Morning all - remind me not to announce that I haven't had a headache for ages would you? #Day3 - knocked on the head with drugs again, but I could have done without waking up to it.

Also proper sunshine here, and frantic house tidying because we have a mini-meet with Madame and family dropping in on their hols. e.g. It would be good if they could sit on the sofa which I currently covered in detritus from post, books I'm reading, sudoku, etc etc. DH has gone to get some DIY stuff which he's been saying he'll do all week

Afternoon. No sunshine here, cloudy all day, but not cold.

I've just been cutting up some chicken breasts for a batch of curry. I hate doing it, it makes me feel ill, but I won't have to do it again for a few weeks. Urgh!

Fab barbecue despite the early efforts of a couple of rain showers that sent everyone scurrying inside. Fortunately the barbecue hadn’t been lit by that point and the rest of the evening was lovely. Bit tired though this morning.

Usual Sunday ahead with added bonus of helping DH clear out the loft as we’re getting new insulation this week. Fun times. This will be accompanied by “I’ve been saying for ages this should go” etc etc like I’ve deliberately not gone up there by myself and cleared stuff out.

Morning all. Forgot to post last night - oops! It's sunny outside and feels very hot already.

Had lovely mini-meet with Madame, nice meal and mooch on beach. We will not dwell on the nude cyclists that we passed on their tandem - quote of the day from Madame - "Those saddles will need disinfecting!"

Today we're either out for tea again or hosting a family gathering - not sure which yet. And I need to do gardening - get stuff planted out so it doesn't need (so much) watering while we go away for a few days. DH will have a second attempt at DIY since the shop called him on route to say that the thing he's ordered for pick-up didn't seem to be in the shop after all. And I have an outdoor play to go to this afternoon. busy busy busy!

Good luck in the loft LetUs I keep saying we'll do a car boot with ours, but that involved getting stuff out and then getting up early and deciding how much anything is worth.

Evening. Lovely day, cloudy this morning but it’s gone sunny now. We’ve just been to water DS’s plants as he’s gone to the caravan for a few days.

Hope the loft sort out went well. I’ve never been up in ours for three reasons - a) I’m afraid of falling down the ladder, b) I’m afraid of putting my foot through a ceiling and c) spiders. I would love to have a mooch as there is much that I don’t know the whereabouts of and DH says it’s not up there.

That’s the main thing for me too about the nude cycling - just think it must be jolly uncomfortable, and quite sweaty in the warm weather.

Loft (mostly) emptying went well. There are boxes stacked in DS1’s old room and elsewhere. Some stuff is outside ready for DH to take to the tip. Once the loft’s ready I’ll have to go through the boxes a few at a time. Should be finished just before Christmas.

Nude cykling? That must be ... uncomfortable, ouch

Evening all. We've had a lovely evening with a big family meal. It did mean that I didn't do any gardening, since I spent the day tidying and doing meal prep instead. But still, worth it Bit tired now though.

Morning all. Lovely and sunny here. So I'm at the computer. pfft.

Afternoon. Hazy sunshine this morning and it clouded over later but very warm and the washing dried very quickly.

I just came in from the garden to find DH in a total panic because he’d left all the doors including the garage open and he couldn’t find Misty. She was under my car. Phew!

Glad loft clearing and family meal went well.

Work was very Mondayish. Put that with the increasing heat stuffiness and it was not a fun day.

Managed to clear a few boxes this evening but I’ve only made the tiniest dent in the total.

Evening all. It has been hot today, but I forgot to hang the washing out until quite late, so it out being darked on. To be fair, the duvet cover has been out for days now, getting a sun bleach to freshen it up.

In today's work news, the big freelance job has been pretty much finished bar the paperwork, so that's a relief.

WobblyCat is currently asleep giving her feet a good wash next to me; IdiotKitty is out somewhere, but I'm sure he'll be in later. DH is watching cricket #tedium

I miscalculated the time for when I wanted the washing to finish this morning. Should be another 10 minutes or so. Make that another hour and 10 minutes. I’d wanted to get another one done and out before I go to work. Flipsake.

Afternoon. Gosh it’s hot, 31 degrees here. I had to go out earlier for a routine blood test and did a Lidl shop while I was out and I’m now shattered. DH is still painting but he’s on the north side of the house so isn’t in the sun.

Hot and stuffy here. Got the washing timings wrong again. Clearly I have a problem with counting and time. Last two times I’ve got it wrong. Doesn’t really matter because there’s plenty of nice days for me to get it done but I’m annoyed with myself for being stupid.

Another half-arsed and partly wrong set of instructions of something that needed preparing at work. Same person. Fucking bored of it.

Evening all. Warm day, but I didn't notice too much being on the north side of the house. DH was complaining that it was 27 inside and he was roasting.

Motivation was vaguely found today - started getting my teeth into a piece or work so that was good. Though it turned out that a fairly important email that I'd sent yesterday had gone into someone's junk folder - oops!

Well.............we finally have progress! Stepmum has moved to residential care & DDad is back home - he went on Monday. Didn't know what to do with myself for the rest of that afternoon. I hadn't dared hope that she'd allow herself to be moved so when we received the news there was a flurry of activity so BIL could take DDad home and then....nothing to do for once. Most discombobulating.
I mean, there was, and still is, a tonne of stuff to do, but you know......

Boring is massively underrated Apricot. Embrace it. I am being boring by knitting a fire engine and watching Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. I particularly like Kevin Costner being thrilled to be back in Englaaaaannndd and making it from Dover to Nottingham on foot in a matter of hours 😁. The best bit is obviously Alan Rickman.
