Morning wenches.

Well that didn’t exactly go as planned last night but DS2 seemed to be over it very quickly which is a new one.

Back to work noooooooooooooooo

I shall continue to wenchy squidge you Fancy, except for when Chonk is on your lap as I don’t want to scare him off.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/07/2024 08:58

Morning all. Nice and sunny outside, so I'd put the washing on, except I forgot to get DS to put his laundry basket out last night. So that will have to wait.

Also sending continuing <cwtches> for Fancy.

I need to crack on with work because I stupidly said yes to a new project last week Sad

ApricotCrush · 15/07/2024 16:38

Afternoon. The forecast was good this morning so I got a wash out. It started raining after a couple of hours. I’m so tired of this weather.

Grin at Alcatraz and no-one escaping him. He’s brilliant. The less said about the other match of the day the better. <sigh>

Yay for pottering Fancy but sorry about the parental issues. [cwtch]

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2024 19:45

Evening wenches.

I must say after being off for two weeks and then back at work for one day that, on balance and in all honesty, I’m really not right keen on this work malarkey. However, because the lottery organisers have selfishly not yet seen fit to draw out our numbers for the jackpot, there doesn’t seem to be an alternative. So unacceptable.

I really will have an early night tonight.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/07/2024 20:43

Pfft at lottery organisers. They're just Rude. Though DS has won the euromillions a couple of times. I think he got as much as £2.57 once Hmm

I also managed to get a wash on the line, then had to pull it in due to rain. But it is mostly dry, and will be completely dry by tomorrow morning.

Work has been busy but also v. frustrating because I was promised a spreadsheet on Friday and it's still not arrived . FFS.

I'm having an early night too. Come on LetUs - Aramis is waiting for you in the hayloft.

FancyFancy · 15/07/2024 21:30

Evening. Thanks for the squidges and catches, and Chonk says thanks for not doing them when he's sitting on me as he admits he is a massive wuss.

Have had a lazy day with FancyMan, didn't feel like going far as the forecast was drizzle followed by rain. Have been watching the Tour de France highlights - some interesting racing this year but no-one who's catching my wenchy eye.

Morning wenches.

I suspect he would have fallen asleep by the time I got there Helen. Got a lateish message from AuntiesNotAunties who needed help with “is this a decent washing machine etc we’ve been looking at” and it needed a response fairly straight away.

I think of you every time I see the trailer for the Tour de France Fancy.

Quite rainy overnight and it’s still going.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2024 08:53

Morning all. Cloudy and damp here, but not raining. There's 1.5cm in the rain gauge, so it must have tipped it down overnight at some point. DH has his car booked in for a service/MOT, then work demanded an office visit, so muggins here has no car today. Not really an issue tbh, since DS has a gaggle of teens round again and I will be on 'responsible adulting' duties.

I also have yet another headache so have chugged down drugs and am keeping fingers crossed that tomorrow's new glasses will knock them on the head.

Was it a decent washing machine LetUs?

That sounds like a very nice day Fancy. Continuing <cwtches> re. parent stuff. MIL has a full on memory test thing today. Hopefully this time they will actually notice that she will initiate the same conversation three times in 10 minutes without her realising. Sad

ApricotCrush · 16/07/2024 16:49

Afternoon. Another cloudy day with showers, but it's brightened up a bit now.

Well, that was our last school pick-up for DGS at his current school. It's a three tier system where he lives and he goes on to high school next term. Can't believe he's been there for four years.

I remember my Mum having one of those memory tests Helen, she was much the same and did get a diagnosis. Sad Fingers crossed for the new glasses.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2024 17:20

Afternoon all.

Help wenches! How do I deal with teenage DS and girlfriend, and that talk. I just had to go in and do the 'no shutting the bedroom door' chat, and "Don't make me walk in and see anything that would freak you out if it was me and your father." How do I marry that up with 'if you're going to fool around, I'd rather you did it in the safety of the house but I don't want to know of/see/hear/guess any evidence'

argh. cringe. argh.

LetUsPrey · 16/07/2024 22:11

Evening wenches.

Eeeek Helen! I think your suggestions are good ones, but I’m no help. DS1 waited until he was at university (and I know no different anyway) and DS2 doesn’t have anyone round and doesn’t go out.

Time is flying by Apricot!

LovelyMIL has also been having memory tests etc. There have been some obvious moments of confusion which are becoming more frequent.

Work was the usual.

It was indeed a good washing machine Helen.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/07/2024 07:22

Morning wenches. It's quite pleasant out - night cloud and a bit of blue sky. I haven't seen the forecast though, so there could be 'end of days' thunder clouds rolling in. I might check the forecast before I head off to work in sandals and summer clothes.

Have a good day all!

<worships at the alter of good washing machines>
<side-eyes at chaise>
<burns cover>

LetUsPrey · 17/07/2024 07:22

Morning wenches.

Sun is shining! Gasp! In July! Do I risk leaving the house without a coat?

Bit of shopping to do after work and then when I get home I plan to do at least some of the ironing that’s built up from the holiday washing. I know, you’re jealous right?

Have super days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 17/07/2024 17:38

Afternoon. The day started with sun and a clear blue sky but by mid-morning it had disappeared.

Oh Helen, I think you’ve done all you can do. I always had age-appropriate talks with both of ours and told them that if they had any questions to ask me rather than their friends, who sometimes had some rather weird ideas. I was never aware of anything going on but I did once meet a strange girl on the landing in the middle of the night who DS had apparently brought home from a night out. Shock I think there were goings on when we went on holiday without them, but they were much older than your DS then. I just made sure that they knew how to keep themselves safe, but it is worrying. <cwtch>

Have a good evening all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/07/2024 21:53

Evening all. It's been lovely weather here today, very warm. I went to work with my raincoat, which didn't leave the car, so I take full credit for the nice weather. (It would have rained if I hadn't taken the coat, obvs.)

I have new glasses, which I'm getting used to. MiL has been diagnosed with the early stages of dementia, and been given drugs to help slow it down. DH is annoyed because he's been telling them for several years to push the Dr's to take it seriously. So they've lost several years of trying to slow it down Sad. Still, at least they've got a diagnosis now there should be more support available if needed.

in other news, Amazon is being an arse - DH wanted to order something and it changed price mid-way through the order and then refused to deliver to our address. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 17/07/2024 21:54

Evening wenches.

I did in fact take a coat with me, just in case you were wondering Grin

Went to work, quick errand in town, dropped off birthday cards, then did all the ironing when I got home. Tired now,

Absolutely definitely having an early night.

FancyFancy · 17/07/2024 22:17

Evening.

Sympathies on all fronts helen although I am secretly jealous of getting the diagnosis! We're still waiting and the meantime I lost another hour of my working day to a phone call. I also had a call from the police when I was in the car on my way to a work do earlier this evening - good job I never answer when I'm driving Grin Long story short, I'm back at the computer making up the hours.....

I feel fortunate that talk was precipitated by DS's GF's mum alerting me to having found the pill in her room, so at least I was able to start with 'I'm relieved you're being sensible and taking precautions'. And the request for discretion is always good - pointing out that you don't want to hear him having sex any more than he wants to hear you Grin <shudders>

Argh Fancy - massive <cwtch>

In other news, I've just cancelled someone's Hulu account that they signed up to with my email. I have their paypal details (email) and I'm tempted to tell them what they did, but I'll probably just ignore it and let them sign up again with their own email address.

LetUsPrey · 18/07/2024 07:31

Morning wenches.

Blimey wenches are going through it just now. <cwtches> all round.

We’ll send the clones to work and doing chores and shopping, and wenches can stay in the Tav garden with whatever method of relaxation <ylt or nlt> they choose.

Sunny and warm again, ready for tha storm at the weekend.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/07/2024 09:47

Morning. It's sunny here too - hurrah. Nothing planned apart from work, though obviously I'd prefer lounging about in the Tav garden with wenches.

ApricotCrush · 18/07/2024 17:31

Afternoon. Beautiful day. I did some washing last night and put it out to be darked on and it was all ironed and put away by 11 o’clock this morning. Then I cleaned some windows which looked shocking in the sun. Shock. It’s amazing how motivating a lovely day can be.

Oh Fancy that sounds rough.

LetUsPrey · 18/07/2024 21:02

Evening wenches.

Blimey Apricot that is efficient! You’re right that the good weather makes a difference.

Went to work which was the usual. Am yawning away.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/07/2024 21:59

Evening. Has been a lovely hot and sunny day. Would much rather have been outside chilling. Ho hum. Have just cancelled that Hulu subscription again, this time on live chat with a very helpful person. So hopefully that's the last of it.

LetUsPrey · 19/07/2024 07:25

Morning wenches.

What a pain Helen.

It feels warm here but it’s very cloudy. Friday though so hurrah for that!

I suppose I should get on with the morning routine. Urgh.

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 19/07/2024 17:26

Afternoon. Another lovely day. Washing on the line, jackets this time, a trip to Lidl and then this afternoon I’ve been in the garden reading and doing sudokus. Thunder storms forecast for tomorrow. Hmm

That’s a pain about the Hulu subscriptions Helen, how on earth did that happen?
