Morning wenches.

More cross with myself Helen re the knitting. As I unraveled the knitting I was telling myself well you’ll read the pattern properly next time won’t you. Which is what I told myself the last several times. Muppet. Wasn’t too dreadful thankfully.

Urgh at it still being cold though.

We have sunshine. One weather app is saying cloudy but warm and dry this week with proper sunshine on Sunday. Another one is saying warmer but rain on and off for most of the week.

Have lovely days wenches.

FancyFancy · 29/04/2024 13:38

Afternoon

Had a partially successful dentist appointment this morning, then a different appointment & am now having a brief lunch before heading out to FancyMan's. We are also out this evening for a film - well, a screening of a stage musical.

We have sunshine & the feline publishing sensation is sunning himself. Inside of course - it's bloody windy out there & not that warm. Chonk is still under the bed as the second appointment was at the house & visitors are SCARY 😱Several seelings are also sunning themselves inside - poor things were outside for a few nights last week, but between the weather & the slugs they were struggling. It's just tomato plants & nasturtiums. And one triffid. It's about double the size of the others & also has a flower bud on it. Talk about previous.

Afternoon. Cold, windy and now raining.

I went to Lidl this morning and then collected a prescription which I ordered last Wednesday and which is usually waiting on a shelf. They hadn’t even made it up and I waited about 20 minutes during which time the shop filled up with 10 other people also waiting for prescriptions. Then when they finally gave it to me my blood pressure tablets were the wrong ones so they had to go and find the correct ones. I don’t know what it is, but no-one can do a job properly these days. Confused

Grin at triffid. DS’s seedlings aren’t doing well, he thinks he’ll lose a lot of them.

Have a good evening all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/04/2024 19:03

This morning's unposted post:

Sunshine! Blue skies! Warmth! So today I have to stay indoors and work. Bloody typical. Though I do have to go out, because I've just seen some paperwork lying here that had to go back to school today. Arse, etc.

Fingers crossed that everyone has a good day.

This evening's post.
Still sunny, also windy, and also seedlings are being kept underwraps to protect them. Sodding chickens have been scratching around in the flower beds and half wrecked a poppy that I'd bought for my birthday <le sigh> I've put a plastic thing over it to try and protect it, but so much for buying a plant with lots of growth on it - it's now a scraggy collection of ground-level leaves. Anyway... this morning's paperwork was successfully delivered and while I was out I did the shopping and then came home to hang our the washing so by the time I started actual work, half the morning was gone. Did get a load of washing dry on the line though, which is good. Hopefully another load tomorrow.

I want to channel the publishing sensation and snooze in the sunshine...

LetUsPrey · 29/04/2024 21:08

Evening wenches.

Cold and windy and rainy. Time to stop playing silly beggars (as my mother would say) now please weather.

Eeeek at possible triffid Fancy! Sounds like a nice day on balance. Hope Chonk’s over the shock.

I totally understand and agree Apricot.

You’ll be meeting yourself coming back at that rate Helen!

I have nothing to contribute re gardening or plants. They fear my presence.

Work lived up to Monday’s reputation. I am now very low grade illing with a sore throat but am hoping paracetamol and an early night will help. Woe etc.

LetUsPrey · 30/04/2024 07:13

Morning wenches.

The sun is at least making an effort this morning.

Brain doesn’t seem to have followed me out of bed and down the stairs today. Perhaps it’ll turn up at some stage.

Hope your day is sunny and dry and getting warmer wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/04/2024 14:21

Work!!! FML stupid deadlines...
<flails>
<works>

ApricotCrush · 30/04/2024 16:14

Afternoon. Nice day with lots of sun but still a very cold wind. I tried sitting outside but it was too cold. The washing has dried though so that’s good.

Oh LetUs hope the throat hasn’t developed into anything. Also hope your brain has caught up with you. Grin DH has a cold and I had a sore throat the other night but I seem to have fought it off. 🤞

<sends emergency HBF’s to Helen>

LetUsPrey · 30/04/2024 20:38

Evening wenches.

Throat still sore, sneezing starting <plays tiny violin>. Woe oh woe.

Hope you avoid whatever it is MrApricot has Apricot. Hurrah for line dried washing!

Definitely warmer by the time I left work.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/04/2024 21:24

Evening all. Get thee to the hayloft LetUs, we'll wrap you up in blankets and HBFs - that will sort you out Grin You'll probably find that's where you left your brain this morning too. (Stupid sodding sneezy sore throat colds though Sad ) Fingers crossed for FamilleApricot not getting anything horrible either.

I have had a busy day with lots of work. The deadline hasn't moved, but people didn't do their part of the job early enough and now I have not very much time for me to do mine. FML, etc. I rather fancy<nto> and early night now.

FancyFancy · 30/04/2024 21:40

Evening

Not a very exciting day really, work and more work. New chap starts tomorrow, so hoping that works out well. Floof climbed a tree today - so proud 😁

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 01/05/2024 07:36

Morning wenches.

Still got a thick head, in more ways than one. <stays in hayloft>

Oh Floof, so clever! Hope new person works out well Fancy.

<passes flamethrower to Helen> sometimes it’s the only way

Dull but dry here.

Hope wenches have some good weather and a chance to enjoy it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/05/2024 07:46

Morning. It's dull and overcast here. Not v. inspiring. I was met by the sight of chicken on the lawn this morning, because I forgot to shut them away. Mr Fox missed a chance there, fortunately!

BoringOfficeJob today, and today's reason for feeling knackered was, in addition to late-night freelancing talking to USA, DH hurt himself doing sporty stuff so I had to help patch him up when he got home and then do finish work, and then go to bed listen to all about how he did it.

Hurrah for tree-climbing, publishing sensation Floof! Another string to his bow!

Hope everyone has a good day and Fancy’s NewCollegue is efficient and helpful and that LetUs feels better. <Cwtch, Fuzzy Tom, FAF and other cold remedy/consolations>
Will send Dr Aramis and Dr Athos out on their rounds... and adds Dr Ennis for good measure

Also, FMInternetDriver which committed suicide yet again and had to be uninstalled/re-installed before I could post this.

ApricotCrush · 01/05/2024 16:48

Afternoon. Cloudy but warmer thank goodness.

Star for Floof, clever puss. I’d be terrified he wouldn’t be able to get down!

Hope the lurgy or whatever it is improves soon LetUs and MrHelen is alright.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/05/2024 19:36

Day off today since it's the 1st of May, International Workers Day (?), I think you're supposed to go in marches and stuff but I slept in instead and haven't done much.
Yesterday was Walpurgis Night and lots of celebration in nearby University town. Normal people was working though. It can be fun during the day with picknicks etc but in the evening I would stay away from the city, lots of drinking and fights, unfortunately lots of young people getting drunk for the first time. The police usually have their hands full.

Well done Floof ⭐

LetUsPrey · 01/05/2024 21:04

Evening wenches.

The daytime part of that sounds lovely Wicked, the evening part not so much. I agree with your plan of how you spent International Workers Day.

Warmer here too hurrah! But then absolutely lashed it down from about 5pm.

That sounds tiring Helen (and I don’t mean the late night USA call). Hope MrHelen is better soon.

Throat is better but head is achey, so what I did to make it better was lots of fiddly knitting and sewing up. Helen’s remedy seems better.

Definitely having an early night tonight.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/05/2024 22:24

Evening. I'm home and tired and being a cat bed.

Hurrah for a day off Wicked - we get next Monday off (first Monday in May to celebrate May Day, I think. And then the last Monday off as well because we can't have out bank holidays spaced out - nope. Hmm

Weather turned out really nice in the end and I was thoroughly overdressed for it. I'm sure I had something interesting to share, but apparently not. Also, I forgot to hit the 'post' button. <eye roll>

LetUsPrey · 02/05/2024 07:27

Morning wenches.

Not a great night’s sleep but still onwards and upwards <nlt>

I’ve just put out a line of washing. Amazing how much that perks me up.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/05/2024 07:31

Morning - all sunshiny here and the seedlings are out on the patio. I gather other places have thunder (keeps fingers crossed for Fancy)

DS has thanked me for sorting out his school bag for him Shock I thought he assumed that I lived to do that judging by the lack of any previous thanks Grin
Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 02/05/2024 16:41

Afternoon. Cloudy day, but bright and quite pleasant.

DS has two trays of seedlings in our lobby which gets whatever sun we have and he’s ridiculously happy with them poking their heads through the soil in the last couple of days. I must admit to going and having a peep at them occasionally. Hmm

Yay for day off, line of washing and thankful MiniHelen.

LetUsPrey · 02/05/2024 20:02

Evening wenches.

Woe is me etc. Went to work but felt crap most of the day.

Do you give the plants a little pep talk or a well done as you walk by Apricot?

A thank you from DS Helen? Crikey. DS2 brought most of the washing in today (left a dress as he wasn’t sure how to fold it). Perhaps the stars and planets have aligned or something.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/05/2024 21:56

Evening all. I have just been out to get the seedlings undercover - don't want then hammered by any overnight rain (which will probably turn out to be drizzle!) I was planning to do a load of washing tomorrow but possibly not, judging by the weather forecast.

Poor you LetUs - that's rubbish. Get wrapped up in cotton wool HBFs
<lobs in a pile of HBFs>

Apparently DS has had his last ever PE lesson Shock Exams in a week Shock

FancyFancy · 02/05/2024 23:22

Evening

I hope you are tucked up in bed letus <looks stern> - you need to be feeling better for Friday!

We did have some thunder helen - I woke up very briefly, so slept through most of it. Since then it has been a dull day indeed.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 03/05/2024 07:11

Morning wenches.

I was indeed in bed early, even went to sleep quite early too. Feel a bit better <tiny violin>

Eeeek at exams from next week Helen. He’ll be absolutely fine.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2024 07:45

Morning all. It's wet, and I'm tired, KillerKitty is traumatising has killed an unfortunate insect that crawled across the floor in front of him and is bored again now.

Awful night's sleep - woke up in the early hours with my brain whirring anxiously about stuff, and then when I eventually got to sleep I had a dream about taking IntelligentCat on a holiday with me, and then she vanished so I was searching everywhere for her and dreading having to tell DH and DS that I'd lost her. Then I turned around and she was just lying there like she'd been there all along. So phew, but I still woke up feeling v. stressed, and also a bit late (but better a bit late than waking up with her still missing in my dream!)

So, urgh. TFI, but I'd rather be in bed still.

Hope that LetUs;s early night worked and that everyone has a good day.
