Oh, tomatoes. We’ve got loads but they’re still very green. Should they be turning? DS is coming tomorrow so he’ll have a look at them.

Hope the cinema trip went well Helen and LetUs has decided what to wear for the party. We’re out for a meal this evening with friends.

Evening all. The cinema was fun - the new Superman film is very silly and entertaining. Other than that, not much going on. We've finally started watching the 'Dune Prophecy' series which was in /sky months ago - lots of political manoeuvring and sci-fi weirdness.

Party was lots of fun and I remembered I have a jumpsuit which fit the bill nicely so it was all good.

I watched an episode or two of Dune Prophecy but mustn’t have been in the right mood for it. Started the rest again a few months ago and binged the rest of the series.

Was a late night (by my standards) so I’ll be paying for that until about Wednesday because old.

Usual Sunday except no LovelyMIL as she’s away for a few days. Going to squeeze in as much as I can <nae> this morning, then might have a little rest this afternoon.

Morning. Chilled start to the day (ignoring the usual chores and cat vom clear up) DH is cooking a fry up and things to do include cutting back a hedge which is encroaching on the gutter, and meeting up with DS's GF for a pizza this evening.

Afternoon. The weather's been too hot for a long time now, kind of sick of it. Where's the clouds and the rain?

It was hard to start working again efter the holiday. I'm working next week also and then I have another week off, can't wait.

Visited mum yesterday and we did some shopping and then picked chantarelles.

I vacuumed today and need a shower now since I'm drenched in sweat.

Afternoon. Another cloudy but quite pleasant day. DH went back up the tree this morning to finish chopping the top off. Son-in-Law was here this time to hold the rope and pull it in the right direction. Quite how he thought he could do it on his own last time I don’t know. Anyway, it’s done now. Thank goodness.

Evening all. I've had a nice evening with Pizza and DS/GF/DM, including a walk to a local castle which is mostly cordoned off because it's unsafe, but you can still see lots of it through the fence, and it's fun to spot the very unhistoric RSJs and brickwork that are holding the ruins up

Phew at MrA getting the tree work done safely - hopefully he'll ask for help more often now.

We switched on the radio this evening just in time to hear the winning penalty. I had a collection of excited exclamation marks on my phone from DH

Well that was all a bit tense yesterday! Fab result - watched it with DD and DDad. Earlier in the day DDad and I went to a local steam train centre - getting there seemed to involve driving past endless controversiallargeinfrastructure building sites.

Relieved to hear of no more tree surgery dramas.

The local castle is mostly ruins, but quite interesting to see and read up about.

Chonk would like it known that he is no longer very chonky and in fact is starting to look slinky especially when he stands next to Floof

Afternoon. Nice day. I did a food shop this morning and we sat outside and sudokued this afternoon.

I wasn't really interested in the football, but I watched from the second half and did do a bit of shouting at the end. Great result!

DS finally decided he needed his hair cut, and was then hideous grumpy teen while I was trying to cut it to his specifications <le sigh> And WHY can't he stay on his xbox all night and be nocturnal like his friends (who are also out drinking and partying). He's 17 you know. He should be allowed to do these things. <le sigh> And then he flipped and was lovely and installed Lemmings on my phone and was absolutely delightful and happy because he'd done something nice for me.

I'm out doing the taxi thing for DS midday, so that will be a huge chunk out of my day. (And an excuse to read my book )

Afternoon. It started off raining this morning but has turned brighter now. I went out and did some jobs locally then went a walk round the road while DH took DGS to the golf range.

We've been watching the two series of Marie Antoinette which was alright but not as good as Versailles although produced by the same company. Versailles popped up after the last episode so we're watching that again. I hadn't heard of Karen Pirie, but will bear it in mind.

I gave up with this new series of Marie Antoinette. Agree that Versailles was much better. Just checked re Karen Pirie and it seems series one is only available on Disney+. The current series is ITV.

I also must have an early night, not that I’ll sleep any better but it’s worth a go.

Still no news re parental situation, so we plod on. Very frustrating for all and creates more logistical issues as I'm back at work next week and will be getting my roof repaired too. Speaking of which - if you could send some rain clouds my way, but only to my back garden and not over my roof that would be marvelous, thank you.

Have done a few chores, planted a few plants & gone through the de-flea drama. No-longer-Chonk had to be confined to a bedroom and pinned between my legs in order to put it on him - he crapped himself and growled at me and is now running away and growling every time he sees me <sighs>
