Morning all. I have Things to do, but I really can't be arsed. It was sunny first thing - quite scenic actually with the sun on the clouds and stuff. It's still bright now and there must be a break in the clouds, but the sky that I can see without having to move in cloudy.

Happy knitting LetUs. Hope all is as ok as possibly forFancy.

ApricotCrush · 16/09/2023 17:17

Afternoon. But of a miserable day.

I’ve done pretty much the same as you LetUs, some general housework and then some knitting.

Love the story of the intruder in DS1’s bedroom.

Evening wenches.

I’ve washed and knitted and had a bath and read. Watching Strictly launch show now helped by Pimms.

<directs squidges and Biscoff spread to Fancy>

FancyFancy · 16/09/2023 20:58

Couldn't sworn I'd posted yesterday....

FancyDad has been moved to a community hospital for rehab and I am home for a few days - bit knackered and feel a cold is coming on. Also picked up FancyCat's ashes today <blubs> Am relaxing with a curry and athletics on the TV - first race shown has Magi, the hot Estonian hurdler #trying to focus on the positives

LetUsPrey · 17/09/2023 08:30

Morning wenches.

Sounds positive hopefully for FancyDad. Big wenchy hug Fancy. A proper one Hope the cold doesn’t develop.

Rainy here. Usual Sunday beckons. Anyone want to do my ironing for me? No? Don’t blame you.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2023 10:24

Morning. I'm shattered and would rather be asleep still. Motivation levels are at 0. <winge, whine, grumble, etc> I was going to go for a walk with a friend but that's just been postponed, so I have no excuse for not getting on with stuff around the house.

Fingers crossed for FancyDad coming on leaps and bounds in rehab, and continuing <cwtch> re. FancyCat. Colds can FTFO too.

<lobs wool around the tavern at crafty wenches>
<lobs HBFs and alcohol for good measure>
<installs huge comfy bed and crawls in>

ApricotCrush · 17/09/2023 16:38

Afternoon. Cloudy and a bit miserable here.

Hope FancyDad recover quickly. <hugs> re FancyCat.

Dooooooooom here. DH has injured his arm/shoulder. Doesn’t know how he’s done it but no golf for a while. Sad I’ve never heard so much whinging, he wasn’t this bad when he had his knees done. Hmm

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/09/2023 17:48

Evening wenches.

You have my full sympathies Apricot. DH’s back is hurting. I’ve no doubt he’s having some pain but goodness don’t we all know about it? And obviously it’s worse than anything I’ve had recently because I didn’t wang on about it. He’s got a half marathon next weekend and is determined he won’t miss it. Hope MrApricot recovers quickly so he can get back to his golf.

<throws extra HBF at huge comfy bed for Helen>

I’ve done the usual Sunday things. <holds arms out to catch balls of wool>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/09/2023 20:25

Shock [horror] at no golf for MrA. <send thoughts and prayer for apricot>

Also <le grand sigh> at MrLetUs.

I've had a very unproductive day of reading, when I should have been doing lots of things <nlt> The annual apple preserving toil has begun. <is tiiiiiiiiired (without having done much)>

LetUsPrey · 18/09/2023 07:37

Morning wenches.

I had a conversation with NiceColleague the other week Helen about taking time to read for example. We need to get without this mindset of unproductive if you’ve been reading. It’s very fecking difficult to ditch that mindset though.

Everything’s damp and soggy here. Very Monday.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/09/2023 08:02

All very damp and soggy here. About an inch of rain overnight and I got woken by thunder (I think) at 1am, in that rather hazy, early-hours 'did I hear that or am I imagining things?' sort of way. I definitely got woken at 4am from a fairly innocuous dream which ended with us in a bus that was being hit by an avalanche. <shudder> I considered just getting up at that point, but it was 4am and I did manage to get back to sleep.

Agreed re. reading LetUs - the problem (as ever) is that when you read instead of doing things, the untouched things are still sitting there glowering at you when you've finished reading. So I should really at least make a start on stuff before I pick the book up. Ho hum.

Hope everywench has a good day.

ApricotCrush · 18/09/2023 16:25

Afternoon. Rain and sun here.

Thanks wenches. He won't take any painkillers as he 'won't know when it's improving.' <sigh> When I fell flat on my face injured my ribs earlier this year, I took paracetamol for a month and just got on with everything. As you do.

Hope MrLetUs is able to do his half-marathon.

Shock at the avalanche dream.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/09/2023 19:46

Evening. It's been a bit wet again, and I have been working and being a grown-up (aka starting my tax return). That's about it. Nothing exciting.

If MrA doesn't want to take painkiller, then fine. But he doesn't get to complain that it hurts either. I sort of understand the attitude - I've refused painkillers sometimes because I want it to hurt if I do something I shouldn't since that's more likely to stop me doing more than I should. But still...

Oh - also, we did have thunder. Apparenlty the lightning was impressive. I slept through it, and on balance am glad that DH didn't wake me up to see it!

LetUsPrey · 18/09/2023 20:13

Evening wenches.

Absolute downpours of rain this evening and it’s already very very dark.

Obviously the stuff mostly gets done first Helen, but there’s always something needs to be done. Could we possibly have some pleasant dreams for wenches pleaseandthankyou.

Hope MrApricot is soon on the mend and back golfing for the good of everyone ChezApricot Grin

Imagine being woken up to see the lightning. Yeah, no Grin

LetUsPrey · 19/09/2023 07:29

Morning wenches.

Absolutely piddling it down. Day off today as waiting for a delivery and then taking car in for its service. Not sure of plans for rest of the day but it’ll go in a flash.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/09/2023 10:42

Morning all. Cloudy and windy here, with the occasional half-hearted attempt at rain. My motivation to do anything is microscopic.

LetUs you should spend your day off lounging about doing not very much HBFs - take one for the team and all that. Grin

ApricotCrush · 19/09/2023 16:24

Afternoon. Yes, rain here just after I put the washing on the line ffs.

DH did some light gardening this morning and now his arm hurts again. He’s taken ibuprofen. <sigh>

Excitement of the week - we have a new kettle. Hmm The old one has been leaking for months weeks but I love it and they’re £117 now which is ridiculous for a kettle. It was £50 when we bought it. Anyway I discovered they’re half price at Curry’s in their sale so I ordered one. Yay!

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 19/09/2023 17:07

Afternoon wenches.

Even though I didn’t really plan the day, it didn’t go as planned if that makes sense. Delivery was late but that was due to epic traffic because of a serious accident on the motorway. That had a knock on effect getting to the garage. Got home, whizzed through some housework, out to get some shopping and collect DS2 from college because it was still chucking it down. Then a bit more housework and waiting for garage to ring. What should have been about a 45 minute round trip to collect my car took twice as long. Back home now but I don’t feel like I’ve had much of a day off. Should get a grip really.

A decent kettle is important Apricot. That’s excellent getting a new one at such a bargain.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/09/2023 21:33

Evening all. Today I have mostly been adulting again with tax return prep.

Boo to the busy day LetUs - even if it was doing things that needed to be done. You should relax on the chaise and get a grip on the decorations. Grin

Hurrah for the kettle Apricot - isn't it nice when there's a convenient sale on.

Hope all is well Chez Fancy and Wicked

LetUsPrey · 20/09/2023 07:34

Morning wenches.

<flexes> Grin

Raaaiiinnn wiiiiinnnddd. I vote we all stay in the Tav.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/09/2023 07:44

Morning all. No Raiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin but lots of wiiiiiiiiiind<nlt> Was thinking I'd WFG today, but it seems to have dropped so I'll shortly be chugging my way to BoringOfficeJob.

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 20/09/2023 17:06

Afternoon. Much rain and wind here too. I dashed out to do a few jobs in between the showers.

Good luck with the tax return Helen.

Hope LetUs has recovered from her stressful ‘day off’ and Fancy and WW are alright.

LetUsPrey · 20/09/2023 19:38

Evening wenches.

Rain finally stopped at around 2pm which was jolly helpful and just in time for my early finish. Managed to get some knitting done when I got home. Haven’t done much else really.

Considering having a bath as DH and the DC will be watching the football.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/09/2023 19:56

Evening. Urgh - football. There was football traffic brewing when I left work today. Do hope that DH isn't planning to watch whatever it is.

Today at work has been one long irritant of various misunderstandings causing extra work. FMWork, etc. I think the rain started here at about the same time as it stopped with you LetUs

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/09/2023 20:08

Well done on the kettle Apes Smile

❤about the ashes Fancy. I still have Corinne's and Sigrid's ashes in their urns, haven't found the right place to spread the ashes yet.
