Afternoon. Cloudy this morning but it went sunny this afternoon. DH went to the garden centre and bought over 100 bedding plants, so I know what we'll be doing tomorrow. <sigh>

No Eurovision here either, it's just gone too weird. Hmm

Have a lovely evening all.

Evening all. It's been all systems go here with catching up on work this morning, then helping set up for a local event, and tomorrow it will be the local event so I'll be out all day again as well. I'm pooped.

DS is off doing SportingCompetition tomorrow, and his GF's mother has just messaged me about what time to drop her off Confused I'm really hoping that the WhatsApp ticks turn blue soon so I know the message has got through - their phone signal is even worse than ours.

I actually have Eurovision on at the moment Shock because DH is another room. There is much warbling - I happened to catch the UK entry, then a Latvian one with even more harmonizing, and now, I think it's the Netherlands with lots of different languages in one song. Or maybe just two - who knows. LOL - Graham Norton has described him as 'in his pyjamas already'. Strobing lights for Finland next apparently, and a very uncomfortable costume.

LetUsPrey · 17/05/2025 23:39

Evening wenches.

Slightly tipsy after a very lovely evening out. They had Eurovision on on the tv over the bar but no sound. That made it, if you can believe it, even weirder 😁

Weather perked up considerably and I had a nice day sitting out but then coming in for a bit.

Good luck with the plants tomorrow Apricot.

Going to have so,e birthday cake now which probably won’t be wise at this time of the night.

LetUsPrey · 18/05/2025 07:08

Morning wenches.

Bright and sunny. I’m hoping for some peace this afternoon so I can sit outside and read. Usual Sunday before that.

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 18/05/2025 17:11

Afternoon. Another lovely day. The plants have been planted. I make the holes while DH gets them out of the trays, then I place them on the ground as I can’t trust him to get the colours right, and then he puts them in. Now we’ve got to remember to water them as there’s no rain forecast for goodness knows how long. Hmm

This afternoon we have been sitting in the garden sudokuing.

Hope Helen’s local event went well and LetUs got to sit outside to read.

Evening wenches.

Did manage a bit of time outside but I think our weather has turned now and drops through the week until the weekend when it rains. Other than that, usual Sunday including a video call with the grandkittens. DS1 was also there.

I bet your garden is going to look beautiful Apricot.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/05/2025 21:34

Honestly, there's sod all point in writing a post if I don't then hit 'post' [eye roll]

Today has been sunny and cloudy and variably breezy. Event went well and I am a bit knackered (though not as knackered as I'll be for the bank holiday events). Glad to hear that plants have been plants and gardens have been sat in.

I am heading for a bath and bed...What I really need is a resident HBF to provide massages on demand. And to win the lottery, and I think the latter is more likely to happen (even if I don't nbuy a ticket)!

FancyFancy · 18/05/2025 23:53

Evening, relieved to not be on an internet blackout any more as DD and I watched Eurovision earlier - not the best year. Our favourite song was the the Kaarija/Baby Lasagna mash up which wasn't even in the competition. Low point - the screeching in a bad wig by Nemo. There were quite a few songs I liked (including the Latvian one - marvelously weird) but none blew me away.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/05/2025 07:33

Morning all. Welcome back Fancy Grin I really don't remember much at all from the small amount of Eurovision I watched, so I'm glad to hear I didn't really miss anything Grin
Today seems to be sunny with some cloud floating about. I will be Worky McWorkface, so hopefully there willy be nothing exciting to report.

Hope everyone has a good day!

LetUsPrey · 19/05/2025 07:46

Morning wenches.

Weather has definitely turned here, ready for the more traditional bank holiday weekend weather. Never mind, I suppose if it does rain, it’ll benefit the gardens and wildlife etc etc.

Doesn’t sound like it was a good year Fancy. Hopefully it’ll be back up to usual standards next year.

Agree with the more chance of a lottery win Helen, even without a ticket 😁

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 19/05/2025 16:47

Afternoon. The lovely weather has gone here too, we had our afternoon cuppa outside and it was positively chilly. Still, it's been nice while it lasted.

Grin at the videocall with the grandkittens. And DS1.

Sorry about Eurovision Fancy, we did happen upon the French entry when changing channels, but didn't stay with it.

Hope IdiotKitty has been behaving himself.

Evening wenches.

Work meeting for new bits of IT today. It ran over by a lot, mainly because sometimes there are people who don’t know what they’re talking about for some of the time but think they do and just don’t stop. When we finally got to the end and the person running the meeting said “does anyone have any more questions?”, I was ready to brain anyone who spoke up with the closest thing to hand which was a stack of coasters.

I’ve got Chelsea Flower Show on. I love watching it. I have no ability (or will) as far as gardening is concerned, but I’m very happy to sit and watch this.

<pushes heater into garden for Apricot and other wenches>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/05/2025 21:25

I missed the 'Grandkittens' bit <snort/LOL> Grin

It's been lovely outside today, as long as you were out of the wind and in the sun. So actually, it was mostly lovely in the car, and a bit chilly actually outside.

Today has been worky and stuff. Sympathies on people who won't shut up LetUs - never mind the actual IT shenanigans. I couldn't log into one of our systems today. And you have to be able to log into said system to be able to raise an IT issue Hmm Fortunately, I remembered that my laptop also has a phone number for IT support, who just told me to delete my shortcut and reload from elsewhere. Which worked. <bores everyone with work shite>

I have double-booked myself with one of the endless summer events and trying to socialise, but fortunately the manshapes have volunteered to cover for me so I can leave early and go to a play with friends. Hurrah for helpful manshapes!

Hope everyone had a good day and wicked is ok.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/05/2025 21:29

Also, following on from the conversation about Uncle Fester dolls and picasso creations, I give you this gem... www.facebook.com/reel/979257357530165

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/05/2025 07:20

Morning. It's sunny and bright. Feel like I actually had a decent night's sleep, probably because I don't remember DH waking me up when he came to bed.

Nothing going on today apart form the usual.

Have a good day all.

LetUsPrey · 20/05/2025 07:24

Morning wenches.

Oooo at decent night’s sleep Helen! The having to log in to make a support request when you can’t log in is like when I had a problem with email at work so phoned our then IT “support” who told me to email my query. Hurrah for helpful manshapes!

Cloudy so far. Bit of an effort to get up this morning but the prospect of the bank holiday encouraged me.

Have great days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 20/05/2025 17:45

Afternoon. We had rain in the night as there was a big puddle on the roof this morning. The sun came back later and it was quite hot, but it's gone all cloudy now.

I did a Lidl shop and then went round the local shops to get a card with 15 on it. It seems they don't do them with ages after 13, but I did get one in the end. It's for a great-niece who I haven't seen for about 10 years, but I don't like to stop sending them. When do you stop? If I stop for her I would have to stop for the 3 great-nephews, who I also don't see. Argh!

Oh that poor teddy. Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/05/2025 19:19

Sorry for being AWOL.

Blob started last night, that's always a delight. I'm almost 54, when will it stop? I will probably still be blobbing at the retirement home Hmm

Day cruise and buffet was nice, ate a LOT [burp]

Grin at that teddy.

Aaw at grandkittens Smile

Only watched Swedens act on Eurovision (more Finnish than Swedish I would say) Hmm

LetUsPrey · 20/05/2025 21:10

Evening wenches.

Dull but quite stuffy here. Had one big clap of thunder just after 4 but then nothing else. Work was aaarrgghh and also featured someone being Confidently Wrong.

Am the same with cards Apricot.

That sounds rough Wicked that it’s still going on. Good that the day cruise and buffet was nice.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/05/2025 21:45

Evening all. It has been cool and sunny again.

I think we've got recently fledged buzzards about at the moment - two crash-landed in a shrub this afternoon (unless it was a couple of adults having a fight - I have no idea to be honest), which was mildly entertaining for me, if not them! And the crows have been having a right go at them.

DS has had the day off college due to a cricked neck - ouch, and all that!

I shall count myself lucky that I don't have any small distant relatives to wonder about sending cards to! I do have older distant ones that I wonder about, and have frankly given up with some cousins who don't bother with anything either.

Glad to hear the cruise was nice wicked, sorry to hear about sodding biological functions. Thoroughly unnecessary.

LetUsPrey · 21/05/2025 07:24

Morning wenches.

Oh dear, (potentially) poor fledged buzzards. Hope MiniHelen’s neck has improved.

Dull but quite warm. Have put out a line of washing but I’ll have to ask DS2 to keep an eye on the weather.

Can’t really seem to get going today.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/05/2025 07:59

Morning all. Flailing gently here - forgot to get DS to make his lunch last night and I forgot to get him a new bus ticket. Just grabbing some breakfast then off to college run / BoringOfficeJob / yet more event set-up. <breathes>

I shall motivate myself by pretending there's an HBF waiting for me at the end of it all.

Have a good day all...

ApricotCrush · 21/05/2025 17:15

Afternoon. Sunny this morning but we’ve had a lot of rain this afternoon together with some thunder. I got the washing in just in time.

It’s a pain WW. I still had it occasionally for years as I was on HRT which really suited me, so it was worth it. Then ten years ago my GP took the HRT off me and my health and everything else has gone downhill since. I haven’t seen her since, I see someone else. I’ll never forgive her. Sad

Hope HelenDS’s neck is better.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 21/05/2025 20:42

Evening wenches.

That sounds fairly exhausting Helen, before the day had even got properly going.

Perhaps that rain is making its way here Apricot, although it’s quite sunny this evening. 😠 At that GP.

Work was, let’s say, frustrating.

I’m spending the evening upstairs with knitting and crochet whilst the football is on. It’s a Big Match and I am very much keeping out of the way.

FancyFancy · 21/05/2025 20:43

Evening

What a nuisance ww, no one needs things outstaying their welcome!

Don't think there was any rain here <is jealous>

Am technically off work for the rest of the week now, but lost much of the afternoon to parental stuff, so have hours to make up <sighs>
