Oggi pom the wind has got up and its a bit strange but still sole.
Have heard thate there is a bout of the foot and mouth thingy in children in Vce gives blisters in the mouth not nice.
SIL did not apply for nido communale as she put her two in asilo ( suore) at 2.8 and 2.5. I liked the asilo communale to be honest in fact we might put dd there but don't know if I could cope with going agaisnt family this nido for dd is causing me enough stress... Vediamo tanto we have to decide by January here.

francagoestohollywood · 17/04/2008 22:05

we have Francas rain today !!! And dd has a lovely high temperature and we think placca un gola (sp???) we missed the paed by 5 mins so have stuffed her with paracetamol and we will wait and see. SO I have not done any cooking and I doubt I will as it is sofa and cartoons and books when the temp comes down.
Dh abandones work this morning as he hates getting wet but he has to go back out later as he needs to get benzina ( he is going to get wet again !!)

francagoestohollywood · 18/04/2008 13:00

It is still raining here and cold!! . No doubt there still colds and flu doing the rounds. oh poor mini rosa .
This weather makes me very tired, and it's been a few months now that having period knocks me down. Luckily dh has come back after 4 days abroad, today he is n charge

OP posts:
Rosa · 18/04/2008 13:17

HAve a word with your doc Franca they might be able to suggest a supplement to help you through it - It could be a something simple like Iron . Don't suffer. Temp is going down here was well not dd's she has just gone Nanna in our bed with dh - NOt something we encourage but today it is permitted I think problem will be when she is better !!

francagoestohollywood · 18/04/2008 13:20

Yes, I will have to get an appointment with gyn anyway as I need a smear test.
Oh, the pleasure to have nanna with a toddler! I remember the last few times dd had sonnellino she wanted to go with me in my bed, it was lovely (and I feel asleep as well )

I'm back! Got back at 11pm last night after an odyssey of a return journey. Bulgaria was fine, apart from getting fleeced by the taxi to and from the airport. Oh well. I must admit I was quite impressed by Sofia, the centre is full of lovely buildings and it's much less run down than I thought it would be - apart from that bit where I got left by my taxi at the wrong address for my appointment, that was a bit scary as I was surrounded by crumbling communist built housing blocks with a non functioning mobile. Luckily people were really helpful and most managed to mumble a bit of English, so between that and Russian I managed to get by. The food was quite nice, very like Greek/Turkish food with Feta cheese and lots of cucumber. I obviously didn't try the meat dishes, though...

Rosa, yes you're right, I now work for a UK company, after many years of working for Italians, and I must admit that it is a bit of a culture shock. Things are so much more employee centred in UK companies, eg. if I have a problem with doing something because of, say, no childcare, I tell them and they work around it. At my last Italian company I just got frowned at. These self appraisal things are a bit of an "americanata", though imo. So much paperwork, between those and reports, forecasts etc. I think I need a secretary.

Am v. angry with DP, I got back last night, stanca morta and all that, only to find 2 days worth of dishes piled up precariously in the sink, with the dishwasher invitingly open next to it, of the washing I'd left hanging outside he'd only taken in his stuff and left out DD's sheet and blanket so it was all wet and stinking of smog after 2 days outside, so I'm having to wash them again, DD's clothes and used knickers just chucked on the settee, obviously too heavy to carry to the laundry basket, plus a steaming pile of his dirty clothes next to the bed (laundry basket is only 2 m away). His excuse? Non hai visto quanto ho avuto da fare in questi 2gg? Inteso come I had to look after DD so didn't have time for the rest. WTF does he think I do?

Brangelina · 18/04/2008 14:09

Sorry about the self absorbed rant, just had to get it off my chest.

Franca, I also feel very tired with my period. I find that eating lots of vegetables helps, expecially leafy green ones like coste or cavolo romano. Also, lots of things like nuts or seeds and not too much bread (I always find bread bloats me terribly at around this time, pasta is OK though!) or latticini. This will automatically give you more energy as well as the necessary iron. Some people say bistecche for the iron, but the doctor I used to see advised against it as it is pesante per la digestione and menstruation often also affects the digestive system. Better a plate of lenticchie con spinaci or coste all'olio e limone. Unfortunately I don't always practice what I preach and often reach for the chocolate or biscuits, but when I do I notice the difference.

Rosa · 18/04/2008 15:41

Forecasts, budgets, I think that as you say with all the paperwork you tend to just loose the plot on what the actual job is. We actually did a time sheet and found that we were spending more than 60% on paperwork - ok so the most of it was electronic We were supposed to be out in the field and spending more time with the staff but every department wanted paperwork / feedback somebody has to say stop somewhere Auguri Cara rather you than me !
I would have flipped if that had been my DH as in gone ballistic huge time. There is no excuse at all for not putting dishes in dishwasher or dirty clothes in the basket. Next time he has a day off teach him !!! Or withdraw privilidges .....like e bay time !!!
DId you actually enjoy yourself though ???
DD temp 38.9 after 4 hrs of tacchip so have started the nuroflex. It is for sure the gola as she has an alito that can knock u for 6 also only wanting yoghurt ! Will monitor sta sera and if needed domani will go and get her throat checked luckily the lancia is due riposo so we can zip to consultorio.
Nuroflexs works she is jumping round the room being tigger !!!!

Brangelina · 18/04/2008 16:00

I did go ballistic. His comment was ma non ti rilassi mai? Yeah right. I've decided I'm never going to wash another item of his clothing plus I've changed the password on my laptop. I'll just tell him it doesn't work. It's my birthday this weekend so he has a chance to redeem himself, if he's remembered that is. It's more likely that we'll have his ds on the day, leaving puddles of wee around my toilet. The boy can't pee straight and makes my toilet smell like the men's room in a pub, however many times I clean it. Grrr, I'm still angry, I'm starting to get irrational.

Poor little Rosina, I hope it's just a cosa passaggera. If it's a sore throat can you not make her some lollies? They worked a treat when DD had hers. Am a bit of you zipping around anywhere on a lancia. At first I thought you meant the car, it took a while to click, landlubber that I am.

gio71 · 18/04/2008 16:16

your dp sounds very like mine Brange and I would have also gone ballistic! Mine still believes in washing machine fairy, dishwasher fairy blah blah. He will do things but I have to ask everytime and it gets so exhausting having to ask especially when I get the teenager expression back!!! Hope you get spoiled this weekend and happy birthday to you
Poor dd Rosa, hope it doesnt come to anything.
Off to take my infectious child to ped for check to how responding to abs etc. fun.
Are you feeling any better Franca? Am sick of changing weather as well, was lovely this morn now all cloudy and yuck

Rosa · 18/04/2008 18:20

I friend of mine put something round the loo that reacted with urine and when the men missed it turned red or blue or something .I espect it was something dodgy as she was a chemist !!They soon aimed right. My dh used to use my trips away to prove how much I did not do and I came back to a sparkling house all the ironing done ( of sorts). Then I started to go away too much but I have never come back to a huge mess I think he knows what would happen! He tried a couple of mornings when dd was crawling and gave up and agreed that its best to clean when she is asleep!
DD will be going to doc domani when doing brodo with baby pasta ( a fave )I saw nice white spots on the throat compared to the possible one we saw at lunchtime.Great idea re lollies I have some plastic stics somewhere I got in lakeland ( thinking 4 the summer) will make space in freezer- task in itself.
Gio hope your ds is ok....

hotHELL · 18/04/2008 19:35

poor you with sick kids and poor bran with pain ih the butt partner. mine is like that, i have completely given up on him doing housework, except for 2 things he needs to do every day, clear dinner table and do washing up in the evening. otherwise i spend my time telling him what to do, he doesn't do it, blah blah, fuck, fuck.
sofia sounds great, dreaming of doing a trip by myself or with a friend....would be lovely...
whenever i have my period i stock up on sweeties and bread, never manage good diet when i am on. luckily no period here for a while, really enjoying the happiness of pregnancy now...

francagoestohollywood · 18/04/2008 20:28

hh, glad you are enjoying pg now the nausea is gone .

Brange, I would have been as infuriated as you. Have to say that dh as a number of tasks of his competence which he takes pride in doing well .

I have to say that I haven't eaten many green vegetables lately, as I have mainly feasted on fennels and artichokes. mmmmm I love coste with anchovies and garlic... yummie.

Poor mini rosa! I hope it passes soon (and the nurofen is fab).
Gio how's your ds?

Still feeling crap. the maestra today asked me if I was all right ! I must look dreadful. Very pale.

Hot so glad you are enjoying being pregnant now .
Well OUr saga last night . At 8pm dd started breathing really funny sort of not regular and she went white red lips and strange. Off we went to pronto soccorso. Seen straight away and doc even though a paed was not good at visiting her she was all wound up ( had 39.4 febbre). WHen looked in ears said troppo cerume ( hummmm) scusa but I thought you were not supposed to clean the inner ear. Then when did her throat she pushed the wooden spatula in so far dd threw up and got in a mega mega state. Dh just took the sheet off the lettino and cuddled her- I was still covered in vomit.Long and short is she has a virus ( quel surprise)and breathing could have been result of high temp. Got home and she had a terrible night couldn't even take her temp we have a digital ear thing but it kept saying34 deg!!!!
Doc said no white spots in throat ( dh and I can see them plain as day so we are just keeping her dosed up with tacchip / nuroflex - She is so alive after that and if needed MOn will take her to our paed. This morning bath as she still smells it was too late last night .
SO thats my Saga...
Brang I wish you a very Happy Birthday and my your dp have bought you something wonderful for your birthday and your dd filled you with special birthday kisses.

gio71 · 19/04/2008 09:52

Oh poor you and dd Rosa, what a nightmare! How is she?
DS on mend, rash is going down although skin is very rough so think it's getting ready for the peeling stage. No temp now. Just very up and down mood wise and very very clingy. Was fine playing with dp last night, then I sneaked into the garden for my sneaky glass of wine and occasional cig while chatting to my Mum on the phone and he went beserk!!Absolutely heartbroken and took tens mins to stop shaking with sobs. Bless him. Is asleep next to me on sofa at the mo which will do him good, been a long time since he had a morning nap.
Auguri Brange! Present details please?
Pippi when are we going to get birth details??

Rosa · 19/04/2008 12:36

Invest in some pure Aloe gel Gio it works wonders for peeling skin reduces the itching when it starts to flake.Nothing better than Calamine though but you can't get it here.sounds as if yr ds is coming through it but I think that the peeling will be more irritating for him. SOunds as if he still needs his mum round lots poor chap.
DD it gets better. Put her in the bath ( very happy dd) saw spots like puntini on legs , arms, elbows but not on chest and back. Called continuita and thankfully it was our doc on turno he says watch it and if increases or febbre goes up to head in..Oh joy - she diddn't eat lunch so we will see. I had a curry and feel full I am so hoping that it doesnt go negative on me in a few hours !!!!!!

hotHELL · 20/04/2008 16:53

What are these puntini then rosa? still part of the virus?
Spring seems to be coming to london, sigh...

Rosa · 20/04/2008 16:56

They got worse...Doc thinks it could be part of virus but he is worried about her throat very red and sore. Taking her for tampone in gola - purely to eliminate any nasties . He said normally they would wait a few days but seeing as am pg then if it is a nasty bacteria then best found out sooner. Her puntini are on the increase on body but decreasing on her bum !!!
Spring here today as well.

gio71 · 20/04/2008 18:33

couldnt be scarlet fever as well could it Rosa? Sounds similar to what ds has had.
Lovely day here today as well, had lovely meal by sea and ds ran around on beach, didnt seem much wrong with him now!

hotHELL · 20/04/2008 21:10

it would be weird if it was scarlet fever, very weird indeed....

gio71 · 21/04/2008 07:23

hows dd Rosa?

hotHELL · 21/04/2008 10:21

rosa?

Rosa · 21/04/2008 10:33

Hi all , Its not scarlet fever or streptococco as doc did tampone ( trauma or what). he thinks it could either be a virus or a version of the 5a malatia but as the puntini come and go in vairying strengths it is a bit of a mystery. At surgery they were poco on her legs but more on arms now got home and they are more on legs. She is grumpy and hungry but everything hurts when she eatsI made some lollies last night but dropped them this morning ( ok so the freezer was a bit full ). We will see. I got soaked as it is pis*ing it down here. Gio glad your ds is much better now as doc said no point in giving her antibiotics as nothig is showing up . Lets hope that the puntini go as fast as they came!
