Oooh Fancy - exciting! What are you doing?
<Surrounds toddler and family with soundproofing> Honestly though, who would take a toddler in the quiet carriage?!

ApricotCrush · 13/10/2024 16:40

Afternoon. Not a bad day but cold. I should have done some washing but didn’t. Hmm

I try to deal with paperwork as it comes in but it’s not always possible. I do have more time than the rest of you though. I don’t know how I coped with a job. Confused DH deals with his own stuff and his desk is usually a mess.

I’m currently a cat bed and she’s having a wash. Grin

I'M ON THE TRAIN AGAIN!

Was a quick trip up to see DDad. Train home is delayed and quiet carriage is busier than the rest, although it is quiet. Some twat is sat in the seat next to my booked seat manspreading like a champ. Cunt. There are plenty of other available seats, so I am sitting in one of those. I'm more than happy to ask bags to be removed etc.but that would mean spending 2 hours sitting next to a selfish arse and I can't be bothered. Last time I took a stand against manspreading I spent 30 minutes pushing back against some be-suited twat who was trying to take over the armrest I was already using when he sat down. He was texting someone calling me a nutter 🤣 No, perfectly sane. Just bloody minded 😁

LetUsPrey · 13/10/2024 18:36

Evening wenches.

Urgh Fancy, why must people be so, well, peoply? I can feel your rage on your way home post and I totally understand. If folk stopped being so bastard selfish, the world - and train journeys - would be much more pleasant. You’ll know if you’re ever sharing a quiet carriage with LittleSis as you will both be deploying exactly the same looks at people who are not complying 😁 Hope visit was okay.

Not sure about you having that much more time Apricot, you never seem to stop! Except for being a cat bed which is never a bad thing,

Have done bath’n’book. Going to do my nails and then once they’ve dried, I shall continue with the knitting.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/10/2024 19:10

Evening all. I am being a cat bed, too, but she's snoozing rather than grooming.

The washing got mostly dry on the line, and is now hanging inside to finish up. Most of today seems to have been spent in the kitchen trying to make a dent in the apple glut and make more tomato soup. I was going to make flapjacks, but didn't get round to that.

Hope that it was a good visit Fancy, and FFS at manspreader.

<admires LetUs's nails>

LetUsPrey · 14/10/2024 07:21

Morning wenches.

Looks chilly outside, no idea though.

Have another flapjack Helen.

Prepared for a day/week of “well where can I save it if I can’t save it in the old system?” and not shouting READ THE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS. Also, traffic.

Look at me, spreading positivity.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/10/2024 07:33

Morning all.

Can confirm that it's a bit chilly outside, as well as daaaaark, and just started raining here.

Sending thoughts and prayers LetUs [grimace] I'm sure it will be fiiiiiiiine, just don't kill anyone?! Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/10/2024 17:03

Monday again, yay 😍

I remember on the commuter train once when som dude started reading the newspaper next to me, really imposing on my space, he just assumed that I would give up the space willingly. So I started to read MY newspaper and spreading out as much as I could, didn't budge one bit. He actually changed seat after a while and I could see from the corner of my eye him glaring at me, I just smiled sweetly and continued to read my extremely interesting newspaper Grin Som people men are so entitled.

ApricotCrush · 14/10/2024 17:24

Afternoon. Still, damp, coldish, typical autumnal day. And it's getting dark already. Sad

I'll have some of your tomato soup Helen. It's my favourite but DH doesn't like it so I don't buy it.

Well done Fancy and WW for sticking up for yourselves on the trains.

Hope the day hasn't been too bad LetUs. I used to be an admin trainer in another life, so I do understand, although there were no computers then. Don't know if that was better or worse. Hmm

Evening wenches.

Yay for Fancy and Wicked! Love that technique Wicked 😁

Annoying people are annoying people whatever the situation Apricot so well done on never getting arrested (as far as we know….. 😁)

Many problems at work unrelated to tech so I’m quite tired.

Buy the soup Apricot.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/10/2024 22:19

Seconded - just make buy the soup Apricot - you can have for lunch it when he's out playing golf!

I have a rush job on for work <le sigh> - why can't people be more organised? I've had this job in my diary for months, so it's not like they didn't know they had to doooo iiiiiitttt <entirely nlt> but no, they left it until the last minute so now I'm scrambling about trying to catch up. FFs and all that.

<cwtch> for shitty work LetUs

that sounds like a job well done wicked Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2024 07:18

Morning. It's grey and cloudy with slivers of pinky orange peeking between the clouds. The radio says that it's not cold out. No idea if they're right because I haven't fed the chickens yet.
Intelligent cat has colonised my lap, so I'm going to have to turf her off shortly.

Have a good day all!

LetUsPrey · 15/10/2024 07:20

Morning wenches.

<looks around for Helen at workplace because that sounds very very familiar>

Eyes are being all irritated and stupid again so I have one eye that was stuck shut when I woke up and is now a bit swollen. Bobby dazzler doesn’t cover it. Hoping antihistamines do the trick.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2024 07:26

Eye patch at work LetUs - it's the only way Grin
I'm trying to do the microwaved/heated mask and eye drops every night. It does seem to make a difference, just rather a tedious addition to the bedtime routine.

ApricotCrush · 15/10/2024 16:22

Afternoon. Same weather, damp and dismal. Nothing much going on here.

Hope the antihistamines help LetUs. That eye patch is very glamorous. I’ve done nothing about my dry eyes, which is ridiculous considering I was at the opticians last week. Hmm

<buys tomato soup>

LetUsPrey · 15/10/2024 20:13

Evening wenches.

I’ll keep the eye patch as Plan B. Bought eye drops on the way to work. Can’t for the life of me find my microwaveable eye mask thing.

Work was manic and I’m tired.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/10/2024 22:20

I find the microwave eye mask doesn't stay warm very long. I thought I was meant to keep it on for at least 5 minutes, but it's quite cool by then. Ho hum.

I have worked and cooked and tidied the kitchen - what's that mythology thing about constantly pushing a boulder up a hill? That's what washing up is and housework in general, obvs. And now it's gone 10pm and I ought to go to bed.
<passes more flapjacks around - they're apple ones, so no idea what they're going to be like>

<decorates, because.>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/10/2024 07:28

Morning all. It's grey and cloudy. We've had no chance to see that comet that's been in the news.

Wok calls - booo Sad. Hope every wench has a good day!

LetUsPrey · 16/10/2024 07:32

Morning wenches.

Decorating early for Christmas Helen? Good work. 😁

It was Sisyphus with the boulder up the hill and then it rolling back down again just before he got it to the top, hence a Sisyphean task, ie futile.

Weather does not look pleasant. Short work day but lots to get done after work too. <side eyes boulder>

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 16/10/2024 16:43

Afternoon. Grey and cloudy here too, but not cold when I went to retrieve the dustbin after it had been emptied. That's the excitement for the day.

I've ordered one of those microwave eye masks. I'll see if it makes any difference.

<googles comet> Ooo, will have a look later, although I don't think there's much chance. Sad

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/10/2024 18:50

I have been out to look for yon comet, but no sign in the bits of sky without cloud. Ho hum.

Work has been a horrendous day of trying to find errors in spreadsheets. One turned up, the other didn't. <le dis-spirited sigh>

Hope other wenches have had better days,

Apricot - I also googled 'eye massage for dry eyes' for instructions on how to do that part of dry-eye maintenance.

LetUsPrey · 16/10/2024 19:10

Evening wenches.

I shall look that up too Helen.

Rain allllllll day, then it slowed to a drizzle for a little bit, clearly just to get its breath back because it’s been absolutely throwing it down for the last 40 minutes or so. I suspect zero comet viewing opportunities.

Work was urgh. Finished the second sleeve, but it all needs wetting now and putting into shape. Not sure how long it’s going to take to dry. Got a few more projects lined up though.

FancyFancy · 16/10/2024 22:17

Evening. No chance of seeing a comet here tonight - very drizzly. Also very warm. I swear when I got home from work it was warmer outside than in my house.

I now have a week off - am supposed to be having a declutter, let's see how much I achieve and how much time I waste faffing about online!

LetUsPrey · 17/10/2024 07:19

Morning wenches.

Yay for week off Fancy! Good luck with the decluttering. I’ve got a few days I’ll take in November with that intention. Won’t happen.

Supposed to be dry today. Not much sign of that yet.

Didn’t sleep particularly well so extra cups of tea will be needed at work.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/10/2024 09:16

Hurrah for a week off Fancy - enjoy the lie-ins! Never mind de-cluttering, you should be having a tour of wenches. Though Chonk and Floof would object to the lack of human hot water bottle, so you're stuck at home with the decluttering.

We have cloud and rain/drizzle here - most uninspiring, and I don't feel terribly motivated for cracking on with work. On the plus side, there's a full saucepan of apple stewed on the hob now.

In traumatic news, the stepper has deceased. It is no more, it has shuffled off this mortal coil, etc etc.
