Evening all. Also cloudy here with no rain yet.

Head improved with the GP-sanctioned asprin dose. "Take 3 at once."

Work has been workish. Then I tried to get my head round pension stuff. Now I've rather tired.

Hope that Fancy has had a nice day admiring thiiiighs sporting excellence. I was watching the gymnasts on iplayer this morning - people falling off stuff all over the place. Then the kayaking which was bonkers. All good entertainment.

LetUsPrey · 05/08/2024 20:39

Evening wenches.

WorkTown looked okay this morning thankfully. Hopefully the local businesses didn’t suffer any or too much damage.

Always been arseholes ready to jump into any trouble but the social media aspect does seem to have ramped things up. Perhaps they should try using their organisational skills for something useful.

Was following the BBC Olympics commentary online and couldn’t believe the number of gymnasts falling off stuff. Also enjoyed the description of the kayak cross. Got the pole vault on now (mad) and waiting for the women’s 800m 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

LetUsPrey · 06/08/2024 06:48

Morning wenches.

Rampant indigestion/trapped wind yesterday evening which then faded a bit but came back when I was trying to get to sleep. If I was a baby or toddler, I’d be doing the overtired crying thing.

Rain overnight but seems to be a bit sunny this morning.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/08/2024 09:39

Oh LetUs <cwtch> Sad
I will send Dr Aramis to help - he's good with babies too so should be able to help with trapped wind etc.

Sunny here at the mo, though according to BBC we have thunder later, and some rain. We'll see...

DH has an eye test later, so I'm tagging along to choose another set of long distance glasses which aren't in the same frame as my reading/computer ones. What was I thinking?! I'm confused enough already without having different strength glasses in the same frames! I'm keeping the confusing pair in the car, to avoid getting the all mixed up. I hope. Confused

Afternoon. Also headachey here, weather not helping, hoping tea and ibuprofen will sort that, along with a dose of Leon commentary - am catching up with the diving from earlier.

The gymnastics yesterday was nuts - never seen so many people falling off stuff. Athletics was fab as was the cycling. Nice to see Magi still racing too 😁

ApricotCrush · 06/08/2024 17:12

Afternoon. Rain overnight but it's been a nice day. DGS forgot his golf clubs, so there wasn't any driving range today. Hmm

I had a headache this morning too, must be the weather. Paracetamol sorted it.

Haven't had time to keep up with the Olympics but I did see Keely from last night. She was so excited. Smile

LetUsPrey · 06/08/2024 20:55

Evening wenches.

Loved watching Keely last night and then seeing her get her medal today. She got all teary which was lovely.

Fortunately it wasn’t too busy at work for a change which was just as well as I would have been useless.

Is Doctor Aramis packing any Gaviscon <nae> in his pockets?

Headaches all over the shop <restocks Tav paracetamol store>

Grin at glasses being too similar Helen. It’s difficult enough finding one frame that looks right, never mind another two.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/08/2024 22:07

Evening all. We had a couple of mm. rain this afternoon, but no thunder.

Work was workish, I have new glasses on order - took forever to pick a pair, the poor sales bod ended up pulling open the back-up cupboard of 'glasses not on display yet'. I'm not convinced I haven't just gone 'sod it, they'll do', but time will tell. DH also has glasses on order.

Saw some speed climbing, bouldering and skateboarding today. They're all mental! Hurrah for thingy who won the women's skateboard medal for GB - they all looked very chilled and happy for each other in the competition - like watching warmer snowboarders wearing fewer clothes. Grin

Knocked another headache out with asprin this morning, Am hoping very much that the weather cools down and that the headaches all FTFO for everyone. <passes round damp towels to wrap round heads>

What a pain re. the golf Apricot.

I must go and get lunch ready for tomorrow.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/08/2024 07:25

Morning. It is sunny and cool outside. No idea what the forecast is though. Lots of geese about as well, honking away. Both cats are snoozing and it's all nice and peaceful. (If that talks up a bout of chaos, they can just hold off until I'm out the door, then DH can deal with whatever!)

I gather I need to catch up with shenanigans on the 1500m from yesterday.

Have a good day all.

<passes gaviscon to LetUs>

LetUsPrey · 07/08/2024 07:27

Morning wenches.

Love that description for the skateboarders! Saw a few clips of the speed climbers - mad.

I’ve put a reminder in my phone about an optician appointment for me because I’ve still not done it.

Very cloudy today with rain due which is unhelpful as I have things to dry outside. Tut.

Have super days wenches.

FancyFancy · 07/08/2024 11:42

Morning.
Chilling in front of the athletics this morning after an earlier than planned start as the window cleaners turned up early. Headache refusing to go, suspect it's related to the general under-the-weather feeling. Contemplating testing for COVID - I haven't had it for nearly a year, so it's about time 😂

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 07/08/2024 17:42

Afternoon. Cloudy but quite warm. I went out this morning to do some local jobs and it went very heavy overhead but didn’t rain.

I’m the same as you with the opticians LetUs. I’ve been in there twice to try to choose some frames and can’t make a decision so I keep putting off making an appointment. I’m going to end up with ‘sod it, they’ll do’ ones like Helen.

Hope you feel better soon Fancy.

LetUsPrey · 07/08/2024 20:35

Evening wenches.

Cloudy, chilly and windy today and some rain.

Listening to sirens all the live long day at work today. Angry And places close to home are in trouble too. Could do with a lot of rain.

Happy Covid test anniversary Fancy!

I got as far as looking at the appointments on the optician’s website today but didn’t actually book anything.

Have been watching cycling and athletics. Will definitely have an early night.

FancyFancy · 07/08/2024 21:49

Test was negative, so not sure what's going on. Mind you, the tests left are probably well past their use by date, so who knows! At least the ibuprofen worked this afternoon, so that was a relief.

Fingers crossed it doesn't get bad near you letus <cwtches>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/08/2024 22:24

Evening all. <cwtch> for LetUs - hope all's ok.

Do you need Dr Aramis Fancy? I suspect that you do. A thorough examination is needed, etc.

Work was all spreadsheets and reconciling month-end finances. And feeling tired. <yawns>

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/08/2024 06:48

Hope things are better today Letus

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2024 06:59

Morning wenches.

Thanks wenches, I think we’ve been lucky not to have it anywhere near as bad as the cities and the larger towns but it’s still a bit worrying. It’s handy for bringing out some folk’s true colours though because they feel “brave” enough to voice their opinions IYSWIM.

Rain due today. Anywench want some?

Hope you feel properly better soon Fancy.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/08/2024 09:56

Clear blue skies and sunny here his morning so I've been outside watering. Yes please LetUs - a good day of steady rain would be handy - not so heavy that it runs off faster than it soaks in though. Please could you arrange that, oh weather goddess? Grin

We had an anti racism demo in LocalCity, to counter the few ill-informed anti-refugee people who turned up, but apparently it all went off without a hitch. More on Saturday though, according to the newspaper. Loved the photos online yesterday of the rasict protesters being hugely outnumbered by anti-racism marchers.

Have a good day all
<sets HBFs to gently waft fans at over-heating wenches>
<sets more HBFs to provide refreshing drinks>
<puts Athos firmly on fan-wafting duties>
<adds random fruit to the mix Wink >

Afternoon. We've had rain, but not enough to do much good.

We're going to the caravan tomorrow, the forecast doesn't look too good, but it doesn't matter. We went to Sainsbury's to get some supplies this afternoon. I hate taking DH with me, it takes twice as long as it should and I spend twice as much. Hmm

I'll try to keep in touch.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/08/2024 19:04

It's clouded over and got windy this afternoon. And clearly rained a bit at some point because the grass is wet, but I never noticed and the patio is dry.

Have a lovely break at the caravan Apricot.

LetUsPrey · 08/08/2024 20:16

Evening wenches.

Clearly we have everyone’s rain here. Got soaked, even with a coat on, walking to the car at 5. Was going to say it had stopped but it’s just started up again.

Was that in Brighton Helen? It did look quite Grin

Is fan-wafting <tae>?

Even though DH does the shopping, I don’t like the rare occasions when I go with him. It’s not that he buys extra, but he’s so flipping slow. Drives me batty.

Safe journey tomorrow Apricot.

LetUsPrey · 09/08/2024 07:25

Morning wenches.

One forecast says white cloud and a gentle breeze which explains why it’s raining and the tree next door is being blown to an interesting angle. Still, it’s Friday so hurrah for that.

Have a lovely time away Apricot.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/08/2024 08:56

Morning. No idea what our forecast says, but we have light rain and clouds. and it's windy still. KillerKitty is absolutely batshit this morning. I need to crack on and log into work.

Hope everyone has a good day.

LetUsPrey · 09/08/2024 21:39

Evening wenches.

Quite busy at work. Mixture of many things weather wise.

Got a bit teary watching some of the athletics, or at least when one of the events had finished. Flipping loved the sport climbing.

Have been sewing up a knitted cardigan/jacket for one of the family babies. First time I’ve added a hood to something. It looks okay. I always underestimate how long the finishing off things like this take so it’s still not quite finished. Put it to one side now as I’m tired.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/08/2024 22:03

Evening. Was out during the athletics - poop. Oh well. I'll see the highlights, though DS is currenlty revisiting his younger days and watching a cartoon Avengers series Hmm

Work was busy and a bit boring, but I managed not to chug down chocolate or biscuits, so yay! (I put a summer dress on for work on Weds and discovered that I have filled out a bit since last summer, so I'm trying not to snack on sweet stuff so much and lose some of the food baby.)

Hope that apricot has arrived safely and everyone's had a good day.
