Morning
Local FB group already has a video from one of the election candidates. Don't know why I am surprised - his campaign started when his party lost the by-election 3 years ago.

Not all the rain letus <surveys puddles>

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 23/05/2024 16:32

Afternoon. Cloudy and dull here, but no rain. I seem to have done nothing of any use at all today. Hmm

Hope the rain kept off for you Helen and your festival prep went well, with or without HBFs, probably without.

Oh God, I can't stand 6 weeks of it, I think I'll go abroad to escape.

(Edited because I can't see when we've started a new page and didn't see Fancy Confused)

LetUsPrey · 23/05/2024 21:11

Evening wenches.

Going to hazard a guess Helen and say they didn’t turn up. Rude. Hope prep went well.

Rainy McRainRain all day again. I was wishing I’d put my Big Coat on today as it was a bit windy too and really quite cold. It’s almost June for goodness sake.

No one was more surprised apparently in our area at the last election than the candidate who won. Might try and tune some of it out for a few weeks.

Do you feel rested and relaxed Apricot? Did you do anything - even if it felt like nothing - for yourself? Then it wasn’t wasted.

Work wasn’t too busy for a change until about 4 then it went bonkers with work coming from many people who all want to take priority. That would be tough.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/05/2024 21:20

Evening. Yep - no-one will be surprised that the HBF count was zero. But it didn't rain either which is handy. So I did prep and then I did work to try and get on top of things before spending all day tomorrow doing prep. Then three days of festival wrangling. Then I will need to lie in a dark quiet corner.

Agreed re. 6 weeks of tediousness Apricot. I'm not convinced that my vote will make any difference here, but I'll live in hope. No blatant campaigning on FB here yet.

FFS LetUs - what is it that makes people so rubbish that they have to wait until the end of the day for terribly important urgent things?

LetUsPrey · 24/05/2024 07:21

Morning wenches.

I suppose I should be grateful it was yesterday Helen, and not last thing Friday before the bank holiday. Yep, so grateful.

Hope the event is a roaring success and the weather stays fine for you. We have yet more rain.

Friday though so hurrah! Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/05/2024 07:51

Morning all.

Lovely and sunny here, and forecast to stay that way until tomorrow, or course. Hmm It's a bank holiday - we shouldn't be surprised by forecasts of rain and thunder. I was astounded that May Day weekend was so nice - there's no way that the Whistun weekend would be similar. Sod's law and all that.

Had a very weird dream which I won't bore you with - other than the one where Elk and I were chilling on a sofa in a shopping centre and got 'checked out' by Jude Law as he walked past with Brad Pitt heading for the lifts, then Ian McShane walked past and I realised there was a Comic Con on - hence the random celebs. Then I realised that there was a factory outlet Waterstones in the shopping centre too, which excited me far more than any celebs. Grin That dream made me Grin.

Anyway - Friday - have a lovely day all. I hope the rain stops for you at some point LetUs (and anyone else getting drenched).

ApricotCrush · 24/05/2024 17:28

Afternoon. No rain, but miserable and cold. Much the same plus rain forecast for the weekend. Sad

I've done a bit more today, coloured my hair, done a Lidl shop and written a mini-manual for the caravan for DS as he's going tomorrow and hasn't seen it so hasn't a clue how anything works. Hmm

Bonkers dream Helen.

Have a lovely evening all. Wine

.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/05/2024 22:12

Evening. Am tiiiiiiired.
It's been nice weather today - sunny and warm. Weather forecast for the weekend is dire though - dooooom Sad

LetUsPrey · 24/05/2024 22:17

Evening wenches.

<faceplants on bar> work was very full on and I’m knackered.

More rain which did actually stop at one point but don’t worry it started again. The forecast is much of the same for the next week or so.

Madness on the dream Helen, although oooo at bookshop outlet! Part of my dream involved eating peas/petit pois out of a purpose made gap in the centre of some handlebars, and then taking part in a sort of park run thing (as if) where DH had made me a cup of tea but it was in a proper tea cup rather than a mug so it kept slopping over the sides.

<admires Apricot’s hair>

Going to finish my drink and then bed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/05/2024 06:41

Morning all.

Well.... It's not windy, or actively cold. Or lashing down either. Just persistent, steady rain. Ho hum. I shall be getting wet.

I have made porridge to set myself up for the day, but it's not the sort of breakfast that you can mindlessly chug down, so that was a bit of a mistake, but never mind.

Last night's stressy dream was about missing a flight (or two possibly) and being left having to cart a double-bass about (or it might have been a Cello - it wasn't mine anyway) while the rest of the group I was with breezed away without waiting. Hmm Can I go back to random celebs and exciting bookshops?

Have a good day all.

LetUsPrey · 25/05/2024 07:28

Morning wenches.

Wenches would have helped with the double bass/cello Helen. Hope the weather clears up for you.

Meeting BestFriend this morning as there’s a sale on at craft place and it would be rude not to go. Other than that, washing which I should hopefully be able to get outside as - shock - we have sunshine!

ApricotCrush · 25/05/2024 16:43

Afternoon. Nice day, much washing done but too cold to sit outside when the sun goes in.

DS is at the caravan, but there's no peace. Hmm He couldn't get the boiler to start up so had a half hour conversation with DH who has only done it once himself. It worked in the end. Now he has discovered that he has a puncture and can't get the locking nut or whatever it is off the wheel. <sigh> Everything happens to him.

Hope Helen hasn't got too wet and LetUs enjoyed the craft sale.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/05/2024 21:10

Evening. Much raining done here (15mm). Everything feels slightly damp <niagw>. According to the weather forecast, we can do it all again tomorrow, with added lightning. Confused I shall be safe in a faraday cage tent. Grin

Glad to hear that everyone else has had sunshine though, and craft sale was good. Also hope that Mini-Apricot found his locking wheel nut thingy and his caravan visit goes more smoothly now!

We're watching a Taskmaster and then I'm heading for a soak in a bath.

LetUsPrey · 25/05/2024 21:27

Evening wenches.

Oh crikey ApricotDS. Thank goodness for MrApricot re the boiler. Hope the flat got sorted.

It’s not really fair that you’ve an outdoor event at the end of May Helen and it’s crappy weather. Hope you get a sudden improvement.

It’s been okay here today but we have heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow.

Lovely time this morning with BestFriend. Stocked up for future projects.

LetUsPrey · 26/05/2024 08:15

Morning wenches.

Well it’s definitely rained overnight. Let’s see if the thunder (weather not local amazing netball team) arrives.

Usual Sunday with additional visit from DS1 and his girlfriend this afternoon.

Have lovely, hopefully dry, days wenches.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/05/2024 11:49

We have had warm sunny weather here for at least a weak and a half, wich usually means it will rain for the rest of the summer.

Otherwise it's just work, work and more work.

I did a hearing test again, I feel like the audiologist was better this time, and I'm going to try a hearing aid and see if it can improve my hearing in bigger groups, at the restaurant etc. It's starting to be a big problem for me.

Sale at a craft store Letus? Yes, it would be very rude not to go Grin

Hope all wenches have a lovely day Smile

ApricotCrush · 26/05/2024 16:54

Afternoon. Plenty of rain here with a bit of sun in between.

DS managed to sort his wheel so was able to go and get food and beer which I suspect he was more worried about. Hmm

My knitting has hit a problem which means I haven’t done any for a while. I must sort it as I’m in danger of starting something else which I don’t want to do. Exciting to be stocked up with craft stuff LetUs.

Ooo, that’s interesting about the hearing aid WW. I’m in the same position and really should get something done about it. It’s not that I don’t hear conversations, but everything is muffled.

Hope Helen’s managed to keep dry.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/05/2024 20:41

Evening all. Could have sworn I posted this morning. I haven't checked the rain gauge, but we had torrential downpours late afternoon, with thunder and lightning (sorry Fancy) but our faraday cage tent worked and we didn't get zapped. We also had normal rain in the morning, and then a bit of sun Shock after lunch. One more day to go...

Hope you can get the knitting problem sorted Apricot

I struggle with background noise too Wicked - hope you get somewhere with a solution.

LetUsPrey · 26/05/2024 22:18

Evening wenches.

Warm dry weather sounds so lovely Wicked. Hope you get a solution to your hearing issues. Same goes for other wenches.

Oh no at knitting problem Apricot. You’re more determined than me as I’d just ignore it and start something else.

We were forecast rain and thunderstorms. We got the rain. Normal Sunday except I’ve postponed the ironing to tomorrow. Spread the excitement over a few days.

FancyFancy · 26/05/2024 23:18

Evening
Downpours but no thunder here <harrumphs> did manage some pottering in the garden yesterday which was very relaxing, but today have mostly done some chores & visited an ex-neighbour in her new house. The most exciting thing to happen all weekend was when a local cat tried to come in through the patio doors. Chonk was outraged - cue much yowling and downright weird lip-licking. Floof attempted to blend in with the sofa. Honestly, FancyCat would have been appalled at the lack of naked territorial aggression Grin

Glad you managed to stay dry helen & I hope people weren't put off coming by the weather.

Interested to hear how you get on with the hearing aid ww - nice BIL is a bit of an expert on them, always trialling new tech.

<snort> @ ironing excitement letus, unless you save up some faf-watching as a distraction? In which case there is excitement Grin

Glad the beer shortage tyre was sorted apricot & I think you may have the right idea re the election. I may pile up all the leaflets by my front door where canvassers can see them when they come calling and then ask them what their environmental policies are Hmm

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 27/05/2024 08:39

Morning wenches.

Generallt watch history stuff whilst ironing. So Lucy Worsley is very clever and wears very nice clothes and has nice hair and is pretty, but not FAF no Grin

Chonk getting there with the defensive attitude but Grin at Floof being all chameleon like.

So today is ironing, make flapjacks, then LovelyMIL is coming as well as DS1 and his girlfriend.

ApricotCrush · 27/05/2024 17:20

Afternoon. Sunshine and showers again. I did a Sainsbury’s shop and got some litter for Misty from the local pet shop. It’s strange, our next door neighbours have lived there for 6 years and I’ve never seen any food going in, either from their boot or from a delivery van. I’m carting it in all the time. Come to think of it, the same goes for everyone else around here. What are they living on? Confused

Grin at Chonk and Floof’s different ways of dealing with an invader.

I like Lucy Worsley’s programmes too LetUs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/05/2024 23:12

Evening all. Am v. tired, but entertaining myself with the thought that Apricot has got vampires for neighbours, in a 'What We Do in the Shadows' sort of way.

LOL at the difference in attitude between Chonk, Floof, and FancyCat Grin

LetUsPrey · 28/05/2024 07:50

Morning wenches.

Could have sworn I posted last night. Obviously not. Wasn’t anything exciting. Day went as planned and it was lovely to see DS1 and his girlfriend.

That’s a bit odd Apricot. Perhaps they are vampires like Helen suggests Grin

Back to work which does not give me a feeling of joy and happiness.

Hope wenches have happy days.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/05/2024 11:14

Morning all.

I fell asleep in front of the TV last night - woke up at some point into The Godfather 2. I'd been baffled enough by the start, never mind the random piece I woke up to, so I went to bed.

DS has yet to surface, lucky DS. I have done the final clear up from the local festival and am pooped still. DH has taken the week off - sensible DH.

<waves vaguely at all wenches>
