Morning wenches.

Sunny again, although I think this is our last day for this week.

They were talking about strawberries on Beechgrove Garden yesterday. She was putting them under about 15 protective layers. Bet the birds and squirrels could still get through.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/05/2024 07:39

Morning. Sunny here too, though I have no idea of the forecast. Tiiiiiiiiiiiied because I stayed up late to finish a sudoku. #IdiotMe
IdiotKitty is asleep in a sunbeam (SensibleKitty)

LetUsPrey · 13/05/2024 21:33

Evening wenches.

It may have started out sunny this morning but the day didn’t finish like that. Quite pleased I took a coat to work.

That’s a good reason to stay up and be tired Helen.

Could do with an early night as I’m out tomorrow night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/05/2024 21:38

Evening. Tiiiired, feels like a long and stressful day of daft client doing daft things and annoying client being annoying.

Weather has been good though. Would it be bad of me to whisper that a little overnight rain would be handy for the veg patch? Just a little localised shower?

I think you'd need some sort of air-tight self contained ecosystem to keep strawberries safe from garden critters. I don't know how PYOs manage it, unless we just don't realise the appallingly huge losses they have to the little sods. If only we could train the squirrels to pick and not eat them...

LetUsPrey · 14/05/2024 07:21

Morning wenches.

We have rain Helen. Lots and lots of it if you’d like to have some. Am out tonight in NearbyBigCity at the Will It Be Open Or Won’t It Be Open venue. But it looks like rain will have stopped by then. It’s indoors but I’d rather not get soaked getting there.

Am imagining helper squirrels like at Willy Wonka’s factory.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/05/2024 07:35

Morning all. Was sunny when I got up, but clouding over now. Must run...

Have a good time tonight LetUs - fingers crossed you don't get wet on your way there!

ApricotCrush · 14/05/2024 16:24

Afternoon. The lovely weather broke yesterday so we decided to come home. We've got the caravan pretty much as we want it. DH had to get the vertical blinds in the lounge down as 'they weren't straight' and he's changed the door on the little bedroom from opening outwards to opening inwards. There were some spare curtains under the bed which should have been in the lounge instead of the blinds, so I'll make some cushion covers out of them for when we go next time as the cushions from the old caravan don't go.

I've spent today putting stuff away and sorting washing.

Have a lovely time tonight LetUs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/05/2024 22:06

Evening. We had a tiny bit of rain, but only enough to make things damp - plants still needed watering, etc.

Today has been more mad work and last minute shenanigans.

I've just been trying to unwind by doing a sudoku. Except I've moved up a level in my book and they're haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard. <whinge> Also, I need to type up some meeting notes while I remember. Excellent. (not)

It sounds like you're making the caravan like a home anyway Apricot - MrA has broken and fixed things, you're making cushions... Grin
Hope that LetUs's venue was at the 'open' stage.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/05/2024 07:37

Morning. We have rain. Idiot kitty has forgiven me for de-fleaing him and is snuggled up on me being purry and cute. BoringOfficeJob awaits, I was planning on wearing sandals. Hmm
Hope everyone has a good day and LetUs had a fun night out.

LetUsPrey · 15/05/2024 07:43

Morning wenches.

Super night yesterday. Venue did open (after three previous attempts) and Elbow did not disappoint as per. Bit tired now. Day off today as DS2 has a hospital appointment.

Looks dull and potentially damp today.

You’re sounding very organised Apricot and sounds like you’re making the new caravan very cosy.

Not done a sudoku for a little while. Might do one today.

ApricotCrush · 15/05/2024 16:18

Afternoon. Lovely day, I had a couple of hours outside watching the washing dry.

Yes, the caravan is a home from home. I doubt if we’ll go abroad again. DH would but I hate the whole travelling, airport, flying then more travelling and the same again coming back. We can get to the van in just over two hours whenever we want, we have a lovely beach and most importantly Misty is happy there. Grin The DC get a free holiday when they want too.

Glad you enjoyed the gig LetUs and hope the hospital appointment went well.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/05/2024 21:35

Evening. There are photos out of the 'Furiosa' cast at Cannes. TB is next to Chris Hemsworth. Hemsworth looks hot.

Work was workish. I had my annual appraisal which is the most pointless waste of time ever. (I have a v. good line manager and have regular meetings, and fortunately she is very understanding of my loathing of appraisals.)

Freelance deadline looms like a large looming thing... then I just have to do all the mopping up and paperwork post-deadline.

Glad you had a good time LetUs, and hope DS2's appointment went well.

LetUsPrey · 15/05/2024 22:45

Evening wenches.

I’m with you on the travelling thing Apricot.

That’s a very good photo Helen. That’s good that you have a good line manager. Our appraisals are also pointless but I would imagine from a very different point of view.

Hospital was fine. Consultant was super lovely with DS2. I’ve spent a lot of the evening knitting and there’s a large me shaped dent in the sofa cushion.

LetUsPrey · 16/05/2024 07:21

Morning wenches.

We have sunshine! I think there’s rain and thunderstorms forecast but I shall enjoy the morning sunshine whilst it’s here.

Another appointment re DS2 today although this is by phone with me because apparently seeing and speaking to him more than once through a 3.5 year period just isn’t necessary.

Hope it stays dry for wenches except where needed in any gardens.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/05/2024 08:41

Morning all. Raining here, and IdiotKitty wants cuddles. So far this month I have forgotten to post 3 birthday cards Hmm
FFS at phone appointments.

ApricotCrush · 16/05/2024 17:10

Afternoon. Cold and tipping it down all day. I hope that lovely weather wasn’t our summer. Hmm

We went to Dunelm earlier to get a new toilet seat 🙄and some other bits and pieces and DH said he needed to go to Wickes. Oh God when he goes in there I can’t get him out.

I’ve seen some of the pics from Cannes, not terribly keen on the full beard. I’m not sure whether it’s my type of film but TB does look dirty good in it, even with all the weird make-up.

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/05/2024 21:15

Evening all. It rained for quite a lot of today, and I was out in some of it. <wrings self out> I do like a good mooch in Dunelm - it's a bit like a budget Lakeland in terms of trying to sell you things you didn't know you needed Grin Hadn't thought of looking there for toilet seats.

Otherwise, same old... Freelance deadline caused problems up to the last minute but it's out of my hands now.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 16/05/2024 22:20

Evening wenches.

Appointment happened (eventually). She was very lovely and I felt like she was listening but I’m still a bit well what now and it’s such a slog to get anywhere.

Work was so busy that by about 3pm NiceColleague and I were sitting there, staring at our screens, having hit the Wall very very hard.

Perhaps it’s as well I don’t have a Dunelm close by, ie town I live in, because I’d probably spend too much time in there.

Have knitted and failed again at an early night.

FancyFancy · 17/05/2024 00:21

Evening
Had a day out of the office at an industry expo thingy - the usual sort of thing where firms show off their products which will solve all your problems Hmm Got home earlier than usual though which was good, so managed to do the grocery shopping today rather than tomorrow. In the excitement of seeing a friend at the shop who I'd not seen for a while I forgot to buy two essentials - milk for me and jam for the foxes. Last week I had a fox in my garden a couple of times, looks like a nursing mother with a very mangy tail. The wildlife rescues won't do much unless she gets worse and until any cubs are older, so recommended some homeopathic remedy that I have to put out every night disguised in a jam sandwich. The remedy that is, not me.

Tonight one of Chonk or Floof brought in their first mouse - dead fortunately. Well not for the mouse Sad Floof was playing with it but Chonk was nearby too, so who knows.

LetUsPrey · 17/05/2024 07:24

Morning wenches.

I now have an image of you Fancy, dressed as a jam sandwich, loitering at the bottom of your garden Grin. Good that Chonk and Floof continue to develop but poor mousey.

Quite dull this morning but it’s Friday so who cares.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/05/2024 07:47

OMG Fancy - A HBF expo?! Admittedly, they wouldn't solve all our problems, but they'd definitely help. Grin Also, <arf> at disguising yourself as a Jam Sandwich Grin This is the sort of post I need on a Friday morning!

It's also dull here and misty. DS has gone off for his first double-header exam day. I might crawl back into bed for a bit, and roll out just in time for WFH.

ApricotCrush · 17/05/2024 16:38

Afternoon. Nice day. I did a Sainsbury shop this morning and then walked round the road as we’ve missed a couple of nights.

Grin at Fancy as a jam sandwich. Hope the fox is alright.

Also hope the exams went well.

LetUsPrey · 17/05/2024 21:40

Evening wenches.

Work aaarrrggghhhhhh.

Oooo Sainsburys - that reminds me. Their own brand mayo is absolutely delicious.

Hope MiniHelen did well today. I’m sure he did.

I’m drinking Pimms and watching Doctor Who.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/05/2024 21:56

Evening. How did it get to be nearly 10pm Shock Weather turned out lovely in the end, once the mist burnt off.

Exams seem to have gone fine, so that's the first full week done.

I'm having tea, accompanied by IntelligentCat, who has moved from on, to beside me.

LetUsPrey · 18/05/2024 07:55

Morning wenches.

This is good news re MiniHelen.

Sun’s out so the wash is on the line and another one on the go, with more queued up. I swear that basket was almost empty a couple of days ago and everyone’s very good about putting their stuff straight in.

Meeting BestFriend this morning.
