Morning wenches.

Cold and damp this morning.

Didn’t have a bath after all.

<pushes Helen’s work into the dungeon>

We have a little cat ornament in the garden to mark LetUsCat. <squidge> Wicked.

Hope things are progressing well with FancyDad.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/09/2023 10:22

Morning wenches. It was daaark this morning. Sad and slightly cooler than I'd have liked for going out to feed the chickens in shorts Grin.

I have been apple-preserving again, and now I'm knuckling down to the freelance thing.

ApricotCrush · 21/09/2023 16:25

Afternoon. Nice day except for the downpour earlier.

Sad at the pet memorials. We used to have a rabbit and her little pot of ashes is buried where she used to sit under her favourite tree.

My computer died again yesterday so I've spent most of the day trying to revive it. I ended up doing a refresh, so I've lost all my programmes and settings and basically I've had to start from scratch. All my files and photos are still there thank goodness, although after the last time I do have them backed up. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 21/09/2023 19:46

Evening wenches.

Rainy, noticeably colder, dark. Don’t like it.

That’s so lovely about the rabbit Apricot ❤️. Good luck with your computer.

Just properly sitting down now after getting in, with the exception of having something to eat.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/09/2023 21:35

Nooooooooooo! Sad Bloody computers apricot - at least you had files backed up.

When I was growing up, the garden (or ore accurately, the wood next door, was littered with memorial stones for a succession of hamsters!

DH has just discovered the new series of Taskmaster, so we're watching that. (Also watched the first episode of Henpocalypse, which was Hmm. We'll give it another episode before we give up on it.)

LetUsPrey · 22/09/2023 07:41

Morning wenches.

Cold and damp and miserable. So much in common with the weather. Friday though so that’s something.

We’ve still only done two episodes of The Woman in the Wall. Can’t seem to get round to watching anything together.

Have excellent days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/09/2023 08:24

Morning. It's damp here, and a bit sunny. And someone is shooting at the geese. <le bang, bang, bang; le sigh>

The manshapes ought to be out tonight, unless DS decides that he can't be bothered, so I was thinking I'd watch a film, btu actually I'll go to see dad and then by the time I've done that and eaten, it will be too late to start watching a film. Will have to watch a bit-of-a-film instead.

ApricotCrush · 22/09/2023 16:24

Afternoon. Quite a nice day but it’s getting colder. I don’t want to go into winter clothes yet, we’re in them for too long. Sad

Nothing much going on here, DH is still moping around moaning about his shoulder. It’s beginning to feel like lockdown except we can see people. I think next week we’ll have to get out a bit if he’s no better.

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/09/2023 18:17

My blob was late for a week and I was so happy, I’m finally getting rid of it! But apparently not as it just showed up 🙄

FancyFancy · 22/09/2023 18:27

Evening
Am back home for a bit. The cold wasn't a cold - it was sodding covid so I have spent the week up at my parents & not been able to visit FancyDad since Monday. It's also meant no real progress on getting support in for my stepmum as we can't get care agencies to make their home assessment visits, understandably. So that was the cherry on the cake. Oh, and there were 100s & 1000s on that cherry - found out driving through a rainshower on the motorway that one windscreen wiper was missing. It was there a few days ago when I'd last driven through rain and was fine for the MOT the other week, but today? Nope. I can only think that some fucker nicked it as surely I'd notice something that size falling off while in use. Hospital are trying to arrange a family meeting about FancyDad next week to report on progress and plan ahead, so trying to sort out logistics with FancySis.

Moan moan moan.

Thanks for the faf wenches, much needed. May treat myself to the nudist camp episode of Lucifer tonight, after I've caught up on some work......

LetUsPrey · 22/09/2023 19:32

Evening wenches.

Cold. Don’t like it. So much rain too.

Enjoy your half a film Helen. I rewatched Emma last night and did some proper sighing when Knightley proposes.

Hope you get some okay weather Apricot so you can get out for some walks for the sake of your sanity

Oh flipping heck Fancy. As if the universe hadn’t shovelled enough shit in your direction recently. To be honest, nothing short of a live re-enactment of that episode for you would do.

FancyFancy · 22/09/2023 20:12

<dies just thinking about a live re-enactment of that episode>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/09/2023 21:58

Oh Fancy. It never rains men but it pours shit - which is even more inconvenient with a missing wiper. That's just bizarre. and irritating. <paddington bear stare and spiked baseball bat for the wiper thief>

I have not even turned the TV on yet. Spent ages at Dad's and then came home to cooked an omlette, and did life admin stuff. (I know how to live! Hmm ) The manshapes are due home imminently so it's not really worth starting anything now. Possibly a starstruck, because they're only 20 minutes, but even then, they'll arrive half way through and talk over it. In fact, I just heard a car door, so they're back now.

Apricot - just get winter clothes on and take MrA out for a walk!

Wicked - sympathies. You have see Fleabag haven't you? (Kristen Scott Thomas in the bar with PW) Grin

LetUsPrey · 23/09/2023 09:10

Morning wenches.

I’m still waiting for what KST said in Fleabag to come true.

Heck of a way to go though Fancy Grin

I’ve been on top of the washing all week. Why is it the basket is full and I have enough washing to last for days? Sigh. Should get moving. Dishes to do, dry my hair, go to nearby village to collect prescription. Might accidentally stumble into the bookshop.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/09/2023 09:25

Morning all. It's sunny here atm, but I can see dubious looking clouds out of a different window. I'm out this afternoon, so I AM going to do productive things this morning, and not just sit on the sofa with the laptop...

FancyFancy · 23/09/2023 15:13

Damn right letus

I have new windscreen wipers - whoot! The garage I go to is in FancyMan's town, but they are worth the trip - amazing value for money and so helpful. With the added bonus of an outdoor cup of tea with FancyMan in his garden afterwards. No more excuses now, time to get to work <grumbles>

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/09/2023 16:27

Looked it up on Youtube Helen, so true!

Covid Fancy? That really sucks Angry

Ordered The Running Grave today, wohoo Smile

Did someone force you to buy any books Letus? Grin

ApricotCrush · 23/09/2023 17:36

Afternoon. Sunny day so I washed the bedding and sat outside for an hour. The wind was cold though.

Oh Fancy, poor you. Hope you feel better now and yay for new wiper and cuppa with Fancyman.

I searched YouTube too, I’d forgotten that scene. I could write a book. Hmm

Talking about books, I haven’t bought Ink Black Heart yet, I must catch up.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 23/09/2023 18:43

Evening wenches.

They’d sold out of the new Richard Osman Wicked, but I was forced to buy a couple of other books.

Rained a tiny bit but did get some washing done. Lots of knitting today.

Hurrah for fixed wipers Fancy and bonus visit too!

Watching Strictly now.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/09/2023 21:30

Evening all. We haven't had any rain here, though I'm sure some was forecast. The wind was cool, but mostly it was quite pleasant - we did a daft fun run thing this afternoon, which was more of a mooch than a run, but still fun (DS left us for dust of course). I haven't ordered Troubled Blood yet - it's out next week I think. Will try and remember to look in at local bookshops and see if it's half price for the first week or so.

You've been working Fancy? Shock Sad Though hurrah for the cup of tea and new wipers.

I did more sewing for DS' new duvet cover today. I have made my life much harder than I needed to (but it looks fancier<nto> for it), and also realised that I've cocked it up a bit, so there will be improvising tomorrow to try and get it finished. (Bet I won't get it finished.) We also have tomatoes to make into soup (or freeze), and the usual myriad apples. Oh, and raspberries that need to be picked before the birds have them all.

LetUsPrey · 24/09/2023 07:26

Morning wenches.

You’re sounding very domestic goddessy Helen

Up early for a Sunday as DH has a sporting thing which apparently has to involve the whole family. Other than that, usual Sunday applies.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/09/2023 13:11

Afternoon all. I am 100% domestic goddessing, and I expect to be well rewarded <looks pointedly at Athos>
<waits>
<eats Lindors instead>
Tomatoes and apples have been processed, drain has been cleaned (U-bend off and everything) and a cake is baked an cooling on the side. Shock Who am I and what have I done with RealMe?! Duveting was happening, but I sat down on the sofa to recycle some buttons and got distracted by my laptop. (There aren't enough buttons either. I'm sure there were. I'll have to go on a button hunt.)

Hope that MrLetUs enjoys his sporting thing and doesn't bore everyone to tears about it afterwards Wink Also hope that Apricot can get MrA out for some fresh air/exercise to miraculously fix his shoulder.

ApricotCrush · 24/09/2023 17:02

Afternoon. Bit of a miserable day, not much done.

The shoulder is improving as DH keeps showing me by demonstrating it every time our paths cross. Still not good enough for golf though.

Good heavens Helen that is all very impressive.

Hope MrLetUs’s sporting thing went well.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 24/09/2023 19:11

Evening wenches.

DH did super well, better than he was hoping. There has been a lot of after chat which is understandable but still.

Usual Sunday things got done including fresh flapjacks.

How do buttons do that Helen? The ones I’ve got for the various cardigans disappear on a regular basis.

We’ve had Chinese tonight to celebrate so I’m a bit full now. DH wants to watch another episode of Woman in the Wall. I think I’ll be asleep by 9.30.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/09/2023 21:46

Evening all. I have decided that if I can't find enough buttons, then I'll just embrace the chaos and use completely mis-matching ones (have raided Mum's old button box for a selection).

We've had roast beef and the works for tea tonight, so I'm feeling quite full. DH is out tomorrow, so DS and I are looking forward to finishing the Woman in the Wall. We're currently watching Wales vs Australia in the rugby, it's quite entertaining.

Well done to MrLetUs Star

Hope that all is well with Fancy and FancyDad continues to improve.
