In other news, it's hot and sunny, though I think there was a tiny bit of rain last night and some distant rumbles of thunder. Not actually sure what the forecast is.

Both cats are flaked out - long may it stay that way. IdiotKitty brought in a dead rat last night - at least it was dead, but he was turfed out with it again.

Morning all. Warm and sunny. Today will involve work, tidying and packing. And chivvying DS who has done no homework or looking into universities, and displays no sense of urgency about anything other than playing on the x-box and seeing his GF. Argh! Etc. (I just know we're going to get to the end of the holidays and he's going to have a last minute to rush to do everything that he could have been going gradually during the holidays. FML.)

Afternoon. Very hot and sunny. I did a wash load which is now put away, put a colour on my hair and I don’t have the energy for anything else.

I’ve got a lovely little electric fan which DH got from I think Temu on the recommendation of DGS and I’m taking it around with me.

Gosh that all sounds horribly familiar re MiniHelen. We (by which I mean I) realised many many weeks after the recommended deadline for student finance that DS2 hadn’t made his application, despite reminders etc. 🤞🏻it comes through in time.

In that heat Apricot that sounds like plenty.

Work was a load of bobbins but I’m looking forward to the weekend. Baking another cake tomorrow morning, same kind as last week, and then we’re out again from late afternoon.

Work was workish - I got a 'mandatory training' email which I've swerved by pointing out it's for people with responsibility levels well above my pay grade, and I'm not wasting 6 hours of my life on it. Also have managed to arrange to have a week off and come back just as another colleague heads off, so have sent her an email of questions to answer while I'm off next week, and I just hope that the resulting email from her will make sense or month-end will be messy.

In other news, washing has been done - fortunately two loads, since DH said he wanted something washed for the weekend, and then was concerned when I put the washing on this morning because he hadn't put whatever it was in the basket to be washed. FFS. It went in later with the bedding and got baked on the line.

Of course, this means the beds aren't made, and I still need to pack, so I ought to crack on with sorting that out.

Morning all. Much packing-related flailing going on here. Though I did most of the packing last night, which means this morning has involved racing round the garden picking blackberries and plums before they go over.

Also, properly bonkers dream - for the sheer level of details. I started off channeling MrA - up a ladder on the roof of the house checking the batons which the tile rest on - that resulted in me falling through the roof into the loft. Someone from work was also present (why?!) and gave me a pack of plastic document wallets to scatter on the floor to keep any rain off. And then the entire end wall of the house fell down (everyone was outside at that point) so half the bedroom went, etc. Dream me was decidedly unbothered by this, possibly because dream me was aware that whatever that house was, it certainly wasn't my real life one.

Also had a second dream with central HBF - though thinking about it, he wasn't in in much since I was reading a book and talking to a friend (about football?! WTF?) while HBF was busy talking to someone else in the second hand bookshop (where he used to work - see? all the details). When we came to leave I thought I'd better pay for the book I'd been reading since it had got a bit dog-eared, and it was £40 - dream me was shocked (it wasn't even that good a book) and the HBF said he's pay for it. We left and that was it.

Now I must go and finish packing!

Afternoon. Still hot and sunny but with a coolish breeze which kept it from being unbearable. I went out to do some jobs locally this morning and this afternoon I’ve been doing a pedicure. Why is it that my arms and my feet seem to be getting further apart? It’s becoming increasingly difficult to reach them.

Rain ww? Rain? Everything is very crispy here, there is a pleasant breeze and the temperature is much better at night now, but dear god it looks like a 1970's tv show out there - so brown.

I'm having day of catching up with paperwork and finances. Well, an afternoon - I faffed around all morning DD was here Friday night and for dinner last night, so we had a couple of nice relaxed evenings. TheCatFormerlyKnownAsChonk & Floof have been getting much braver after having DDad here for 4 weeks which is very sweet. Still ridiculously easy spooked though - earlier I moved a sachet of lavender flowers so TCFKAC recoiled from my hand which presumably smelled funny <eyerolls>

Afternoon. Beautiful day but I haven’t been able to go outside as we’ve had DGS as his Mum and Dad went out to some wine-tasting thing. Then DS came round with his DCs so it’s been a bit hectic.

Yes we definitely need some rain. A lot of our conifers have brown in them which is worrying; I don’t want to lose them as they give me privacy in the garden.

It's strange, although we watched it before, we both have little recollection of all that happened. I mainly remember Marchal and Claudine the doctor who was killed off.

Evening all. We have been at Alton Towers and I'm totally knackered. And my head is still a bit spinny. I also want a dentist style 'I was brave today' sticker for some of the rides which were well out of my comfort zone It was mostly overcast but not cold, which was actually rather pleasant for a day of sitting in the car, and then schlepping round between rides/standing in queues.

I can't imagine why you remember Marchal Apricot I did enjoy Versailles though - entertaining daftness with an attractive cast.
