Got soaked going from car park to work and then just had to sit there, damply. Brightened up by home time but was still windy. As I said though, nowhere near as bad as other parts of the country.

Have been trying a new crochet technique. Felt quite smug because I cracked the first part of the thing I’m making. Next part though was much more fiddly and the smugness drained away very quickly.

Manshapes have had a successful day at SportingActivity and managed not to get drenches in the downpour that we all had this afternoon. DH was absolutely knackered and we had pizza for tea.

It's sunny but windy here, and there's a chicken shouting outside my window... I have been to shove one chicken off the egg laying spot in the flowerbed, to let the one who wants to lay get in there. So now peace is restored!

Afternoon. Nice day. DH went to cut down some conifer branches which were overhanging the road along our garden and some tree fellers (yes, there were three ) who were working in the road came along an offered to give him a price and we ended up having the tops lopped off as well as it did need doing. They did it straight away and cleared up all the mess, so that’s a job DH won’t need to do. Thank goodness.

I’d be grateful if either of them put in an appearance Helen.

Little crochet project finished and I’m quite pleased with it as I’ve learned new techniques.

Being recombobulated sounds like masses more fun than my working day 😁 Serves me right for messing up my own routine this morning. Who knew it would throw me off that much?

Not sure what was making a din outside at about 5am today. Thought it was people laughing at first then realised it was birds or other animals. Wasn’t magpies (are they the way that make a laughing sound?). I’m going with hyenas obviously.

Nothing to report here except that DH has hurt his shoulder playing on DGS's virtual reality headset thing and thinking he's a teenager again saving goals at Wembley or somewhere.

We've just watched the end of S2 of Derry Girls, and now onto 'Grizzy and the Lemmings'

Work was workish, but mostly productive, so that was ok. The usual array of spreadsheets.

The early morning alarm from the hyenas obviously made my brain turn to mush. Left for work - didn’t clear away my breakfast pots, left my jacket behind and left the programme I was watching on pause and the tv on. DS2 wondered what was going on when he got up 😁. Work wasn’t much better.

MrApricot and his shoulder reminds me of when DH hurt his back and had to tell the physio he’d done it by trying to get first place on the hula hoop game on the Wii.

I might do another watch of Derry Girls - there’ll be loads I missed.

WFH today as roof is being fixed.

The last few mornings have been chilly Letus - but then I have various doors and skylights open early because of the roofers.

Afternoon. The queuing chickens were quieter today - silent in fact.

I had a good night's sleep and woke up with a head stuffed with cotton wool, so that's not helpful, and I put the washing in the machine and forgot to actually turn it on. FML. It should be done now and probably breezy enough to dry on the line. I must go an hang it out...

Hope that roofing is gong well Fancy, and the MrA is recovering.

Afternoon. Sunny intervals, but we’re definitely on the turn. It is cooler at night and getting darker, although the next week looks like it’s getting hot again.

Fancy. He’s up a ladder again painting the house. He never stops. I wish I’d got his motivation. One of our neighbours came out the other day and said she was so relieved to see the tree fellers as she feared he was going to get the chainsaw out again. They know what he’s like round here.

Sun, wind, rain, sun, bit more rain and then it tried to be sunny again but clearly couldn’t be arsed. DH is off work next week so I’m hoping he gets chance to enjoy the sun on at least one day and isn’t rushing about fitting in various appointments.

I did get a second load out, but it's out getting darked on, so hopefully we won't have any rain overnight.

DS has had a visit from GF, so he's happy. DH has not done much, I have worked and had a background headache most of the day. Another thrilling day in the life .
