Afternoon

How annoying helen, hope the vet visit is ok & you have a relaxing time with family.

When are you starting the project letus? I am sure you will rise to the challenge!

Is the cat meds situation sorted now ww?

Speaking of TavCats, nope, never had six monthly check ups, just an annual one when they have their boosters. Misty has two experienced and very attentive owners, you'd notice if something was up & would get her seen to!

Am spending the afternoon catching up on work, between last weekend's drama and continued parental issues this week - had to call the police yesterday - I have time to make up <sighs>

ApricotCrush · 31/05/2025 15:59

Afternoon. No heatwave here, cloudy and a bit windy.

Excitement of the day was colouring my hair and having it cut by DH. He's also been up a ladder retrieving the wisteria which was making a bid for freedom over the roof.

Well done Helen on rescuing the little dog.

Thanks for cat check-up information. I've replied to the vet saying pretty much what you said Fancy together with another observation which they probably won't like. Sorry about your on-going parent problems.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Evening all. We have had sun and cloud and a breeze and general heat. <wilts>

Eeek Fancy - hope everything is ok. <cwtch> I was planning to work as well, but I didn't and will probably regret it next week. Though I did monitor emails via my phone and dealt with last minute deadline stuff.

I'm sure the project isn't over-ambitious LetUs - you are talented and you'll be fiiiiiiiiiine. Break it down into little bits and all will be well. <side-eyes at own unfinished projects>

DH has many plans for tomorrow - shelves to go up, mowing to do, tomato plants to tie up... we'll see what actually gets done Hmm Speaking of garden stuff, I planted out lots of veg, and the poppy which I bought last year and swore at the chickens for scratching up has flowered! It's a lovely deep red ornamental job.

LetUsPrey · 31/05/2025 22:38

Evening wenches.

Lovely day, excellent chat with BestFriend, project started and I seem to be getting the hang of it.

Oh crikey Fancy. Massive <cwtch> for you - as many as you need.

Poppies sound beautiful Helen.

<admires Apricot’s hair>

Morning wenches.

Awake since about 4.30, gave up eventually on trying to get back to sleep so am up, showered and dressed. Might as well get the ironing out of the way. Usual Sunday I think.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/06/2025 08:06

Morning all. Urgh LetUs - have some matchsticks for your eyes. I thought 7am was unnecessary when I woke up (shit dream). On the plus side, it's lovely drying weather outside and the washing should be done soon. The first load anyway. (Such is the excitement of my day!)

ApricotCrush · 01/06/2025 16:33

Afternoon. Cloudy but warm with the occasional shower. I’ve been doing the usual jobs and knitting.

Hope the project continues to go well LetUs, and the poppy sounds lovely Helen.

Evening.

Really tired, was up at 6.30 for work, have to catch up due to visits to the vet and my own medical appointments. The liquid medicine made Fräsan sick so now I'm crushing the tablets and mix them with water and using a syringe to give it to her but she really puts up a fight. So stressful both for her and for me.

6 month check up Apes? They're only after your money.

Sounds awful that you had to call the police Fancy, hope everything is ok now.

4.30 sounds horrible Letus, not being able to sleep really sucks.

The poppy sounds lovely Helen.

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2025 19:20

Evening wenches.

Giving a cat any kind of medication in whatever form really should get an Olympic classification.

We’ve had sun and then absolutely chucking it down rain all through the day, with the wind a constant.

Plus side of being up and about early on was that I had the ironing done for just after 7. Fading a bit now.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/06/2025 21:24

Evening. I have done three loads of washing, planted stuff out in the veg patch, done some mowing, been a taxi for DS, and got the AA out for a flat tyre when I was trying to get DS back home. I think that's about it. Mostly, breezy and sunny here today - clouded over later, but no rain.

WobblyCat has some anti-inflammatory drugs which she actually laps up quite happily, so that's a 'wonders never cease' moment. We also have a fish-oil based laxative to ty and help with hairballs, and I've coated tablets in that before now to get them into a cat. But yes, never mind Olympic sports - introducing cats and tablets is usually an extreme sport that should involve danger money.

Tomorrow I have to do more shuttling about - back to college and vet and also get the temporary tyre fix made permanent. And work. <le sigh>

LetUsPrey · 02/06/2025 07:34

Morning wenches.

Oh bloody hell Helen, never mind needing one clone, you need about five. Well done to WobblyCat on taking the meds though!

Sun here but given how pleasant it was when I got up yesterday, I won’t let that fool me.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2025 10:37

Morning all. Today my back is sore Sad It was a bit sore last night, but properly stiff and painful when I woke up. I should take some drugs really. And use it as an excuse to lie down and do no work. Grin

Cloudy here but I don't think any rain is forecast. So I could get more bedding on the line. I could. I just can't really be arsed, and there may be a cat asleep on the bed anyway. Thou shalt not disturb a sleeping cat. (11th Commandment.)

ApricotCrush · 02/06/2025 17:03

Afternoon. Nice day with a lot of sun. Much washing done.

Oh dear, poor Fräsan, and you WW. How stressful. You’re right about the vet; I’ve replied to them accordingly.

It’s very satisfying to get up early and get jobs done LetUs. It’s a very rare occurrence here. Hmm

I’m not surprised your back is sore Helen. Try to take it easy, although I know that’s impossible. Grin at 11th Commandment. DH bought some new track suit bottoms to wear about the house and they were waiting for me to shorten them. Guess where Misty’s new favourite sleeping place is. He’ll have to wait until she gives them back.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2025 21:27

Evening all. Sunshine here, but I didn't do washing. Just work and taxi-ing DS. My back has eased off, so as long as I don't do anything stupid at pilates this week, hopefully it's fine.

LOL at Mistry's new bed. They do like to nest on clean clothes. Hope that Frasen's drugs have turned up and she isn't refusing them too enthusiastically. Hope that you're catching up on sleep to Wicked.

LetUsPrey · 02/06/2025 22:07

Evening wenches.

Good that your back is easing off Helen. Let’s hope that continues.

Oh Misty 😊. I’m in a knitting group (no way) and there are lots of photos of cats “helping” with the knitting/crochet by keeping it nice and warm 😁

LetUsPrey · 03/06/2025 07:24

Morning wenches.

Rain. So much rain. If anywench is in a flood warning area, hope all is okay.

I know I’ve got a busy day ahead with specific things lined up and I absolutely do not want to. Le sigh.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/06/2025 07:28

Morning. All the wind here, but no rain yet.

My back is a bit bit sore again this morning, but nothing like yesterday, so fingers crossed!

Send your clone to work LetUs - you deserve a day off, with HBFs tending to your every need.

ApricotCrush · 03/06/2025 17:15

Afternoon. Much rain overnight and this morning, but it's brightened up now.

Nothing to report here, hope everyone's had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 03/06/2025 21:28

Evening wenches.

So much rain this afternoon, which conveniently stopped for the walk to the car park, then started again not long after I set off. At several points had the wipers on full and had to pause what I was listening to because I couldn’t hear it.

Good news re the back Helen.

Project is continuing. It’s a dragon which the way it’s working up is possibly going to be life sized. I’m sure it’ll be fiiiiiiine.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/06/2025 21:56

Yay for life-sized dragons. You can take it to work and it can glare at WorkFuckwits! What colour will it be? Have you got metallic wool so it shimmers and glints in the light? Will you install flame thrower in its mouth? I am overinvested in the dragon project now Grin

Work, wind, but of rain but not much. I've been working all day but don't feel like there's much to show for it Sad <le sigh> Weekend activities are looking less likely in the current forecast, but the weekend feels like a way away still, so who knows.

LetUsPrey · 04/06/2025 07:15

Morning wenches.

It’s an orange dragon. I do have some gold and silver yarn so now I’m wondering if I can incorporate that somewhere 😁

We have sunshine! But you don’t fool me weather. No no.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/06/2025 07:32

Morning all. The wind has dropped and it's cloudy but dry. What should I wear to work? (Will check forecast.)

Was up late trying to catch up on freelancing and I'm predictably shattered now. Ho hum...

ApricotCrush · 04/06/2025 17:16

Afternoon. Sunshine and showers, more like April.

Grin at the life-sized dragon. Sounds interesting. I used to knit toys and outfits for Sindy and Action Man and the DC still have some of them but I don’t have any little ones to knit for now so my knitting is just jumpers. Hmm

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 04/06/2025 20:38

Evening wenches.

I’m certain you looked as fab as wenches usually look Helen whatever you wore.

But your knitted jumpers are epic Apricot because you just make up your own as you go along. I’m thinking I may need to adapt a part of this pattern very very slightly and that’s quite daring for me 😁

Work was a pile of shite and can get in the bin.

Must try for an early night, although it seems to be the staying asleep through the night that’s a problem.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/06/2025 21:15

Evening all. I looked suitably uninspiring stylish today in trousers and tunic top/cardi combo. Work was a mess of finance stuff and needing to check a presentation.

Maybe Apricot could knit HBFs for us. Or not. I vaguely remember someone on Twitter had knitted or crocheted mini musketeers.

I must also try and get an early night tonight. Which means I need to get off the sofa and tidy the kitchen...
