Morning wenches.

That reminds me of a graffiti poster I had in the 80s which had something on it like “the army made me a man - oh good if I get them the wool will they make me one too”.

Rain. Again. June isn’t being very June-ish.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/06/2025 08:40

Morning all. Cloudy and light rain here, no improvement forecast for today.

LOL at 'the army made me a man' Grin

I have another round of optician and vet trips (and I wonder why I'm always running behind with work!) One pair of glasses from last week aren't quite right, so that will be another round of visits as well. <le enormous why-do-I-bother sigh> Though at least I'll be sorted for computer glasses now.

Hope every wench has a good day and doesn't get too cold or wet.

ApricotCrush · 05/06/2025 17:51

Afternoon. Cloudy with heavy showers for most of the day. A golfing friend of DH's has given him some tomato plants and this has inspired him to have a go at growing stuff so he's bought one of those pop-up greenhouses and has spent the afternoon erecting it, in spite of the rain. Hmm

I remember those knitted mini musketeers, they were quite clever.

Hope Helen's vet and optician visits went well and LetUs had a better day at work.

Evening wenches.

Oh god, tomato plants and the updates. Thoughts and prayers Apricot, thoughts and prayers.

You should have your own chair at the opticians by now Helen (and a big discount)

I shall ignore work. Have been out to an exercise class tonight. Excellent music but I am very very unfit. Just step over me because I don’t think I’ll be moving much for the rest of the evening.

LetUsPrey · 06/06/2025 07:17

Morning wenches.

Awful sleep and I’m rather achy after that exercise class, but it’s Friday so woohoo!

More rain but again it’s Friday.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/06/2025 07:54

Morning all. Headache arrived yesterday evening. Woe is me, etc. It's still lurking but hey ho. Work will involve arguing with finance bods ("Where's my bloody funding line?!") and trygint o make spreadsheets balance.

To be fair, the opticians are re-doing the glasses free of charge, and fitted me in with the dispensing bod yesterday on the spot (my appointment was to pick some up from a trainee) rather than making me come back again, so I can't grumble too much. Or I shouldn't. Hmm

We have sunshine and cloud this morning. DS has slept in, so he's going to appear shortly in a tearing rush to get out the door. Never mind the fact that he ignored several wake-up calls.

Good luck with the tomatoes Apricot - it can be a whole new obsession!

What you need is a nice relaxing massage after all the exercise LetUs <Decorates with demonstration. Sort of. Any excuse.>

Oh - my images are 'under review'. Well, you're welcome MNHQ Grin

ApricotCrush · 06/06/2025 17:51

Afternoon. Cloudy all day, no rain.

I tried to go and do a food shop this morning but my blooming battery was flat again and I had to wait for DH to come home before I could go. I’m going to have to get a new one. I know I don’t do enough miles to keep it fully charged but it doesn’t help that it has been accidentally flattened on more than one occasion and not by me.

Hope achiness and headache have gone. Have a good evening all.

LetUsPrey · 06/06/2025 21:16

Evening wenches.

I know it was quite dark in the dance studio last night but I don’t recall seeing anything like that.

I think you’re still entitled to a grumble Helen re the glasses. Hope you got your spreadsheets balanced and the headache went.

That’s so frustrating re the battery Apricot (especially when it’s not really your fault).

Have been on SportingActivity duty this evening which to be fair only involves driving there and back and waiting for over an hour in the car. Generally nice and quiet so I took knitting and a book.

FancyFancy · 06/06/2025 21:27

Evening
Has been a very hectic week, but at least some of the hecticness - it's totally a word - is because some progress is being made, we may get a court hearing next week.

So catching up - glasses, knitted dragons, tomato plants and lot's of rain Grin
Much rain here too. I also have tomato plants, they are looking very robust and green - but not very productive in the tomato department yet, just some flowers (not a vast quantity) and some very early stage tomatoes (hardly any) <bores self>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/06/2025 23:04

Evening. Busy day, busy evening, busy weekend
<spins in circles>
<lobs HBFs at everyone>
<collapses in heap>

(Hecticness is totally a word)

LetUsPrey · 07/06/2025 07:19

Morning wenches.

Let’s all hope for a break from hecticness for a little while at least.

Would you like DH to have a tomato plant chat with you Fancy? I’m sure he’d be very willing to give you lots and lots and lots of advice 😁. All completely unnecessary and everything you already know. <squidge> re other issues.

Not raining at the moment but we have a lot forecast soon with thunder at some point. No proper plans other than usual stuff and getting organised for the many June birthdays and a holiday.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/06/2025 16:29

Another post that I forgot to send...

Morning. Urgh. Got to sleep past 12, woke up at 4, 5, 5:30... I'll be needing all the matchsticks (and caffeine) today. Hope that everywench has a good day and the dragon is coming along nicely.
...
I have been out getting slightly damp at a local event (no thunder though). My back aches and I'm heading for a bath.

ApricotCrush · 07/06/2025 17:08

Afternoon. Sunshine and showers here.

DS had taken the tomato plants to repot them as he knows what he’s doing, and he brought them back this morning. I haven’t seen them yet but assume they’re in the new greenhouse. DH has asked what other food I would like him to grow and I have no idea. I just go to Sainsbury’s. There’s lettuce but DS grows too many and gives us the surplus.

It does sound serious Fancy, I hope everything works out well. <cwtch>

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 07/06/2025 20:44

Evening wenches.

This bloody flipping rain and wind. But no thunder like they’d said,

Home grown cucumbers are really nice Apricot, much nicer than shop bought IMO.

Hope the bath eased your back Helen.

DH took DS2 shopping. Obviously I had to do a list following a discussion with DS2 and obviously they’ve come back with lots of stuff but not on the list of clothes he actually sodding needs.

I’ve done two dragon legs. With the rounded foot shape at the bottom and then the long narrow leg part, they’re rather reminiscent of something 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/06/2025 07:32

<arf> at suggestive dragon legs.

The bath was very nice, and I got to read by book accompanied by few rumbles of thunder. Then crawled off into bed after tea & DS staging a re-watch of Rogue One (because I'd finally caught up on Andor - the series which lead up to Rogue One). I also showed them the 'Honest Trailer' for Andor which made me laugh - the prequal where everyone is 10 years older and wiser' Grin

Off to another local event today, but the wind has got up so this one may be a bit tricky. Yesterday was just wet and didn't involve wind. <ntl>

FFS at the shopping skills of your Manshapes LetUs

Don't let him start growing chillis Apricot - you'll end up with random tubs of frozen chillis scattered around your freezer because they produce more than anyone can sensibly eat <side-eyes at DH>. Courgettes are quite easy if you have a big pot, or pumpkins if you have space. Or runner/french beans are quite hard to get wrong?

LetUsPrey · 08/06/2025 08:41

Morning wenches.

<passes extra fastenings to Helen>

Was sunny when I got up, not so much now and we also have wind. Ironing’s done so at least that part of the day is sorted.

Usual Sunday with a meal out for LovelyMIL’s birthday.

Have lovely days wenches.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/06/2025 11:24

Hi wenches.

Three days off in a row, Sweden's national day on the 6th of June so day off work.
Still struggling to give Fräsan her medication, I really need to stock up on Dreamies Hmm
Had a joint appointment with a plastic surgeon and a dermatologist this week, so two people poking in my butt and I also got an appointment to the gynecologist in July. I haven't had this much action in years! I mean, who needs Tinder?! Confused

That sounded quite serious with calling the cops Fancy, hope everything is calmer now ❤

What is it reminiscent of Letus? 😇

Hope everything works out with your glasses Helen. I need to get new ones as well, saving that for my holiday, need to have something fun to look forward to.

Courgettes always reminds me of this fic someone wrote about the Musketeers, I think it was about Athos and some mysterious woman 🤔

ApricotCrush · 08/06/2025 18:45

Evening. Oh dear, high drama at ChezApricot. DH was up a tree with a chainsaw and it seems he’s tried to chop his arm off. He came running in with a towel wrapped round it and said he needs to go to A&E. If he says that I know it’s serious because he usually shrugs injuries off. Knowing what our A&E is like I called an ambulance, not knowing how badly he was bleeding. They came quickly and were marvellous, dressed it, gave him morphine and they’ve taken him off. Where to I don’t know, it depends how busy they are. It might need to be operated on. He’s got his phone so will let us know.

We were going out tonight too LetUs, it was my birthday yesterday. Still, never mind, I’m not bothered about that.

Oh WW, poor you, I hope they can sort everything out. <cwtch> If I remember correctly, I think it was Elk who wrote about the courgette and Athos. Shock

Grin at the dragon legs.

Evening wenches.

Oh Apricot, that sounds very very scary. I have everything crossed for it being nothing awful and you’ve already seen him. And happy birthday for yesterday 🎂

Blimey Wicked you’ve a lot going on. Good idea to save getting new glasses for holiday time - it’s the rock and roll life we all lead. And as if you don’t know what it looks like 😉

Meal out was mostly nice for everyone, but mine and one other were very late coming and then mine wasn’t that good. More importantly though was that it was lovely to get everyone together and LovelyMIL enjoyed her day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/06/2025 21:38

Evening all.

OMG Apricot! I hope that MrA is ok and gets through the hospital system quickly. Sad I mean, we joke about him being up ladders and stuff, but can you just ground him now!? I also hope that he's not too out of it on morphine and can keep you updated!

Sympathies on the prodding and poking <niagw> Wicked. When it your holiday?

<cbf> at the badly timed food LetUs. We've just had a big joint of beef for tea, and home-made icecream. Yum. And also oink - I feel a bit full. Today's even went ok given the wind.

LetUsPrey · 09/06/2025 07:20

Morning wenches.

Hope everything’s been okay overnight Apricot and you’re okay too <squidge>

Another dreary rainy start to the day. It’s very Monday out there.

<helps self to homemade ice cream for breakfast mmmm>

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/06/2025 07:44

Morning. Apparently it's Monday; I woke at 5:30 and had to lie there for a long time trying to work out what day it was and how much longer I had before I had to get up. Could do with it being a Sunday tbh, with no events and a lie-in!

Have a good day all - hope that MrA has been patched up with minimal damage and is home, and that things are progressive smoothly with Fancy's parental situation.

ApricotCrush · 09/06/2025 16:26

Afternoon. Miserable day here too.

Well, they kept him in and he’s scheduled for surgery this afternoon some time. Fortunately he’s in our local hospital where DD works, and she’s off today so we both went to visit him for a couple of hours this morning. He hasn’t gone through the tendons so he can use his hand, but they are exposed and he needs a bit more work than just stitching up. The cut is jagged and needs to be tidied up which is too much for a local anaesthetic. He’s fine but is pissed off with himself for how it happened. He may be out this evening but we’ll have to wait and see.

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

Up the tree with a chainsaw! Confused That sounds scary Apes! Glad MrApes is getting looked after at the hospital ❤
