Afternoon. Oh gosh WW I thought it was cold here, there was ice in the puddles this morning, but it wasn't that bad. Brrrrrr.

Did a food shop this afternoon while DH collected DGS and very strangely met my friend from a town about 10 miles away. It's funny how you can't place someone when they're out of context. It took me a few seconds of thinking it is her, but it can't be. She'd brought her sister-in-law to do some shopping apparently.

We have rain here still/again. I can't remember when I last checked the rain gauge, but I suspect that it's overflowing.

I do like bumping into people when I'm out shopping. Though like you say, it can be a bit of a double-take moment while you work out who they are/why you recognise them.

I ought to go and have a shower, but IntelligentCat is sitting on me, purring, so I can't move.

Morning all. It rained overnight and was cloudy, so no frost here. It's cleared over now so there's silvery-grey sky with great big dark grey clouds lurking ominously about in one direction, and just a sheet of cloud cover in another direction. And it's cold, but not that cold.

DH didn’t get the box down from the loft with the Christmas cards in it. Tempted to say ah well, too late to send ones that need posting. He will dispute and I will suggest if he’s that bothered, he can do them himself.

Good point LetUs - some of the plots are very complicated, and also he may be disturbed by the violence and bloodshed. You're definitely being a responsible parent here.

Cold outside - there's been a sharp ground frost at some point in the night because the grass was crunchy underfoot when I refilled the bird table, but the patio is just wet rather than icy and the washing line is dripping. Clear skies to the east, so it's not too dark, but it's clouding over. I should probably go out and feed the chickens now. Yesterday it started raining just as I went out <le sigh/squelch>

Or it might be too late for that, looking at the speed the clouds are coming in. Dooooooooooom.

Yep - too late. It was raining by the time I got to the back door, and that had turned to hail/sleet but the time I was coming back in. The bird bath is frozen solid; the patio must have just been sheltered enough to avoid it last night. Or we have previously undiscovered under-patio heating.

Also, did I say that the trailer for one of the French adaptations is out? There is no FAF and they all look in their 40s!

That movie looks amazing, except the lack of FAF. What's the point really doing a movie about Musketeers without FAF? Eva Green as Milady looks good though, but Maimie will always be nr 1.

I’m definitely leaning towards not doing the cards that need putting in the post. Fortunately the small parcel and card that I definitely want to send north can go with LovelyMIL on an upcoming trip.

I think that the new film could be fun, if you can just watch it for what it is and not compare with BBC. And read the subtitles because there's no way I'll understand what they're saying in French.
