I have sort-of had a lie-in - sporadically interrupted by yowling cats. So I gave up and got up, but I rather wish I was still asleep because I'm tired. <whinge> On the plus side, we have sun, and the rain isn't forecast to arrive until this evening, so I should really get out and be productive - the spend tomorrow processing all the plums and tomatoes that are ready. And tidying the house. Or I could just slump on the sofa.

Afternoon. It’s rained for most of the day, sometimes very heavily, so we haven’t been out, but as we’ve run out of meals we’re going to the pub later, so I hope it doesn’t chuck it down then.

We’re coming home tomorrow as DH’s car tax runs out and he can’t seem to renew it on his phone. The weather’s crap so it doesn’t matter.

Has been very rainy this afternoon - I have been very dull, doing a few chores & sorting out some finances and ignoring the terrible whiffs that waft my way occasionally. I suspect that one of the cats <side eyes TheCatFormerlyKnownAsChonk> has a dodgy tummy. He seems ok within himself & is hassling me for dinner, so I shall see how he goes & just hope the culprit isn't Floof as long haired cats & dodgy tummies are a traumatic combination.

I sprinkled some bicarbonate of soda in the drum Helen and did a 90° wash which seems to have improved matters. Apparently first use of the soda crystals can increase the smell because it brings all the gunk out or something. Anyway I bought another bag of soda crystals anyway in case it’s not gone properly. By the way, don’t put the bicarb in the detergent drawer. I discovered this on the internet after I’d done it. Doesn’t seem to be any damage 🤞🏻

We’ve had rain from early afternoon and it’s super windy now. Summer! No thunder though. At all.

I’ve watched some Lord of the Rings films and am now continuing with Blood and Treasure. Very enjoyable and rather silly and Bonnaire - remember him - pops up every so often.

Evening all. I have been pulling/digging up nettles and have rather unpleasantly tingly wrists. Didn't get round to doing much else though - the plums and tomatoes are still in the fridge. I also did adulting and tried to sort out financial stuff <fist-bump with Fancy> - stymied by having lost a password and they're going to resend stuff by post <eye roll>

Do you put soda crystals in the drum too LetUs? I know I have some somewhere but I couldn't find them last time I looked.

We had rain this evening, and there was thunder last night to the East - I saw the sky light up a couple of times, but didn't hear anything so it was a long way off.

Honestly, in my deluded little brain I posted this morning. <eye-roll> Today has been much more visibly productive, in terms of plums and tomatoes being picked, apples being stewed, potatoes dug and bean picked. Then I sliced into my thumb prepping the potatoes and not everything has ground to a halt and the manshapes are in charge of cooking which I sit with my hurty thumb .

Today has been dry and sunny and windy. Hope that Apricot is home safely with no traffic chaos and LetUs has a good night out, that the suspicious cat whiffiness has stopped, and that *Wicked has had a good weekend.

Morning all. Nice and sunny outside, but it was quite cool this morning feeding the chickens.

Glad to hear the comedy was up to scratch LetUs - the discombobulating dreams can FRO though.

Thumb is a bit sore and I've been wearing marigolds to keep it dry. Woe is me, etc etc. Today's other exciting news is the car is off for it's MOT. Fingers crossed - I'm not aware of any issues since I got the slow [puncture fixed.

Afternoon. We got back last night with no problems on the roads. Coolish and showery here. I’ve got loads of washing but haven’t done any as the forecast wasn’t good. I’ve spent most of the day food shopping and putting stuff away.

We haven’t had any thunder at either location Fancy although much has been forecast. Hope TCFKAC is alright.

Great to have a good laugh LetUs, but weird dreams not so much.

What we did have today was thunder <whoots> It was the middle of the afternoon, so not particularly dramatic, we did have some absolute downpours so the garden is looking fresher.

We had some thunder today - I heard a rumble, DH saw lightning, and there was a very heavy shower. Also, the car passed its MOT - hurrah. Though there are some advisories so money needs to be spent. Other than that, work. Also 'meh' at failing to get DS to think about college stuff. FML,etc.

It was a stand-up gig Fancy. In fact, 🙄at self for not having said who it was. It was Bill Bailey, who we’ve seen before and he was excellent and thoroughly hilarious on both occasions.

Work was fairly average. Traffic on the way home has been awful both evenings so far this week.

Evening all. Today's 'Oops I forgot to post this morning' was brought to you by "Why are you here? Hasn't very early morning exercise class started?" Followed by a rapid exit to early-ish morning exercise class, a ricochet into work, and then a day of stuff.

At least work was mostly productive, and the Manshapes are you being sporty this evening, so I've had a quiet evening in watching a RomCom with George Clooney and Julia Roberts - predictably entertaining nonsense.

We had several heavy showers today, so just as well I did no washing - glad that Apricot got stuff sorted between showers. Is it still the bridge roadworks causing chaos LetUs? . Also for Wicked - summer colds are shite.

I think it’s a combination of roadworks plus back to school and work re the traffic Helen. Can’t do anything about it other than try to be patient with it I suppose.

Morning all. It's wet and windy, so the drive to work will be tedious. Also, IdiotKitty is disgusted. And booooored. He's insisted that I open two different windows to check if they have different weather

Afternoon. Oooooo Fancy, we had a proper thunderstorm at lunchtime with torrential rain and everything.

This led to the Drama of the Day. It seems that the overflow pipes from the water butt were stopped up and the rain had backed up onto the flat roof and found a way through into the lounge. DH found it when he returned from golf, I was completely oblivious. It had dripped through the ceiling and one of my curtain swags, onto a coffee table and then the carpet and underlay which were absolutely soaked. DH got a lot of it up with Henry hoover but we’ve left it up to dry out properly. Thank goodness it didn’t happen while we were away.

Ah - the best thing about a deluge is that you can identify all your blocked gutters and downpipes We've had loads of rain at work, but not so much at home. I ended up staying late because I saw no point in walking to the car in a downpour and then trying to drive in it as well. I'll bank the extra hours and leave early on Friday. (Theoretically.)

That was lucky that the leak didn’t happen when you were away Apricot (as you pointed out 🤦🏻‍♀️). Good that it seemed to be a simple fix. Blocked gutters always reminds me of Mrs Swettenham in A Murder Is Announced when she’s asked what she was doing at the time of a murder says (something like) she was either turning the heel of a sock or clearing out the gutters with a broom handle 😁

For such clever animals, cats can be a bit silly with the “is it different weather over this way?”

Work was quite crap. I had intended to get an early night but no.

Much rain here too, the lawn has perked up already it's nice to see some greenery.

A fairly dull week all round really, mostly work & some chores - DD is supposed to be coming over tomorrow for tv, fish & chips & crap tv
I did notice that a new series of Only Connect started a few weeks ago, so I am catching up on that, very enjoyable even if I did woefully on the first episode.
