Morning all. It's bright and sunny and I should hit the garden, though I could quite happily curl up on the sofa and watch a film.

Safe travels for LetUs

ApricotCrush · 03/05/2025 17:09

Afternoon. Much cooler today and the sun has gone, but it was very nice while it lasted.

Enjoy the dishwasher Fancy. I hardly ever use mine, I should really.

Hope the university visit went well LetUs.

Evening wenches.

Visit went well. I think DS2 enjoyed it and thinks it’s the one for him (results dependent of course), although it’s impossible to tell with him and he’s not exactly forthcoming. Did some shopping on the way back to the station but that was less successful. My legs are very achy now as I’m clearly very unfit. Got a headache now too. Woe etc.

Hope any gardening went well.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2025 22:00

Evening all. We had quite a lot of cloud about today and I was thinking it might rain at one point, but no such luck. IT did cool right down this evening though and the wind is def. on the chilly side. Anyway, gardening has been done (despite 'help' from next door's chickens), and more will be done tomorrow. I'm a bit tired...

<lobs asprin at LetUs - much easier to spell than paracetamol>
<lobs HBFs as well, for good measure>

LetUsPrey · 04/05/2025 06:48

Morning wenches.

Thanks for the drugs Helen (and HBFs).

Quite dreary outside but I’m hoping it stays dry, at least until I bring the washing in.

Usual Sunday ahead which is fine. No surprised, nothing extra thank you.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/05/2025 09:36

Morning all. Sunny and cloudy here - we have just had a smattering of rain - enough to send the patio blotchy and get my hopes up, but apparently that was it for now - it will evaporate off before it sinks into the ground (or the water butts).

Today there will be more gardening, and that's the extent of my plans.

Have a good day all. (With no surprises.)

ApricotCrush · 04/05/2025 16:05

Afternoon. Pleasant enough day but I’m back to winter clothing as it isn’t very warm although we haven’t got the heating on.

DH had an attack of the housework this morning; once he starts he can’t stop so that was very welcome although the windows are in dire need of a clean.

I set up the ‘new’ phone this afternoon and it was surprisingly easy, everything transferred from my old one without any trouble.

We’re watching The Feud on Channel 5. It’s…. different, but at least I can understand what’s going on.

Afternoon wenches.

I've been to a garden center and bought quite a lot of flowerplants, but they're still in my car due to stormy cold weather, even hail.

Psychology/neuroscience sounds really interesting Fancy.

As usual I'm late in discovering a TV show, this time Silent Witness, I've started watching season 26 and it's really good. Too bad no earlier seasons are available here.

Ooh Thorn Birds, I had a huge crush on Richard Chamberlain when I was younger Grin

Hope everyone has a nice day Smile

LetUsPrey · 04/05/2025 20:01

Evening wenches.

Gone quite chilly here too.

I bet your garden’s looking great Helen.

Think I’ve seen the trailer for The Feud. Might give it a go. There’s something called I, Jack Wright that I might watch too. Trevor Eve’s in that one.

Silent Witness is excellent Wicked. Much prefer the series with Emilia Fox rather than the much earlier ones.

I was going to say something else but it’s gone completely out of my head. Ah well.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/05/2025 20:48

Evening all. I have gardened my little socks off - potatoes are planted and a second flower bed is looking vaguely presentable.

Richard Chamberlain - def. hot in the Thorn Birds. He was Aramis in the film TM. Silent Witness with Amanda Burton as the lead - I remember reading a review about how every emotion she acted was 'concerned and [actual emotion]', which made me laugh. Obvs, this was years ago, when Amanda Burton was the lead.

There were a couple of light showers today as the clouds have gone over, but nothing useful.

We're watching Andor, It's good, but lots of strands to keep track of - tricky when MN-ing as well Grin

LetUsPrey · 05/05/2025 07:02

Morning wenches.

Totally agree re Richard Chamberlain. I think after The Thorn Birds had been on (which prompted me to get it from the library and read it), they showed the repeats of Doctor Kildare. Gosh he was proper old school Hollywood gorgeous.

Sun is out already so that’s nice. Off to see DS1 and his girlfriend and the kittens today.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/05/2025 10:27

Morning all. Cloudier today, and windy, but still some occasional sun. No idea what our plans are - more gardening!

Enjoy the kittens LetUs (and DS1 & GF - but we all know what the main draw is here Wink)

ApricotCrush · 05/05/2025 17:04

Afternoon. Cloudy here but no rain. I've been industrious today and cleaned some windows and some light fittings. I'm now knackered.

I read The Thorn Birds before the series came out and thought Richard Chamberlain was just perfect as Father Ralph; he was just as I imagined him. I've watched it many times since.

Love Silent Witness too, but never watched the earlier series, only the ones with Emelia Fox.

Hope gardening and kittening went well.

LetUsPrey · 05/05/2025 20:21

Evening wenches.

Speaking of The Thorn Birds, I watched a series with Bryan Brown in it recently called Darby and Joan. Very enjoyable.

Kittening went well. We got there in time for them having a bit of a mad hour which was lovely, and then they snuggled up in their beds on the cat tree and went to sleep. DS1 and his girlfriend were also fine 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/05/2025 20:47

Evening all. Sun and wind and no rain here.

Not as much gardening happened as I'd planned, but we did have a beach walk and scones at the cafe. Then I came home and flomped on the sofa, because fresh sea air is v. tiring.

Awww at snuggly kittens. I was playing with IdiotKitty earlier and then realised that my sleeve was covered in blood from over-enthusiastic claw punctures Shock Oops. IdiotKitty is not snuggly when he's in batshit mode!

LetUsPrey · 06/05/2025 07:09

Morning wenches.

Beach walk and cafe sounds a perfect way to spend the day.

Sunny here and temperatures picking up again because why not when the office beckons again after a bank holiday weekend.

Suppose I’d best get on with the day. <hides in cupboard>

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/05/2025 07:21

Morning all. cloudy outside and tepid. I could do without work, but ho hum. It will be fiiiiine. Yep.

<stuff Aramis in the cupboard>
<Leans against door>
Nothing to see here, move along...

ApricotCrush · 06/05/2025 16:30

Afternoon. Nice sunny day, but the cold wind has returned.

Awww at kittens. Misty isn't snuggly, she doesn't like being held but is happy to be stroked on my lap.

Hope everyone's had a good day in spite of work.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 06/05/2025 21:21

Evening wenches.

Work was manic, again. Rather tired for work reasons rather than HBF reasons.

One kitten likes to be cuddled, the other is like Misty and doesn’t but will sit on your lap.

Must have an early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/05/2025 21:39

Evening. Not too cold here, but not especially warm either.

Work was workish, and I didn't get onto one project that needs my attention, so that will mean more work to be done later this week. Argh, etc. Lots of watering in the garden this evening. No rain forecast for at least a week apparently. <le bake>

LetUsPrey · 07/05/2025 07:18

Morning wenches.

Similar at work Helen.

Quite cloudy but I’m putting a wash out once it’s done. No rain forecast here either.

Hoping that’s as exciting as the day gets, although I do have the dentist after work. Hope that’s boring too.

Hsve lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/05/2025 07:58

Morning all. Late night catching up with work, and an entertaining few minutes on a shared spreadsheet with someone who was also on catch up - we had a conversation in adjacent spreadsheet cells. Have just had to carpet clean due to cat vom, so running late now...

Have a good day all.

FancyFancy · 07/05/2025 13:34

Afternoon

Had a lovely weekend away with an old schoolfriend, including going with DDad to see FancyMan play at a festival. Got home yesterday & spent the afternoon on bottom-of-the-garden-project & have a very sore arm now. Also have a stinking cold <sigh> Am looking forward to home time already Grin

Aw at kittens & Misty - Chonk & Floof were pleased to see me when I got back, Chonk spent the evening on my lap & Floof was snuggly at bedtime. Friend that I stayed with has two cats & a dog. One cat is very mild-mannered & gets bossed around a bit by the dog - he's taken to joining you when you go to the loo where ha gets to sit on your lap in peace..

ApricotCrush · 07/05/2025 17:08

Afternoon. Cloudy all day here but not cold. I did a Lidl shop this morning and got some birthday cards from a local shop. Lots of birthdays this month.

Sounds like a nice weekend Fancy and aw at Chonk and Floof, and friend’s cat.

Commiserations on cat vom Helen and hope the dentist went well LetUs.

Evening wenches.

One of the cats have a bit of a wild night last night Helen?

That sounds such a good weekend Fancy. 😁 at the cat escaping to the bathroom with people for some peace. We can all relate. Booo to stinking cold.

Thought I was doing well with buying cards in advance for the two big birthdays this month, but I’ve realised I’ve forgotten two others.

Dentist did not go that well. Two crowns (which to be fair have been there for a good long while) need replacing. I don’t need both kidneys do I?

Am watching ChimneyWatch, waiting for the smoke from the Sistine Chapel.
