Afternoon. Rain, rain and more rain.

DD has put her back out, and in getting a hot water bottle to put on it has spilled boiling water over her hand, so now two members of the family have burned fingers. DH’s are much improved but not enough to swing a golf club. Sad

Hope the festival went well Helen in spite of the weather. You need a rest.

<side-eyes all the vampires around here>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/05/2024 18:01

I do need a rest, I do. Though at least I'm tired rather than injured <side eyes at FamilleApricot)

Been out all afternoon playing taxi for DS (with DH, so we actually spent some time together Shock ) It has rained on an off most of today too, though at least not too much while we were mooching around Local City waiting for DS. It's just started hammering down again. SIL is at a big stadium concert at Local City. Oh dear..... I'm quite relieved I don't have tickets.

LetUsPrey · 28/05/2024 20:57

Evening wenches.

Raaaaiiiiinnnnnnnnnnn. Your poor SIL Helen. You think don’t you hmm outdoor gig end of May - that’ll be fine. But nope.

Oh Apricot, poor DD. I think we’re beyond the realms of bubble wrap and cotton wool now. Hope she’s feeling better soon, and that MrApricot can get back to his golf purely for his own benefit and enjoyment obviously.

FancyFancy · 28/05/2024 23:33

Ouch, poor DD apricot, I hope she'll be on the mend soon. Am properly snorting over the mysterious neighbours though. I'm imagining a feline version of the Disney version of Oliver, mostly because my sister's cat steals from neighbours' houses. Nothing useful - mostly toothbrushes Grin

Am wondering whether some sort of James Bond-ish amphibious vehicle might be needed for tomorrow's commute......

Morning wenches.

Grin at cat stealing toothbrushes.

We all seem to be “enjoying” the delightful almost June weather, except hopefully Wicked is having something more pleasant. Any warmth or sunshine where you are Wicked?

Dull and dreary again. Short day so I’m hoping to catch up on some Doctor Who with DS2.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/05/2024 07:54

Morning all. I'm tired, it rained overnight, IdiotKitty is bored (to the extent of finding some tissue paper and shredding it for fun). I need to get dressed and go to BoringOfficeJob. I was going to leave early because I'd save time what with not needing to shove DS out the door. But no. I faffed and staked some plants in the garden, and faffed some more.
<falls asleep on sofa, again.>

ApricotCrush · 29/05/2024 16:42

Afternoon. Much the same weather. I went to the dentist this morning and he did that thing where they poke needles into your gums and spout some gobbledegook to the nurse. It really is very painful and serves no useful purpose that I can see. My gums are wrecked anyway and won’t get any better. Hmm

DD has dragged herself into work and we have DGS who has been playing on DS’s PlayStation.

Grin at the toothbrush thief.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/05/2024 18:51

We had a bit of rain today thankfully, otherwise it's just sun, sun, sun Grin

You're surrounded by vampires Apes what other explanation could there be? Are there any hot ones?

Grin at Chonk's weird lip-licking.

Does your nice BIL have any recommendations Fancy? Not sure what kind I'm getting, I think they only have one model that they dole out, if you wan't something more luxurious you have to go to a private clinic or something.

LetUsPrey · 29/05/2024 19:42

Evening wenches.

Got out of the car at the car park this morning, started raining. Stopped just as I got to the office. Didn’t rain all day that I was there. Left at usual time, sky was getting a bit darker. I was a couple of minutes up the road and it started raining, stopped before I got to the car. Getting a bit paranoid Grin

Ah yes Apricot, the gum prodding with the secret code. I was told my gums were getting better last time by the hygienist and this was down to my regular flossing. I nodded. (Note - I do not floss regularly).

Lots of sun Wicked Envy. Hope you’re enjoying it because at least someone should be.

Similar here Helen with the oh I could leave a bit earlier that then doesn’t seem to happen.

Determined to have an early night as last night’s sleep was awful.

LetUsPrey · 30/05/2024 07:23

Morning wenches.

Early night - no. Better night’s sleep - also no. And one of the times I woke I was trying to figure out what day it was and thought it was Friday. Took about a minute to realise it’s not.

We have rain which even though it’s June on Saturday, does not surprise me.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/05/2024 13:24

Afternoon. <cwtch> for rubbish sleep LetUs. I managed to have a lie-in today which was much needed, but now I'm behind with work again <le sigh> It's Friday tomorrow though, so the weekend is soon.

We have had wind and clouds and sunshine so far. And, judging by the clouds coming in, we will shortly have The End Of Days.

I must work, and not get distracted by the internet. Hmm

ApricotCrush · 30/05/2024 16:12

Afternoon. Same weather. Very envious of your sun WW.

I’ve sorted the problem with the knitting and so can crack on with it now.

Poor sleep is awful LetUs, hope you do better tonight. <cwtch>

No hot vampires sadly.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/05/2024 21:40

Hurrah for solving the knitting problem Apricot

I did eventually manage to bit productive at work and not get sucked into internet wormholes. This evening I have been going through DS' revised timetable to work out when he can go in/leave early due to finishing various subjects. My head hurts a bit.

LetUsPrey · 30/05/2024 21:45

Evening wenches.

Cold and rain on and off. Urgh.

Knew you’d sort the knitting Apricot.

Have had a quick trip to IKEA this evening. Was saved the temptation of an ice cream as there isn’t a seating area in that food bit any more.

Going to bed soon.

LetUsPrey · 31/05/2024 07:24

Morning wenches.

We have sunshine! Oooooo.

I remember the revised timetable for mid-exam time Helen. There was a lot of highlighter action to help figure it all out.

Today will be work and then the usual evening stuff with additional tidying as parents and siblings coming round tomorrow for dinner. This tidying will involve hiding a lot of stuff in DS1’s old room.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/05/2024 13:06

Urgh. Miserable weather. It's very uncivilised, being expected to work when it's like this and all I want to do is build a pillow fort/hide under the duvet.

I'd tidy like that too LetUs, except I'm running out of spare room space as well. MUST have a proper de-clutter. But first, lunch. Then more work. Urgh.

ApricotCrush · 31/05/2024 16:23

Afternoon. Bit of sun this morning but cloudy since. Quite warm.

DS put all his pots of tomato/sweetcorn/beans/etc. plants on the terrace to catch the sun, right under the washing line where I needed to peg the bedclothes he has brought back from the caravan, and then went out, so I had to work around them. <sigh>

DD and I keep saying we’ll have a trip to IKEA.

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 31/05/2024 22:05

Evening wenches.

No rain today! Crikey.

Thankfully this year DH hasn’t done his plants from seed so there haven’t been any all over windowsills and doorways etc, but I feel your pain Apricot.

I keep looking at all the stuff I need to declutter Helen. Unfortunately it’s all still there despite me looking at it and hasn’t miraculously decluttered itself.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/05/2024 23:00

We have pots of seedlings all over the place being thoroughly neglected and sporadically rescued from being drowned by rain. Hmm They're on my list of things to deal with this weekend.

It's that time of year now where, if the hare's didn't bound away when they saw me, I'd never notice them in the fields - though I might still spot their ears popping up like aerials Grin. There were three other them belting about in the field on my way home this evening.

DH is trying to sort out accommodation for a gig that he and DS are going to. I'm getting a running commentary about different rooms and prices.

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2024 08:28

Morning wenches.

I can relate re the running commentary Helen and feel your pain. All about charging the car here. How fascinating.

Haircut today and then lots of tidying/hiding stuff as parents and other family coming round for tea.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/06/2024 10:53

Morning, it's cloudy and windy, but not actually raining. I should go do garden things. I should probably get dressed first though.

ApricotCrush · 01/06/2024 16:58

Afternoon. Nice day, no rain but no sun either. DH is putting bedding plants in the front garden and I feel I ought to be helping but I go horribly giddy when I bend down just lately and he knows this, but I feel guilty. Hmm

Lovely seeing the hares Helen.

Have a lovely family time LetUs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/06/2024 17:52

Well, I planted some of the flower seedlings out. Put wire around them to protect them from the chickens, and went out. Then I came back and found that the determined feathery sods had squirmed their way in. So I re-planted all the plants again, and re-chicken-proofed them. Also went to see local sporting event which turned into a wider family get-together, which was nice (and didn't require any tidying!)

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2024 22:05

Evening wenches.

Had a super afternoon/evening. Trying to get some quiet time before bed. Not quite going to plan.

Just be on hand to provide cups of tea/coffee Apricot. Don’t want MrA accidentally sticking a trowel in your arm as you lay sprawled in the bedding plants.

Did the re-chicken-proofing work Helen? Sounds a lovely way to spend your afternoon seeing sporting stuff and family.

LetUsPrey · 02/06/2024 08:01

Morning wenches.

We have sunshine again which will hopefully stick around for the rest of the day.

I also have quiet as no on else is awake.

Usual Sunday ahead.

Have peaceful days wenches.
