Afternoon. It's been a lovely day and I took advantage to get the bedclothes washed.

I seem to be on a continual declutter Fancy but I don't seem to get very far. Hmm

Hope work hasn't been too bad for you all. RIP stepper. Sad

LetUsPrey · 17/10/2024 20:09

Evening wenches.

I had half planned to change the bedding last night and get it washed for this morning. Unfortunately there was the other half of things where that plan didn’t happen because I couldn’t be arsed.

Poor stepper having stepped its last.

Finally found some time today to have a go on the test version of the new system. I’ve forgotten everything I saw in the training courses and watched in the videos, so it’s going really well.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/10/2024 20:44

Oh dear - sympathies LetUs Sad New systems are just the worst.

No washing was done here, though my coat is filthy <niagw> so I need to stick that through the machine.

DH has wiring plans to see if he can resuscitate the stepper. Not literal plans-on-paper - 'cunning plan' type plans that involve getting new wires.

LetUsPrey · 18/10/2024 07:27

Morning wenches.

Quite dreary here.

Here’s hoping MrHelen’s cunning plan has a more positive outcome than the usual cunning plans 😁

Out tonight for a family thing. Hopefully won’t be a late one.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/10/2024 07:46

Morning all. No pretty sunrise this morning, though last night's sunset looked good. Lots of grey sky gradually turning blue just now.

No plans today, just work and more spreadsheet reconcillintion, dooooom which will be easy and quickly resolved. Hmm

DH had another 'I can't get to sleep' night, so matchsticks may be required.

Hope everyone has a good day and LetUs has a nice family do.

ApricotCrush · 18/10/2024 16:28

Afternoon. Nice day but it’s raining now. I did look for the comet last night as the sky was reasonably clear, but all I got was a star and a helicopter. Sad

Oh, the eye mask arrived yesterday and I used it last night. It also gave instructions for the eye massage which I did as well. I’m not sure there was any improvement but I suppose it takes time.

Hope MrHelen is able to revive the stepper.

Enjoy your family thing LetUs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/10/2024 20:58

Evening. I looked for the comet this evening and got a vapour trail Hmm Oh well. I did manage to get a load of washing mostly dry on the line, but it's that time of year that if I leave it out until I've finished work it starts getting cold and damp again, which is v. tedious.

Once I've done the eye mask and massage thing, I stick in eye drops Apricot which does seem to have got the painfully-stuck-together-eyelids thing under control. I'm not sure just the heat/massage would be enough.

I also spent the day wrestling with spreadsheets and might have got to the bottom of the mis-match. Which would be nice. Now I'm just a bit tired and slumped on the sofa.

Might research replacement steppers...

LetUsPrey · 18/10/2024 22:20

Evening wenches.

Balls, forgot to buy a new eye mask because the other one has vanished.

Well done on the spreadsheet solving Helen.

Work was the usual. Family party was nice, but going out more or less as soon as I’ve got home from work is not my thing any more. It was fun though and I gave LovelyMIL a lift home as she was very tired. I suppose I’d better take off my make up before I faceplant in bed.

LetUsPrey · 19/10/2024 08:26

Morning wenches.

Rain. However, the cover for my heated clothes drier arrived yesterday so that’s already in action. Quite excited really 😁

Meeting BestFriend this morning and then the usual stuff. DH wants to empty more boxes from the loft which is a good idea but urgh.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/10/2024 10:05

Morning wenches. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin - persistent light stuff, so ideal for staying in and getting housework/tidying done. Oh joy. (as per your loft LetUs - a good idea but urgh.

My lie-in was punctuated by Intelligent and idiot kitty squeaking and chirruping at me, Then IdiotKitty decided to kill me and scratched my wrist. [ouch] and Angry.

Today is officially 'meh'.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/10/2024 15:11

I finally did a workout session today, been meaning to do that for a long time, found some videos on Youtube. Wow I'm in really bad shape Grin

Cooking goulash soup now and later couch and telly. What an exciting life i live Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/10/2024 15:34

Oh, and tomato soup is the best thing ever, especially combined with garlic bread 😋

ApricotCrush · 19/10/2024 16:43

Afternoon. It’s been a lovely day here, but I didn’t have enough washing for a full load.

I’ve never been up into our loft. I’d love to but I’m scared of the ladder and also putting my foot through a ceiling. I like it when DH has a rummage up there because he finds stuff I’d forgotten about.

My eyes aren’t as bad as yours Helen, not stuck down, just very sore, but I will get some drops.

That sounds lovely WW. Also tomato soup and garlic bread.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 19/10/2024 19:12

Evening wenches.

Loft emptying did not happen. Shame. I don’t like going up the ladder either Apricot.

Lovely chat with BestFriend this morning. Otherwise general pottering about and some knitting and crochet.

I’m trying to kid myself that the fast walk from and to the car park is enough exercise. I doubt very much it is.

<passes plasters to Helen>

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2024 08:25

Morning wenches.

Windy and rainy and daaarrrrkkkk.

Usual Sunday ahead.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/10/2024 14:26

Afternoon all, it was dry first thing, but then the rain set in.

I have been a whirlwind of productivity - chicken coop cleaned, soakaway covered over, soup made, apples stewed.. Not all today, obvs. An my back it telling me that I shovelled lots of soil yesterday, but at least it's done now.

DS has a small horde of teenagers round. They're watching Venom and eating pringles, as far as I can tell. I'm eating toast. Or rather, my toast is sitting nest to me going cold and soggy while I type. Hmmm. <post>

ApricotCrush · 20/10/2024 16:22

Afternoon. Much rain and wind this morning but it’s brightened up now.

Good heavens Helen, I wish I had your motivation. I feel I’ve done nothing today. That’s it really. Hmm

Have a good evening all.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/10/2024 18:28

All hail DH! He seems to have fixed the stepper by taking a cover off and hoovering and unscrewing/re-screwing connections.

The horde have all left now so DS is doing homework playing on the x-box. I have done nothing productive since the last post, other than test the stepper and hang washing out around the house.

Hope no-one is being blown away in the storm!

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2024 18:43

Evening wenches.

Hurrah for MrHelen! Am in awe of your productivity Helen.

We had similar Apricot, brightened up middle of the day to late afternoon although it stayed windy. And then about 5pm it was like someone switched the lights off and the wind picked up even more and it’s raining again.

I’ve almost finished the cardigan, just need to sew on the sleeves and get some buttons. But that’s for another day as I’m having a lovely lovely drink.

FancyFancy · 20/10/2024 23:48

Evening

Had a very productive Thursday - some cleaning, ebaying & a bit of work. On Friday I did the rest of the cleaning & then DD came over - she was really diligent & we went through everything in her room. Bugger me that girl had a lot of clothes Shock I now have about 4 bags to get rid of. I really should have done this earlier in the year when getting through piles of washing would've been easier. Anyhow, it is what it is - I can look forward to washing & sorting them all into bundles to sell.

The weekend has been a bit less productive - more Freecycle & ebay listings & some pottering about. Also had afternoon tea with an ex-neighbour yesterday which was nice.

Tomorrow am off to bigCity with FancyMan for an exhibition, should be good although the back of my mouth has that 'I may be about to get a cold' feeling <sighs> Not surprising really as everyone else round here is coughing and spluttering.

LetUsPrey · 21/10/2024 07:38

Morning wenches.

That’s very impressive Fancy! And some lovely things in amongst all the productivity. Hope cold stays away and you enjoy the exhibition.

Wind and rain finally stopped. Feels very Monday today.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2024 08:34

Morning all. I wasn't sure if it was grey this morning because the sun wasn't up yet, or if it was clouds. Can confirm it's clouds.

Watched the first episode of Sweetpea last night (HBO/Sky), and did a double-take when Queenie appeared Grin Also last night, DS was up v. late because he realised that he'd done the wrong homework. Credit to him for staying up to do the right one, but maybe if he didn't leave it until the night before... <le sigh> This morning we are all predictably zombie-ish.

Hope that Fancy enjoys the exhibition - we are all a bit snuffly here. Am also v. impressed with the level so de-cluttering going on at Chateau Fancy. LOL at the mistimed washing - I did that several times last week.

Have a good day all.
<PaddingtonBearStare at LetUs's new work systems/work in general>
<complicated 'I'm watching you - behave' hand gestures>

ApricotCrush · 21/10/2024 16:13

Afternoon. The weather app said sunny all day, but it didn’t appear. DD came over this morning to bring me some sewing and we had a catch up, which was nice.

Oh well done to MrHelen. That’s what DH does, fetch apart, clean, put back together. Works most times.

Fancy, I’ve still got loads of clothes here belonging to DD and DS which I’m gradually ebaying. Hope you enjoy the exhibition and the throat doesn’t come to anything.

You’re doing very well with the knitting LetUs, I seem to have come to a halt because of lack of inspiration.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 21/10/2024 19:36

Evening wenches.

Keep the gestures for tomorrow Helen. Nothing’s ever straightforward.

Sewing and a catch up sounds so nice Apricot. I’m trying to get this main project finished before I start on doll clothes hopefully next week. Have also started with some Christmas decoration projects. I much prefer doing the smaller stuff.

I still get a surprise when I see Queenie in the Poirot episode Elephants Can Remember.

Must try for an early night and hope for respite from bonkers dreams.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2024 22:22

Evening all. Um. Not done much today other than work and be a taxi.

Good to hear about productive sewing and knitting. Hope that Fancy has had a good day out with FancyMan Grin
