Did manage to go for a short walk after work today as tomorrow will involve a lot of sitting down - a long day at work and then the drive home. Hoping traffic will be light if I go when the England game is on.

DS has finished! I'm not sure who will be most relived that we don't have to nag him about revision any more! Worryingly, he's invited friends round on Friday. Which is lovely, but also, OMG Visitors? With the state of the house [horror]

DS2 is also done for the college year.

Need to get going. There’s already a wash on the line and I’ve got a knitted blanket soaking which will need to come out of the soak in about five minutes.

Evening wenches. Warm out but not sunny. Oh the joy of being able to hang washing out without having to negotiate around tomato, bean and sweetcorn plants. They’ve all gone, I hope they survived the move. Also gone are a frying pan and cheese grater of mine which I know he took a liking to. I didn’t use them anyway so it doesn’t matter. There’s probably more which I haven’t discovered yet!

Yay for finished exams and at secret college trip.

Journey was not too bad - bit more traffic than expected, but very little queuing.

Chonk and Floof were very pleased to see me & look like they have piled on a few pounds DD has almost won Floof round, but Chonk spent a lot of time skulking under beds apparently. Large black & white cat was sitting outside the closed patio doors yesterday evening - not sure if he/she is spoiling for a fight or wants to make friends with them.

I have a houseful of teenagers and am working to a soundtrack of teenagers and Star Wars sound effects (they're having a Star Wars marathons - just the first three films ) and also garden machinery and next-doors-chickens noise outside. Intelligent Cat has installed herself on my lap and I'm staring blankly at MN spreadsheets. IntelligentCat has got off and is yowling for... what?? IdiotKitty is very unsettled by everything.

It may be a long day...

Today was actually rather lovely. DS turns out to have a lovely bunch of friends, and yes they were noisy and quite disruptive, but just... it was fun - they were fun (and polite and chatty) and DS really enjoyed himself and I don't think there were any moments of mortifying parental embarrassment.

In less enjoyable news I put washing through the machine without realising that the seal needed cleaning, so it came out dirtier and had to be re-washed (after a scrub and hot wash on empty for the machine).

Now it is late and we're off to mini-meet/gig-at-big-city tomorrow so I really need to try and make sure I'm organised for that!

I went over to nice landladies with some chantarelles I picked yesterday and they offered me a glass of wine, and then another one, and then another one, and also a ”nubbe” or two, I’m not sure, and also a herring cake, so I’m a bit tipsy now 🍷

Evening. Quite a nice day, sunny now. We went to DS’s house this morning. I thought he was mad to move out there but it’s a lovely little village and his house is perfect for him, a big garden, room for his DC to stay, sheep and horses in the fields and nice walks for them. We think he’s fallen on his feet; hope so after all the shit he’s been through.

Today I bought some flower plants that I planted in pots outdoors, I'm not a gardening type but it's nice with some flowers

BestFriend who I was out with last night saw Foo Fighters on Thursday. It was her fourth attempt to see them and she was very pleased that she did! I imagine she’ll be feeling even more knackered than I am.

I’m the same with getting rid of stuff Apricot. In my head I throw stuff out but when it comes to it, I can’t do it, or not as much as I should.

That’s more effort than I make at gardening Wicked . Loathe getting photo done for passport or driving licence.

Have baked and washed and ironed and visited and knitted. DS1 and his girlfriend have been round which was super lovely. I’m now being brave and watching the football with DH and DS2.

Foo Fighters were indeed very fab Am still pretty tired after a late night & am dosed up on antihistamines - got bitten around the eyebrow & frankly look like a boxer who got a bit of pasting. That hasn't stopped me from enjoying the cheese that Elk brought or the wine from helen this evening

I'm not sure any wenches saw Chonk. Poor Floof was a little braver & did venture out from under beds but got totally spooked by people being in rooms where he didn't expect them. So when everyone left he stayed hiding away for quite a bit while Chonk & I pottered around the garden. He did finally emerge, mostly to try to camouflage himself in some shrubbery. Unsuccessfully. He was being shouted at by a wren for ages. The wren was so incensed that the twig it was shouting from was vibrating with rage.

Poor Floof with his unsuccessful camouflage but am at the Very Angry Wren. I think the attempts included disruptions by Covid and then Dave’s broken leg. She got there in the end though!

A disappointed but resigned DH here because of last night’s football.

We have sunshine so seems a bit of a waste to go to work. Where’s that clone?
