Yay! Gli Aram hanno vinto!!!! I must admit I was a tad surprised, especially after that inedito they had to sing, although it did sound better the second time around.

I voted for them twice this evening, though I'm not sure I did it right as not au fait with this televoto system tramite cellulare.

Cod, your DH can't be a spy, I am Milan's resident spy doncha know and I would know of visiting colleagues, I'm sure.

Rosa · 28/05/2008 08:19

Oh I hope you slept last night with all the excitement !! ( touch of scarcasm there !!!!)I watched 20 mins of a program on frane and went to bed one wonders why ???
Well its still warm today humid again shall we risk Gardaland or not tom ?? Hey ho . Franca whats it liek where you are as we tend to get things 24 hrs after you ? Dd decided she wanted a pee at 6am and refused to go back to sleep today oh the joys of toilet training .
If you are a spy do you have a flasher mac ???

Rosa · 28/05/2008 08:20

Oh sputnik wanted to ask is there a IKEA near Rome?
Or Gio but guiess you are still in the UK ?

Brangelina · 28/05/2008 08:38

Lol, yes, I just about managed to simmer down enough to drop off. You have no idea of the tension, we were so worried that Emanuele would win. I need to get a life, don't I?

According to my trusty Ikea catalogue in front of me right now, there are 2 branches nr Rome, one in Anagnina and one in Porta di Roma. There are also 2 branches nr Milan, one in Brescia and one in Padova. End of Ikea service announcement. I really am in the wrong job, aren't I?

And no, I don't have a flasher mac, but I do have a flash Mac. Does that count, do you think?

Brangelina · 28/05/2008 08:39

Oh, and it's nice here today, kind of covered sunny IYSWIM. Muggy too, so probably storms tomorrow after all.

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/05/2008 08:47

true british weather here. not complaining much as I need a sunny day on the 7th so wishing that it will rain it all out before then.

everything's fine in the pippi's household except for endless trips to ikea and weekends spent putting up wardrobes and the rest. poor dh has got a list which will take him to 2009.

dd1 and dd2 both angels. dd2 has started sleeping through from 10am till 6am without feeding (sorry for the smug emoticon ).

tonight is my first night out on my own since she was born ... YUPPIE!!!!!

hope he's a spy too.

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/05/2008 08:51

has anyone ever made cupcakes? is it easy and quick? shall i attempt to do that for my bthday or leave it to the professionals and order them from waitrose or smthng?

Brangelina · 28/05/2008 08:54

Pippi, I am impressed taht you're managing to get so much done with a toddler and a tiny baby. I hardly even managed to wash, and that was only with a baby.

Mine slept through too, but to compensate I had to get up in the night to express to keep my milk up, so didn't get to enjoy it as much as I should have.

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/05/2008 08:54

when is SATC out in italy? wouldn't it be disappointing to watch it dubbed I wonder or are you used to it?

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/05/2008 08:59

I don't know bran it seems a lot easier with two than it was with one tbh. cannot quite work out why that is but it is. I am not stressed at all and seem to be able to have the same life as before. I find it really really hard with dd1, even though she was good. but then again at the time I wanted to go out and have MY life back, which I couldn't, this time I haven't got a life to miss.

the onkly time it all goes pear shaped is when I am on the computer and dd1 feels left out and goes to wake dd2 up ...like right now AARRGHHHH!!!

Brangelina · 28/05/2008 09:12

I think it's maybe because you know what to expect when the 2nd one comes along. I know I was completely spiazzata by the extent of enforced change in my habits when DD came along, whereas if I was to have another I'd know to make allowances.

I've not seen SATC in Italy recently, I think it might be on Sky now. The last time I watched it here was quite a few years ago. I don't think it strange to have things dubbed in Italian as most things I've never seen in English. I think it's more strange watching them in original language now. I've been watching DVDs of House in English and have had trouble following the actors, they all talk so quickly. I've had to rewind more than a few times.

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/05/2008 09:17

yes that's exactly it.

no SATC the movie is out today in the UK and it's a big thing here - there are people who've been queueing up since yest night !

Brangelina · 28/05/2008 09:20

Ah of course, I'm so behind the times.

I think it's coming out next month sometime, I saw one of the actresses being interviewed on the telly and I believe they were talking about metà giugno.

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/05/2008 09:22

got to get organised. off to brent cross to get birthday pressie for friend. madness.

Brangelina · 28/05/2008 09:23

And I've been meaning to get to the post office since yesterday....

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/05/2008 09:28

tried all week... birthday today... no escape.

Brangelina · 28/05/2008 09:30

Lol!

francagoestohollywood · 28/05/2008 10:16

no SATC the movie is out on Friday, I believe. But I don't think I could face watching it dubbed. In Milan they show movies in original language 3 times a week (every week 1 movie) so hopefully it's going to come out sooner or later.

Pippi, is dd1 still going to a childminder or are you working full time ? I tried to make fairy cakes but wasn't that satisfied. I'd order them from waitrose!

Rosa, my life is so sad, that yesterday I met with 4 other friends to watch x factor. I voted 5 times for aram quartet and tony...

I found SATC really odd when I first saw it in english!
Good to hear about the sleeping through Pippi. Mine did that for a while then started waking up again at 3 months. He's only just getting ouut of that habit and he's nearly 1, although he still sometimes wakes.

I should've kept that to myself shouldn't I?

There are indeed 2 Ikeas in Rome. 1 f them is just at the end of the Roma/Firenze autostrada.

francagoestohollywood · 28/05/2008 10:45

lol at me - italian -being used to watch satc in English and you in italian .

Yes, I'm impressed by the sleeping through without feeding. Mine slept though at around 9 months (ds probably later and he woke up early)

OP posts:
Sputnik · 28/05/2008 11:15

Yeah mine wakes super early when he does't wake at night. But sometimes does both, like last night [yawn]

Brangelina · 28/05/2008 11:17

Oh, so it's this Friday? I am behind the times. In my defence though I never really got into SATC as it's been ages since it was on mainstream TV here. Either that or it clashed with something like Beverly Hills 90210. I am a really sad case, aren't I?

Franca - if you're talking about Mexico/Arcobaleno etc. I gave up going because they hardly ever had any of the films I wanted to see, they always seemed to have a lot of tacky US comedies or obscure films that probably never got released in Italian. They also used to leave the subtitles on which I found offputting as I couldn't help reading them in Italian and thus not listen properly to the audio in English, which kind of defeated the objective really. This was a few years ago mind, so I'm sure things have improved no end, they certainly jazzed the cinema up.
