Urgh LetUs - that's not fun. Sad Our 'heavy rain overnight' has translated to 2mm and light rain Hmm Oh well. Happy bank holiday weekend anyway Grin We also have not much in the way of plans.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/08/2024 15:56

Afternoon wenches. Hope all is well with everyone Smile

Just realised my trip to London is only a month away, must start planning Confused Smile

Been foodshopping today and got som good deals, always cheers me up.

Healthwise I'm kind of an enigma apparantly, I have several conditions and the surgeon can't figure all of them out. It looks like I have some kind of skin condition though, called Hidradenitis suppurativa, it's not much known about the condition so I'm going to be included in a research study at the dermatology clinic so that's good I guess.

I also need to get new glasses but been putting it off, and I also need a new phone.

Hope you had lots and lots of cake on your birthday Letus Smile

Being a cat bed is a very important job Apes Grin

Hope you get the headache sorted Helen Sad

That sounds like a lovely time Fancy Smile

Afternoon. Rain in the night and all morning, but it’s brightened up now.

I’ve had a frustrating day with people being incompetent. The chemist hadn’t got my blood pressure tablets yesterday but said they would order them and to phone today ‘after lunch’. So I phoned at 2 o’clock, no reply and when I looked at their website they close at 1 o’clock on a Saturday. They didn’t tell me that. 😡 Fortunately I’ve got a few emergency tablets, but they don’t know that.

Then I wanted to get into a savings account which is maturing but my account wasn’t recognised. I’ll have to phone on Monday or even Tuesday because of bank holiday, which will no doubt take hours. Nothing is easy. <grump>

<cwtch> WW, I hope they’re able to find out the cause. Anyway, you have your holiday to look forward to.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/08/2024 19:55

All the shopping for Wicked then (well, glasses and phone anyway.) The skin condition sounds horrible - poor you Sad

That's a sod of a day then apricot - more Sad it's so infuriating when things that should be simple, aren't.

It's been raining here most of the day, about 5mm worth (so lots of light rain). It has stopped now so I've had a brief stint in the garden chopping back a rampant shrub. One of the chickens is lame as well so I'm hoping that's nothing serious. I have to go and re-heat some food for the manshapes, who are on their way home.

LetUsPrey · 24/08/2024 20:50

Evening wenches.

Just going to pop this cushioning on this bit of wall in case Apricot needs to bang her head against it. And I agree, nothing is ever simple.

I don’t think we had rain today. Flipping windy still though.

I’ve heard about that condition Wicked and seen videos about it on YouTube. Hope they can find some positive treatment for you. Hurrah for food bargains though!

Haven’t done much today. Knitting patterns now tidy and reorganised.

LetUsPrey · 25/08/2024 07:58

Morning wenches.

We have sun! And hopefully the rain last night has tired itself out.

More or less a usual Sunday ahead. Quite boring which is absolutely fine by me.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/08/2024 10:35

Morning. Also sunny here. I should do something with today because it's nice out there. <continues to sit on sofa>

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/08/2024 11:46

On the couch binging Only Murders In The Building, quite entertaining. Not planning to do much else Smile

ApricotCrush · 25/08/2024 16:55

Afternoon. Bit of a miserable day with showers here and there.

DH has been at DS's doing some stuff for him on his house so I've been generally pottering and moving stuff around on the pretext of having a chuck-out. Hmm

Hope the lame chicken is alright Helen.

That sounds like a lovely day WW.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/08/2024 18:43

Evening all. Lame chicken has been out and about today, so I think recovery is in progress.

I have done stuff. Mostly cooking/prep and ripping out bindweed wherever I could find it. But enough of it to feel like I've had a productive day. The weather has been windy and (mostly) sunny, so I've had a load of washing through the machine as well. Had forgotten it's a bank holiday weekend until DS announced he would be willing to go clothes shopping tomorrow, pre-college. This will probably mostly be a trip to a supermarket to buy him some jeans. Thrilling stuff!

LetUsPrey · 25/08/2024 19:41

Evening wenches.

The sunshine did not last long and by late morning it was raining. It’s been raining on and off and windy all day. Went to see parents, LovelyMIL came round for lunch, and I’ve finished one of my smaller knitting projects.

Kind thoughts are with you for tomorrow Helen. The memories of holiday clothes shopping with DS2 are still fresh <twitches>

Good news re chicken.

Sounds like a very relaxing day Wicked.

We are very similar with the chucking out/moving stuff around thing Apricot.

LetUsPrey · 26/08/2024 08:15

Morning wenches.

Currently cloudy but who knows what August Bank Holiday has in store. Sun? Wind? Snow? Rain? All of the above?

Nothing particular planned other than ironing and possibly making a start putting together crochet squares for a blanket.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/08/2024 13:01

Morning. It was sunny when I got up to feed the animals, then I went back to bed and ended up with a run of those stupid dreams where you've woken up but you haven't <eye roll>

DH wants to go out and do a family thing - you can guess how enthusiastic DS is about that idea!

also, for reasons best know to itself, MN is giving me the spinning circle of doom and not posting this. Hmm at MN/internet

ApricotCrush · 26/08/2024 16:25

Afternoon. Nice day but I didn’t have enough washing for a load.

I’ve been continuing with the non-chucking out strategy. At least I’ve found stuff I’d forgotten since it was shoved to the back of cupboards to make way for DS’s things when he was with us. I’m now knitting.

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/08/2024 16:52

I'll just leave this here.

LetUsPrey · 26/08/2024 20:15

Evening wenches.

Not a good day then Wicked? <passes 🍷>

I suspect MiniHelen was about as enthusiastic as DS2 was when it was suggested we go out for a walk.

Have also been knitting and pottering about.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/08/2024 22:49

Evening. DS was dragged to he beach because the Escape Room was fully booked (unsurprising really). He was somewhat grumpy, but scrambled and hopped along the rocks, and got some outdoors-ness. I also did a quick food shop, and helped tidy up after hedge cutting.

Back to the grindstone tomorrow. Whoop.

passed Wine Gin Cake and Chocolate as necessary.

LetUsPrey · 27/08/2024 07:24

Morning wenches.

I do not in any way feel like I’ve had five days off work. I do know it was all going off at work last week so I’ll be able to see the current situation.

At least you got MiniHelen outdoors. DS2 got as far as the back garden as far as outdoors was concerned.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/08/2024 09:53

Morning all. Fingers crossed for work not being a disaster area LetUs! I need to crack on with mine.

I saw this today and thought of all those DH's providing long tedious explanations about what they're doing and why...

ApricotCrush · 27/08/2024 16:36

Afternoon. Cloudy and autumnal here. I’ve managed to do the jobs that went wrong on Friday so that’s something.

DGS brought his golf clubs this time but didn’t want to go to the driving range so he hasn’t been out of the house.

Hope you’re alright WW. That big block of chocolate should help.

So true Helen.

Hope work hasn’t been too bad for you all. DD went back for the first time in two weeks and was dreading it.

LetUsPrey · 27/08/2024 19:18

Evening wenches.

Tuesdays at work are usually crap. Today was Monday and Tuesday rolled into one. It’s a short week though. Big <squidge> to ApricotDD.

Yet more rain here and generally dismal.

That meme Helen GrinGrin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/08/2024 22:18

Evening. I worked. Nothing exciting happened. This is fine.

The weather has been rather nice here - warm and sunny enough to get out on my bike in shorts/t-shirt, and the combine has been chugging away in the field over the road.

LetUsPrey · 28/08/2024 07:19

Morning wenches.

My plan to strip the beds so I could get the bedding in the machine last night ready for this morning fell at the first hurdle as I forgot. Just as well as it’s raining and the skies aren’t getting any lighter. I believe there are some dry days ahead.

Weird dreams again which do not make for restful sleep. Short day though so hurrah!

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/08/2024 07:42

Morning all. Sunny and high cloud, but cool enough to make me throw a fleece on before I went out to feed everything.

I don't remember the dreams, but I don't feel like I slept very well. <shares matchsticks with LetUs> Also, it's hornet season - they're battering at the windows at night when lights are on, and we've had to eject one already where I accidentally left DS's bedroom window open. He was very understanding about the whole things and not in the least grumpy with me. Not.

ApricotCrush · 28/08/2024 16:24

Afternoon. Rain overnight, but I went to post a parcel earlier and it's gone quite warm. Smile

They went to the driving range but DGS didn't do well and "isn't going to play again". I told him that that's how it goes, and if everyone thought that there wouldn't be any professionals. Hmm

I have horrible dreams but I just tell myself it's my medication. Fortunately I don't remember many of them, just wake up knowing I've had them.
