Afternoon. Beautiful day, summer’s here! Don’t suppose it will last though.
We had a family BBQ earlier as DS had his DC today, which was nice.

We have a funeral tomorrow, DH’s golfing friend. He was the author whose book I proofread a few years ago. Lovely man, he had quite a life; he was a stunt man and bit-part actor in his younger years.

Hope the back is holding up Helen.

Evening all. Gardening was done and it was very hot, and I did lots, but it feels like I didn't do much as well, iyswim. Basically, whatever I did barely made a dent in what needs doing DH muttered about a BBQ as well Apricot, but not until the evening when it was cooling right down.

Oh well. Hope everyone's had a good weekend. I shall have an early night tonight because I'm tired.

Have pootled around the garden - a bit like helen I felt like I barely made a dent in what needs doing, but it was pleasant out there as long as I was in the shade - especially as Chonk and Floof pootled around the garden as well. Parental issues are continuing - getting quite concerned for FancyDad - so there has been a lot of messaging & calls over the weekend. How the fuck did we manage without mobile phones in the past?!

Morning. It's mostly grey out there with the sun trying to break though. DS is out the door for exams again, having done minimal revision over half term. DH also had the week off and will be overjoyed to be back to work. Not. I have a new project to look at as well as the existing ones to deal with. I may spend the morning investigating spa days.

Hurrah for Chock and Floof doing garden pootling. Less hurrah about FancyDad - horrible to be in that position. Lots of <cwtches>

Afternoon. Well, summer didn't last long, it's been cloudy and cool all day. The funeral went well; his widow did a lovely eulogy, which was very brave of her. Nice to meet up with golfers and wives from the old club.

Spent the day with FancyMan, only spent quite a bit of the morning on a call about parents & lots of messages all day with nice BIL & parents' helpers <sighs> And back to work tomorrow <grumps>

Chonk had another run in with the same cat who was trying to come in through the patio doors. He's a big bugger & Chonk looked a bit out-chonked, so I chased the other one off. MangyFox made an afternoon appearance, still looking mangy, not sure if she returns at night for her sandwiches, I hope so, as I can't feed her in the afternoons.

Morning, window cleaners started early today - so Billy Big Bollocks (Chonk) hid under my bed. Floof watched from a safe distance.

Was going to say I was hoping for some sunshine today, but that's a bit ambitious, so I'll settle for no rain so the roses don't get a battering.

<snoooooooooooooooooort> ay Chonk hiding from the window cleaners. I can't imagine what IdiotKitty would do - he runs away from everything that's outside his perceived comfort zone, including the noise of a car driving up the road, or next door walking on their gravel drive.

Afternoon. Rain most of the day. Good for the bedding plants though and we don't have to water them.

Awwww at MangyFox having sandwiches and Chonk hiding. We don't have the window cleaners in very often, but when we do I close the curtains of the room she's in as she hates the water spraying over them.

This evening DS and I have been watching Doctor Who - the new series is growing on me, after a dodgy start. Also sudoku. I was going to make biscuits It may be a bit late for that.

Was supposed to get an early start as I want to do some shopping before work. This has not happened. Short day though so there’s that.

Morning all. We have sun!!! Not sure how long it will last, but it's actual proper sun and blue sky. (So I have to go off to BoringOfficeJob and sit in an building whose windows won't open because the air con can't cope.)

My neck hurt when I woke up - maybe I could lie phone in and say I'm not safe to drive. Urgh. Once more unto the breach, etc..

Afternoon. Sun and cloud. I tried sitting outside and it was lovely when the sun was out but the wind was freezing when it went in so I gave up.

Well, for our collective sanity DS has decided to take a rental property. It’s all very amicable but he’s been here for 14 months and he needs to have his own space. Strangely on the day he was accepted he received an offer on his house which he accepted and amazingly his ex-GF did too. However so much can go wrong so he’s still going to move out.

He’s brought loads of boxes for his mountain of stuff and he’s put them all in the dining room where Misty is in box heaven. He doesn’t get the keys for a fortnight but we’re all quite excited.

Hope Helen’s neck sorted itself out.

Finished knitting a baby cardigan but the edges are curling so I’ve crocheted a border on to it which has sort of sorted it but not really.

Neck is better. It got better v. quickly. I was just looking for excuses not to go to work

Can you make a feature of the curly edges on the cardigan?

DS is having x-box issues. The visuals freeze on the loading page, but the game still loads, he just has nothing but audio and a frozen loading page. Woe..... I'm going to ask Mr Google about it and hope we can avoid a factory re-set.
