Morning all.

LOL at the Very Angry Wren, is sounds like it should be the title of a children's book.

I thought I'd posted last night, but obviously not. DS has been shipped off to a pre-college residential thingy for a night (up at 5am - urgh) so I'm feeling a bit wabbit already, what with the weekend's unusual sleep patterns. I should be getting things though...
<sends Clone off to do stuff and goes back to bed>

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/06/2024 09:10

Glad you enjoyed the concert as well Fancy Smile And now a very important question, what kind of cheese was it?

FancyFancy · 24/06/2024 13:32

Afternoon

There was a goats cheese (lovely with onion chutney), a mellow blue cheese and QuitePossiblyTheNicestStiltonI'veEverHad <drools>

Afternoon. It’s very warm but cloudy.

Our passports are out of date. Hopefully I will be spared the trauma of having another photo taken as we have no plans to go abroad again, although you never know.

Grin at Floof being shouted at by a wren.

LetUsPrey · 24/06/2024 20:12

Evening wenches.

I freely acknowledge I am far from the cleverest person in the world but by god I work with some thick people. Or perhaps they’re lazy. Or thoughtless.

DH bought some nice cheeses at the weekend. Might treat myself to a nibble <nae> tomorrow evening.

<throws sheet over Helen> <not in a dead body kind of way> <in a too hot for a blanket kind of way>

Warm here too but quite stuffy. Must check my driving licence for the expiry date, the photograph talk has reminded me. What a treat.

Bought The Running Grave at the weekend as it’s out in paperback now. Saving it to take on holiday. Fortunately we’re not going anywhere where we have to take into account luggage allowances Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/06/2024 21:54

Evening all. Am a bit tired. I planned to finish work early, but that didn't happen. Still it's been warm enough to dry two loads of washing.

Have you considered that your colleagues could be all three LetUs - thick, lazy and thoughtless? I find it can be a common combination.

On that note, I shall wave vaguely in the direction of wenches and wench cats and crawl up to bed.

LetUsPrey · 25/06/2024 07:20

Morning wenches.

Oh I think that’s definitely the case with a few of them Helen.

Going to be warm again today although is currently cloudy.

Have excellent days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 25/06/2024 16:34

Afternoon. It’s hoooooottttttt! I’m not complaining though. I was searching the house this morning for washing.

I haven’t even read the Strike book before The Running Grave, must get up to date. about the luggage allowance.

We have to renew our driving licences every three years now. I don’t bother to change my photo but I’ll soon be unrecognisable.

I expect it will be footie this evening.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/06/2024 20:49

It's been roasting and I'm knackered - having been multitasking with freelancing and helping Dad all day, plus fetching DS who is home again now. That's about all. Except I have to get stuff ready for tomorrow's early start. Urgh, etc.
<crawls into kitchen>

LetUsPrey · 25/06/2024 21:36

Evening wenches.

It’s been a day and a half at work and I was more glad than usual when it got to 5pm.

I feel like I’m wasting the nice weather by not having any washing done, but I don’t think I’ve enough for a full load. Unless…. <eyes up dressing gowns>

<sprays Helen with caffeinated cooling spray which I have decided is a thing>

Football on here obviously. Not exactly a thrill a minute.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/06/2024 05:26

Morning all. Caffeinated cooling spray should definitely be a thing.

The good thing about 5am is it's cool and quiet (also misty<nto>). The bad thing is it's 5am. I tried to get to bed at a sensible hour, only for DS to suddenly get all chatty and sociable when I tried to get to bed - not the best timing, but ho hum.

Have a good day all.

LetUsPrey · 26/06/2024 07:25

Morning wenches.

They pick their moments don’t they Helen?

I’ve a wash on and I’ve done some dishes. Early finish but dentist after. Such a treat!

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 26/06/2024 16:02

Afternoon. Another hot day. I didn’t have enough washing for a full load so I feel I’ve wasted a good drying day too.

I cleaned the fridge this morning that DS was using when he was here. You couldn’t see the state it was in when it was so full. Blush Anyway I can use it again now.

Hope the dentist visit wasn’t too bad LetUs and Helen coped with the early start.

LetUsPrey · 26/06/2024 20:57

Evening wenches.

Work was non-stop, not helped by failing equipment. Dentist wasn’t an expensive as I’d feared although still spendy. My cordial and tea both still taste weird after the treatment. Poor poor me,

Anything nice in the fridge Apricot? <gets a plate>

I think our warm weather is done now for a little while.

FancyFancy · 26/06/2024 21:31

Evening. Very warm here, hoping tomorrow is cooler as it's back to the client for me so that means a long commute.

In nicer news, DD got her degree results today - a 2.1, so a celebratory dinner is being planned for the weekend.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/06/2024 21:56

Excellent news re. FancyDD.

It's been absolutely baking here today - revolting amounts of heat given that I wasn't allowed to just snooze in the shade! Tomorrow's not much better from what I can tell. Then on Friday, once I'm not so busy, it cools down again. <whinge, whinge, etc>

Hope that LetUs's tooth is better/things don't taste weird any more. Did you get into the fridge Apricot - that feels like a good use for fridges today!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/06/2024 05:38

Morning all. 5am rinse and repeat. Though it's not so misty this morning and the sunrise was hazy pink and gold. IdiotKitty is a bit bored... lots of prowling and chirruping. Although he's already had a bird - there was a small pile of wing feathers on the grass by his hideyhole. Sad

LetUsPrey · 27/06/2024 07:10

Morning wenches.

Excellent FancyDD, well done!

Poor birdy Helen.

We’re about 10° cooler today and cloudy. Might even need a coat as there’s rain forecast.

I think the weird taste has gone. Better have, can’t have my cups of tea spoiled!

Have super days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 27/06/2024 17:06

Afternoon. Still warm but not as hot as yesterday. I couldn’t sleep last night and went and sat in another room with the window open to cool off.

The fridge is in the garage and is mainly used for wine and beer and overflow from the kitchen fridge which is an undercounter one and not always big enough when I’ve done a shop.

Very well done to FancyDD. Star

LetUsPrey · 27/06/2024 21:49

Evening wenches.

BestFriend has a separate wine fridge in the garage. Clearly this is the way to go! Bit extreme though for us as we’d have to build a garage first Grin

Cooler and then flipping windy as the day went on. Some rain a bit earlier.

Work was bleurgh, traffic was even more bleurgh, and then DS2 was having a strop about something when I got home. Woohooooo!

LetUsPrey · 28/06/2024 07:36

Morning wenches.

Well summer was nice. We seem to be into autumn now with wind and rain and where did I put that jumper.

Last day at work today and then I’m off for two weeks. Hurrah! Lots of house stuff and taking DS2 shopping the first week and then holiday.

Have lovely, properly summer days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/06/2024 08:44

Morning all. Woke up at 4:30... then went back to sleep. Hurrah! Have fed livestock and watered plants and now havgin breakfast
Now it's hard to see what I'm typing because then I typed the time, the computer or MN has thown up a selection of clock faces for me to choose form. WTF?

Anyway. it's nice and sunny and wamr here still, though much windier and forecast to be cooler I think. (lost my screen again - hidden behind the clocks)
Am v. tired and achy from the past few days (and a bit sunburnt) and generally not looking forward to getting back intot BoringPOfficeJob headspace.

And I wish these clocks would FTFO.

Have a good last day at work LetUs, and hope that Fancys has been getting on at with client visits,

ApricotCrush · 28/06/2024 16:40

Afternoon. Much cooler and cloudy here, but no rain. I’ve been sorting out the bedroom DS was using and putting my stuff back in there. Amazing what you’ve forgotten you’ve got.

Yay for holiday LetUs, but Hmm at random clocks Helen.

Have a lovely evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 28/06/2024 21:11

Evening wenches.

Absolutely did not misread random clocks.

Rain and wind. What a change from a couple of days ago.

But who cares because freeeeeeeeeeeeee woohoooooo! Work was a bastard today with lots of rush jobs but got them done and now holiday!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/06/2024 22:46

<snoooooooooooooort> at misreading 'Random CLocks Grin

It's been mostly hot today but cooler than yesterday. MN is now throwing emoji suggestions and me and not getting read of them until I choose one (then delete it) Wonder if that works for the clock thing. yep. If I'd picked a clock-face and then deleted it, that would have worked. WTF.

Hurrah for the weekend tomorrow - this week has been very disjointed what with the midweek early starts.
