You can always email the report and pics to your gynae in Italy for his opinion as well if you trust him more. If you ask they give you a DVD.

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 13:45

storms on thurs? ffs! we have friends from the UK! I'm going to book the tour to the submarine in the museum of science then.

Brangelina, I wasn't able to figure out how to go private for a scan in Exeter... my gp would have frowned...

Yes, bugger, I'd just written about it being OK and this horrible grey cloud popped up out of nowhere. Probably because washing machine is about to finish

Brangelina · 27/05/2008 13:48

Ooh, you going to see the Toti? We saw it parked as it was being driven through. Storms? What storms? Am i going to have to move back to the UK?????

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 13:48

My friends blame me for having brought the UK weather with me...

Is it that hard to get a private scan in the UK? A friend of my sis had one but she was in Norfolk. I think you go and as at the maternity wing of the nearest hospital.

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 13:49

I might give them a ring to see the toti, if storms are forecasted, yes. The Museo della scienza e della tecnica, is very nice.

Brangelina · 27/05/2008 13:50

I used to get blamed for that.

Oddly enough my mum seems to have to carried on the tradition (the bad weather one, no the blaming).

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 13:51

It seemed very hard in Exeter. I saw a private doctor only once in 8 yrs, pre-children, I wasn't registered with a gp yet and had a pelvic infection. I panicked and rang a friend who was living in the uk, she sent me to harley street where I paid 200 pounds for a visit

Otherwise you're gong to have to do all the centri commerciali. we went on Sun afternoon because there's a free train ride DD likes and I got a headache after just 10 mins from the heating (yes, really!) and this horrible noisy band they had on the ground floor.

Rosa · 27/05/2008 13:52

Check out www.eurometeo .com normally right for me. I asked about a scan in the UK . Sis is gp and she could get me referred by a colleague of hers however I would be a temp patient so not high on list. Can't do private in my neck of the woods. I would need to bring all notes etc and it just looked too complicated as I would need seeing / checking etc etc . However have discussed with dh and if prices of flights too high as its going into school hols will go earlier and pay for scan where I had it with dd1..It would work out cheaper. It was just that my doc said he would try and do in hosp for me 4 free.
No sign of clouds here... YET ! Can't put dark washing load out it will fade !!

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 13:54

who was living in London.
actually once I registered with gp she referred us to GU clinic, they were fab.

at 200 quid!

I think if you don't know the system it's quite hard. Same here when I first arrived, I didn't even know how to register with a doctor and just went to pronto soccorso if I had a serious problem. Now I know all the ins and outs and even used to advise my Italian colleagues who ahd always gone privately because they didn't know that it could be done publicly.

Brangelina · 27/05/2008 13:56

Sounds like a good plan Rosa.

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 13:56

you might have scan in bristol at bupa?

Brangelina · 27/05/2008 13:57

Where's Cod gone? Isn't she going to tell us what her DH's here for?

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 13:58

Yes, I was scared by the system. Which turned out to be pretty "easy" to navigate. Our surgery was lovely.

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 13:59

Cod likes to be a mystery...

right I'm off to "preiscrivere" the dc to music lessons for next yr.
The definitive lists of scuola materna aren't out yet

OP posts:
Brangelina · 27/05/2008 14:02

Ooh, what lessons? I did quite like the idea of Suzuki violin but then wondered if it might be a bit too much. I'm thinking about ballet for DD next year, I must go along and ask at what age they start.

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 14:06

no, this is apparently much better than suzuki. They have a propedeutica for children 3-5, and then for children 6-8 they can coose among 4 instruments (after a few times trying all of them) plus 1 hr of chorus. I'll email you the link.

can't book the toti, it's like booking an appointment with the pope... and minimum age is 8.

OP posts:
Brangelina · 27/05/2008 14:08

Grrr, it's probably like the cenacolo, I worked opposite it for 2 years and do you think I ever once managed to go? Nope!

Yes, do send me the link, it sounds interesting. I wonder if there's one like that in Monza.

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2008 14:09

will do it, I need to rush now

OP posts:
Brangelina · 27/05/2008 14:09

OK, a dopo
