Aaargghhh at roadworks near home Apricot. There’s some on my way to/from work which are scheduled to finish today. They did not look nearly finished on my way home today. Suppose the periods of crappy weather could have affected over the many weeks they’ve been there.

LetUsCat used to do speedy eating and then sometimes sick. Conversation went like this

DS2 has installed himself in the back room AKA my knitting room. I’m having to watch football with DH.

I have had a headless chicken day trying to fit work in around all the things I forgot I needed to do today - it's been a bit tiring. <tiny violin>

Back in the office today, felt like a short weekend owing to having to catch up from last week.

Got a new phone yesterday as my old one was losing functionality at an alarming rate, seemed to spend most of yesterday evening transferring stuff over from my old one & setting preferences etc. Reinforced my dislike of getting a new phone Anyhoo, it's working & most stuff is sorted, just need to get better sounding notification etc. sounds as the pre-installed ones are universally irritating - probably a downside of getting a cheap phone. The pre-installed wallpapers were also grim, but luckily that was easily fixed.

Afternoon all. Yesterday's headache continued into this morning so it was a slow start, followed by opticians (which I forgot about yesterday) and shopping. Back home to crack on with work now.

Afternoon. Rain all morning but it’s been sunny since. I tried to sit outside but the wind was really cold. The washing dried though.

I need a new phone Fancy. It’s fine for phone calls, emails, WhatsApp and as a camera but that’s it. Everything else has stopped working. I’m putting off getting a new one.

Hope the birthday wench has had a good day. It’s DD’s birthday too but she says she’s not bothered about doing anything to celebrate.

Hope the headache’s gone Helen, you do seem to get a lot of them.

Had a lovely morning pre-work and then a lovely evening. The bit in the middle was varying levels of frustration at other people being awkward.

I have promised DH that I will keep a headache diary, so that I can wave it at a GP at some point. #tedious I just assume that mine are down to not drinking enough water and squinting at screens too much. And compared to Madame they are nothing at all, but DH gets a bit stressy about them and wants me to go to the Dr.

Birthdays should be full of fuss and attention from your family. And cake. Lots of cake. And the drink of your choice. And sunshine too at this time of year. Glad you had a good day (mostly) LetUs and hope that ApricotDD also enjoyed her day even if she didn't want a fuss.

I agree with MrHelen. Note down headache information. Just because they’re not horrible migraine extra level doesn’t mean they’re not having an adverse effect on your day to day life and causing you pain. I’m being stern now <peers over glasses, although that’s also partly because I still haven’t done anything about new glasses> But still, STERN.

I've been sorting photos for the year so far into albums. I tend to leave them for months and then it's a huge job catching up.

I think DD enjoyed her day as she was off from work and there was some sun in the afternoon.

It’s been windy all day and been doing that thing where the skies go dark and look like it’s going to rain a lot, but just does a few drops.

You’d be alright with LittleSis for photo sorting Apricot. It’s like one of her superpowers.

I’m watching a BBC4 programme about trains - train journeys that time forgot. So journeys like The Cornish Riviera Express, or the Flying Scotsman route from Edinburgh to London. The journeys are still there but this is about what it was like in the 1920/30s. It’s way way more interesting than it sounds. Honest.

Work was worky. Mostly boring, and then gridlocked traffic so getting home was very grim. urgh.

Shall be spending first day off going for blood test as part of annual health check up, making flapjacks and then not much else planned. Was supposed to be at a festival with BestFriend but the acts weren’t anything ooooo so we decided against it. Quite glad now as this bloody awful weather seems to be across a lot of the country. Kept the days off work though

Morning all. Yesterday I put a coat over my t-shirt to feed the chickens because it wasn't the warmest - today the coat was needed for rain. (Hurrah! Rain! Though obvs the farmers trying get get the harvest in won't be best pleased.)

Afternoon. Cloudy and windy, I haven’t left the house so don’t know what the temperature is.

Today I have been mostly tackling the mountain of ironing and knitting. Also being a cat bed.

Ooof wenches. Results day is done. DS got the necessary grades, but it took until just before 5pm before college finally confirmed that he had a place. No stress (or fingernails)!

Was surprisingly warm when I left the house this morning. Ran a couple of errands, made the flapjacks, pinned out crochet squares, pottered and knitted.

Have had friends staying for the last couple of days which has been lovely - catching up & listening to music & I was treated to dinner one night too. Chonk & Floof were predictably spooked by it all, so I expect lots of attention will be demanded from me now that the house is back to normal & they have emerged from under the beds.

Afternoon. Nice day, I tried sitting in the sun but the wind was too cold when the clouds came over.

Evening. late start to the morning so I was eating breakfast while I worked. Fortunately DH was up early and did all the morning chores. Manshapes are now out and I have the house to myself.

I've managed to get a load of washing out and dried on the line without it blowing away to another coutry, so that was handy. I think it's meant to rain overnight/tomorrow.

I must get out on my bike and get some exercise...
