I don’t think it rained today. Woohoo! Bloody windy though and quite chilly. Supposed to be colder tomorrow so I may resort to Big Coat.

Love a lavender plant. I think my younger sister has planted lots (or at least her DH has) so I may look into drying the smelly bits.

Work was workish. I embarrassingly missed a meeting (in my diary for one time, actually happened an hour earlier I had done all the prep work though, so at least I'd got it straight for other people to discuss.

I remember an AO3 fic where they had NSFW stuff in a bed of lavender. The author admitted in the notes that this would be highly impractical and uncomfortable in real life, but like the idea of the scent so had suspended all reality for that scene

Morning all. It's been rainy here again - hope it's better for everyone else. DS slouched very unenthusiastically out the door to a day of double-exams, though apparently yesterday's exams was so easy that he and several friends double-checked the paper to make sure they were doing the advanced one rather than the basic one. This didn't please him because the grade boundaries will be tighter.

DH has just announced that he's bought a gym-grade stepped from a sporty friend. Heaven knows where we're going to put it, but maybe it will keep us all fitter as we slog out way up millions of steps... [music notes] Climb every mountain.... [music notes]

The thing to bear in mind Helen re the new equipment is can you dry washing on it?

Work was crap, traffic each way was shite because another set of roadworks with temporary lights on the same stretch of road as the first set but they don’t seem to be matched up sort of thing to deal with the traffic flow. And then this evening DS2 lets me know (after me asking since last Wednesday) what he needs for his Thursday trip. Among the items are swimwear and shorts - nothing from last summer fits.

I’ll just be in the cupboard, having a cry/scream.

FFS MiniLetUs - you just went shopping - could you not have thought about clothes that you'd need then? (Though I don't think anyone needs shorts atm.)

I have been working, and cooking, and doing life admin for Dad and baking for a work cake sale thingy. Never mind laundry - I could drape myself over a stepper just now. Or even better, I could drape myself over a HBF. If I could find one of them.

Afternoon wenches from sunny Wales. Yes, really, it’s beautiful here. I’ve just had to come in off the decking for a rest.

Meanwhile DH hasn’t stopped working. So far he’s replaced the toilet seat, erected two bar stools, changed the bathroom door from opening out to opening in and he’s now fitting a bracket on the wall so the TV can be swivelled and viewed from said stools in the kitchen, with the usual running commentary. He’s driving me mad.

Anyway, hope exams and shopping and work etc. are going well.

Was calling into a Sainsburys anyway this morning on the way to work so I bought a few different pairs in different sizes as I couldn’t cope with the thought of heading out with him after dinner. Two pairs are okay and he seems okay for everything else he needs for tomorrow. His bag’s packed so that’s sorted, but more notice would help. And I’m back in the shop next week as that’s where my dentist is based so I can do the returns then. So it wasn’t a big deal in the end, just short notice means stress.

Glad that the clothes shopping went well, and that MrA is keeping himself usefully entertained. Shame about the running commentary.

Quite chilly again with the forecast of heavy rain. Apparently this time last year it was 32° in London, which to be honest is too hot but it’s such a difference.

I'm having a really inefficient freelancing day (so obviously, I'm on MN now rather than cracking on with work!) at self.

Afternoon. Well after yesterday’s lovely weather we’re back to normal today with rain all day, 40mph wind and a temperature of 14 degrees. 😡 We did some shopping this morning and now DH is back to DIY and I’m on here. Misty is asleep on the bed, as usual.

Oooft. Mediocre weather day - mostly cloudy and dull, then a thunderstorm and 1cm rain in 10-15 minutes Biblical, it was (And now there's blue sky in patches again.)

I can't be bothered to cook either, but the manshapes are going out, and I have leftovers to reheat, so I'll cope.

College did get sorted fortunately, so he's signed up for that event. Phew!
