish we'd had a dump of rain (before I'd hung the washing out). TFI and all that...

Hurrah for the new dishwasher Fancy - excellent news Grin

Agreed re. the terrifying concept of teenagers driving - never mind the reality. Confused

LetUsPrey · 03/05/2025 07:19

Morning wenches.

Corrrr at new dishwasher!

Early start today as we’re off to NearbyBigCity for a university event for DS2. Thankfully it’s sunny and dry but not too warm.

Have lovely days wenches.
