Evening, and eek! at exposed tendons Confused Thank god he didn't go through them! <cwtch> for apricot and family. Good luck with recovery and lack-of-golf Sad

Work has been workish, weather has been dry and cloudy, veering to wet. But also warm. I'm tired and planning an early night.

LetUsPrey · 09/06/2025 21:03

Evening wenches.

That sounds awful Apricot, although I suppose it could have been much worse if he’d gone through tendons. I have everything crossed that he’ll be home very soon and recovering well (hide all the ladders).

Rain for most of the day and all evening. Work was the usual but as a treat I get to listen to my neighbour playing his bastard guitar and singing away. Must be a good couple of hours by now. Lucky me!

LetUsPrey · 10/06/2025 07:09

Morning wenches.

It’s sunny! It’s rained and is still windy but sunshine!

Trying to get organised re various birthdays etc and upcoming holiday. That’ll be why there’s a feeling of rising panic then.

Hope MrA’s home soon if he’s not already.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/06/2025 11:33

Morning all. v. windy outside today, with clouds, drizzle, and the odd patch of blue sky.

Have stumbled across a recent (ish) TB interview which again doesn't mention Musketeers when talking about career to date. Bit baffling. Do you think his agent sends out a memo "Don't mention the war Musketeers"?! https://www.ft.com/content/c21e7623-e7e2-440c-b57a-5613f904d085

Fingers crossed that MrA is home and comfortable as possible in the circumstances.

Are you heading North again for holidays LetUs? (can I come too?)

Tom Burke is taking the lead

Spy, author, cad, space cowboy – the British actor can do it all. In preparation for his next turn in The Seagull, he subverts some classic roles

Afternoon. Cloudy this morning, but it's gone sunny now.

I know WW. It won't make any difference, he'll be up there again because the job isn't finished but hopefully DS or SIL will be with him next time.

They kept him in for another night and he was supposed to see the doctor this morning before being discharged, but he was apparently in another hospital and didn't turn up, so we've got to go back tomorrow for general instructions etc. He's got a very fancy <nto> sling which has to be kept on for a fortnight. With regard to the exposed tendons, he said they were amazing. When he moved his fingers he could see them moving up and down like the strings on a marionette. Fascinating.

Angryat the guitar neighbour LetUs, very annoying.

Will read that article Helen.

Evening wenches.

Not north unfortunately this time Helen. We are going abroad, mostly because DH was whiny about it. I’m sure it will be a lovely holiday.

It is interesting to see stuff like that Apricot but not sure I’d be making an effort to see it and be as interested as MrA was 😁 Sounds like they’ve patched him up well 🤞🏻

😁 At the thought of the publicist sitting in interviews with TB and doing the subtle head shake and glare at anyone mentioned Musketeers.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/06/2025 21:38

Evening.

I have been out at a 'parent information evening' and been utterly traumatised by all the 'next steps/applying for university' info they hurled at us. I assume DS knows about it all already, but he's passed very little on and gives no indication that he's on track for their timescales. Confused <wibble> 'What fresh hell is this?!" etc etc

Now the manshapes are out being sporty so I'm getting more work done <le sigh> Also eating chocolate.

I remember DH being v. grumpy with me when I was with him as he got stitched up from one of his various accidents - I was far too interested in how it all worked and he didn't appreciate my running commentary, apparently. I had a cyst removed once, and said they ought to use the TV on the wall to show patients what they were doing. Their amusement indicated that maybe most people don't want to know.

At least they let MrA out, and didn't keep him in because the Dr didn't turn up.

LetUsPrey · 11/06/2025 07:06

Morning wenches.

Sunny again but I think this time it’s here for the day. It buggered off quite quickly yesterday.

Cysts and things like that I’m absolutely fine with and agree re the televised procedure Helen 😁. All the uni/next steps information is bamboozling.

I assume not all MrA’s power tools are plug in ones which means you can’t cut the plugs off them to stop him using them, like my older sister did years and years ago and followed through on her threat to cut the plug off the games console if her DC didn’t behave 😁

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/06/2025 07:50

Morning all. I'm in awe of LetUsBigSis! The manshapes came home last night and DH further cheered me up by telling me how DS is having a complete wobble about post-collefe as well and doesn't know what he wants to do and wishes he'd done something else for college. Sad

In the meantime, it's warm and sunny so I shall wear wafty clothes... and hide away in a dark pokey little room because I have training meetings all day. More Sad.

Also, my back aches because it doesn't like leaning into the chicken house for the morning muck-out. FML and all that. (Still, at least I didn't take a chainsaw to it!)

ApricotCrush · 11/06/2025 18:20

Afternoon. Nice day, very warm and sunny.

We went back to the hospital earlier to have the dressing changed. It looks a bit of a mess but I’m sure it will be better when it heals. He’s not bothered anyway. We went in my car and omg it’s like having a driving instructor with me. He drives me mad with ‘go in that lane’, ‘you’re changing gear too late’, ‘he’s letting you go’. Yes, I can see. Aaarrggghhh!

Grin at your sister LetUs. That wouldn’t work here, he’s an electrician, he’d simply rewire them.

Anyway, he’s got to go back on Monday to see the surgeon and I’m there tomorrow for a Cardiology appointment. I’m sick of the place.

I love watching surgical stuff. When I had four polyps removed from my cervix a few years ago I watched it on the screen and they told me what they were doing.

Poor HelenDS. I think they’re all like that at some time or other. Both of ours sort of fell into their careers.

LetUsPrey · 11/06/2025 19:32

Evening.

Poor MiniHelen. There’s such pressure on them.

BigSis did not feck about with her DC. Strange how she’s mellowed now she has the grandchildren 😁

Here’s to the healing continuing nicely, and perhaps you getting a reserved parking space. The driving “assistance” would drive me crackers too.

Work was aaarrgghh and then I’ve been to the dentist. One extraction, one temporary crown removed and a bridge fitted. Safe to say I’m a bit sore and am already thinking fucksake about the salt water rinses from tomorrow.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/06/2025 22:30

Evening all. Work was better than expected - the office was dead quiet so I just stayed at my desk for meetings and didn't hide in dark pokey rooms. Also had a nice lunchtime walk.

Aramis says that he can help you out with the salty mouthwash LetUs <snerk> (But also, ouch - poor you!)

LetUsPrey · 12/06/2025 06:56

Morning wenches.

Helen 😁

Sunny again but it’s just pretending.

I know I need to get petrol this morning but I’m sure there’s some other shop I need to go but I can’t remember. I’ve made lists <nto> but it’s not on those. No doubt I will remember about 10 minutes after driving past the shop I need. No matter.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/06/2025 07:49

Morning. Sunny and windy. IdiotKitty has had something small and feathery already this morning. Then came hurtling indoors because something large and feathery (one of next door's chickens) scared him. He literally belted in through the catflap, across the sitting room, over the sofa, down the back and hid behind it, where he growled, before barrelling back across the room and being generally an idiot.

DS was very much not keen to get up this morning. Unrelated, I remembered it's bin day, so that's been out and I'm winning at life! Hmm

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 12/06/2025 15:16

Afternoon. Quite pleasant this morning but it’s raining now.

DH came with me to the hospital for my appointment and was surprisingly quiet in the car, no instructions. Shock. The doctor said my blood pressure was a bit high which wasn’t surprising as I’d just driven for 45 minutes across town in rush hour traffic and then had to find a parking space. That was it really, he talked to DH about the chainsaw massacre more than my heart, but he’ll arrange an ultrasound as I’m supposed to have one annually and haven’t had one for three and a half years. I thought I’d fallen out of the system.

Oooooo, that sounds painful LetUs, hope you’re alright.

Grin at IdiotKitty.

LetUsPrey · 12/06/2025 21:23

Evening wenches.

😁 At IdiotKitty

Strange interpretation by them of annual check up Apricot, although it’s good they’re booking you in.

Mouth still feels a bit sore but I’m sure it’ll be better soon. Been to exercise class tonight so I’m quite tired.

LetUsPrey · 13/06/2025 07:06

Morning wenches.

Very cloudy and quite stuffy. Urgh. Friday though, hurrah!

Suppose I had better get the day underway.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/06/2025 07:35

Morning all. Was out last night at a comedy gig, which was v. funny. But also a bit of a late night and of course DS hadn't done his homework that was due in today <eye roll>

DH is also a year overdue for a check-up of some sort, so the NHS definition of 'annual' is obviously working off some mysterious lunar cycle that no-one else uses.

TFI and looking forward to the weekend here! I plan to do v. little because my back is still sore from last weekend. Fingers crossed for LetUs teeth continuing to improve, and MrA's arm as well.

ApricotCrush · 13/06/2025 15:20

Afternoon. It’s gone quite warm, but mostly cloudy.

Well, after the hecticness (yes definitely a word) of the last few days we had nothing to do today so that’s exactly what we did. I put some washing out and that was it.

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 13/06/2025 20:57

Evening wenches.

That sounds like exactly the kind of day you needed Apricot. And hecticness is definitely a word.

<glares> at MiniHelen which will probably have about as much effect as it does on DS2. <directs Helen to physio area of tavern for special attention> <tae>

Teeth are still sore which I’m hoping is normal. Work can get in the actual bin.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/06/2025 21:36

Evening all. It's been a very pleasant evening - presumably the calm before the literal storm. Also, you know it's been a hot day when the ponies along the road have imprinted their hoof prints in the road as they were led back to their stables.

I'm a bit tired, so I'm slobbing on the sofa and doing nothing.

LetUsPrey · 14/06/2025 07:43

Morning wenches.

Awww at the ponies

Heavy rain overnight. Dry for now but the skies don’t look too promising. Meeting BestFriend this morning, into town early after with DH and DS2, out for dinner and a show this evening. House stuff in between all that.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/06/2025 11:32

Morning all. Sunny and a bit cloudy here.

DS woke us sometime around 1am because he was woken by lightning and though that next door's large evening bonfire was a 'call the fire brigade' fire. We've had just under 2.5cm rain, but the thunder didn't wake me up so I don't think it went overhead. the distant rumbles sounded impressive enough.

Idiot kitty is currently playing 'It the cat flap/out the window', and I have jobs to do (cover fruit before the birds eat it, pick some elderflowers for cordial, cut back plants that have been flattened by enthusiastic rain, don't make my back any worse...)

Hope everywench has a good day.

FancyFancy · 14/06/2025 13:10

Afternoon.

Blimey, it's all happening in here 😱 relieved to hear MrA is on the mend and <cwtches> to wenches dealing with teeth, DC wobbles and medical issues.

Am snowed under with work - working today. Court hearing was postponed, so a bit longer to wait still.

ApricotCrush · 14/06/2025 17:01

Afternoon. We were supposed to have thunder and rain but nothing
materialised. I sat outside for a while but the wind was cold when the clouds came over.

We have DGS here for the night as his Mum and Dad are going to some do which will be late finishing.

That’s a nuisance Fancy, about the court hearing. Hope LetUs’s teeth and Helen’s back are alright.

Have a good evening all.
