Thread 173 Shock. Break out the duvets and huddle round the scorching hot brazier HBF-of-choice.

Yet more domestic drivel and shameless perving.

What kind of car do you have Apes? And also, yikes what a weirdo Confused

And congratulations on the cativersary ❤️❤️❤️❤️

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/04/2023 18:35

Envy at bat Fancy

LetUsPrey · 20/04/2023 19:12

Evening wenches.

Agree re vet bills and treatments and all the bits and bobs relating to pet ownership are very worth it.

Bit jealous of the line dried washing but only myself to blame. And it’s going to be raining for the next few days.

Started a new knitting project tonight, just a little one though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/04/2023 19:39

Pfft. I did no washing either LetUs - we can look at our empty washing lines together. Grin

Pets are money pits - no two ways about it. But they are worth it. <side-eyes at Killer Kitty, who I wouldn't be without. Except when he's hanging off me by his teeth. Hmm> I can't believe that it's a whole year since Misty became at TavCat Shock Next door have Indian Runner Ducks, they're very chatty and also upright, so I think they're probably all look-out ducks. That probably means they can talk in duck shorthand to each other, because they all spot the same things at the same time. "Pheasant!" "Tractor!" "Mallards!" "People Bringing Food!" "Another Tractor!" I'm a bit jealous, I quite fancy Indian Runner Ducks - though so do the local foxes, so at least I'm spared that particular bit of stress.

Today I have mostly been helping Dad, so I've been on my feet all day. Then I came home to do a catch-up on the work I hadn't done today, so I'm thinking that a long soak in the bath is in order for tonight.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 21/04/2023 07:33

Morning wenches.

That does sound a busy day Helen. Hope you got your soak.

If Indian Runner Ducks don’t wear little sweatbands on their heads, I’m going to be very disappointed Grin

Dull and damp here but it’s Friday.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/04/2023 07:40

Morning wenches. It's a lovely rainy day out there. I stayed up far too late last night finishing a book, so wasn't asleep until after midnight, and then woke up before six and heard the rain. I may be existing on caffiene later...

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/04/2023 07:45

Also, talking about the washing (that we can't do because it's raining) this popped up on my FB feed... I fear I may be infected now. (Though I may be cured by the time I actually get a load in the machine, because that won't be today.)

"Every time I put some clothes in the wash I sing la-u-ndry over and over like it's the chorus from “Zombie” by The Cranberries, and that's a pretty representative glimpse into the terrifying 90s pop culture meat grinder that is my brain"

ApricotCrush · 21/04/2023 16:36

Afternoon. What a difference to yesterday, rain all morning. It's brightened up now though.

We have had a huge delivery of building materials for resurfacing the flat roof tomorrow. I hate people being in the house, even if they're outside. Someone's also coming to treat the lawn. <cries> However, if it rains, it may be postponed but I'd rather get it over and done with now.

My car is a 1997 white Toyota MR2 GT WW. It needs some work doing like its owner as it's going rusty along the sills below the doors. I do love it though. You don't see them very often these days.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 21/04/2023 19:48

Cool car Apes 😀

TFIF🍷

Didn’t sleep well last night and been feeling weird all day, restless and anxious, then the blob made an early visit so that explains it Hmm

LetUsPrey · 21/04/2023 20:10

Evening wenches.

Chocolate and wine and repeat Wicked.

As if you’d ever look the human version of rusty along the sills Apricot. Also hate having people working in or around the house. I’m always convinced they’ll find a problem with what they’re doing.

Early night for you Helen. Grin at zombie song washing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/04/2023 22:35

Evening all. It has been yet another day of spreadsheet reconciliations and general financial fuckwittery. I am looking forward to not doing much for the next two days. Though I will probably spend lots of time helping Dad with stuff.

Morning wenches.

You sound completely done in Helen <cwtch>

Plan today is buying fancy knitting needles, house stuff, revision prompting/nagging, knitting, not snacking. Could really overdo it and try to persuade DS2 out for a walk.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/04/2023 11:17

At the moment my blob is like a cat that can’t decide if it want’s to go in or out, so annoying Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/04/2023 14:11

Morning wenches. Next door adopted a rescue cockerel. It spent the night in one of our trees. It woke up and crowed at 4:30am. It's refusing to be caught and repatriated. <le sigh>
In other news, helping Dad, and on a lunch break. Second load of washing is on a quick wash in the machine before I get back to work. So it's clouding over - obviously!

Good point on the homework LetUs - I'd better check to see what DS has got. (Why does Fancy need knitting needles? Wink)

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 22/04/2023 16:49

Afternoon. Well, it didn't rain, the lawn is scarified and the men are still on the roof doing the resurfacing. No idea if they'll finish today as I'm not going to get involved. There was so much noise going on that poor Misty didn't know where to sleep. She finished up on my place on the chaise and she's still there.

Oh Helen, that's not good news re the cockerel.

Grin at Fancy knitting needles. I really must find something to knit.

<cwtch> WW. So glad I'm past all that.

LetUsPrey · 22/04/2023 20:22

Evening wenches.

God that why does Fancy need knitting needles thing took me a while 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ what a muppet Grin

It’ll soon be done Apricot (hopefully). In the meantime you could cuddle up with Misty on the chaise.

Sounds so crap Wicked, but your description made me smile. More Wineand 🍫.

A cockerel next door does not sound fun at all Helen.

The forecast rain didn’t arrive and I did manage to get a couple of loads done. I’ve finished the little knitting project and have started a larger one. Made quite good headway but have put it away for tonight as I’m enjoying a vodka. Need to keep going with the knitting though as I’ve just found out there’s another family baby on the way!

FancyFancy · 22/04/2023 21:55

Evening
Have had another theatre trip <feels cultural> & am pooped. Hoping for a dryish day tomorrow so I can potter in the garden, with the blossom out & the primroses it's looking very springlike.

More babies letus? Lovely news Smile

<sends more Wine ww's way>

Those Indian Runner Ducks look soooo cute! Escapee cockerel? Less so. i'm irritated enough by one songbird in the garden, think it's a song thrush but it's extremely repetitive, which is both why I'm not too sure & why it's irritating. I thought they were supposed to have a wide repertoire of 'songs' that they repeat a limited number of times <hard stare in general direction of trees>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/04/2023 22:32

Evening all.

Cockerel update - I have caught and repatriated the little sod. (He just wants to be 'friends' with ours. And by 'friends' I of course mean, shag the hens and fight the cockerels.) I can see him being back though, the moment he can escape agaion Hmm.

Anyway, excellent news re the baby LetUs - good reason to keep knitting. (Though not at the same time as the vodka. Unless the baby is expected to have one arm longer than the other, and a tiny head Grin )

LOL at misty on the chaise - I'm imaging in the HBFs going to sit down and then hastily retreating at the murderous looks from Misty. My chaise. Grin Fingers crossed for a less noisy day tomorrow.

LetUsPrey · 23/04/2023 09:47

Morning wenches.

Hurrah for culture and fingers crossed for being able to potter Fancy. I don’t know what bird it is but there’s one that sounds like a squeaky wheel that does my head in.

Knitting and vodka is definitely not a good mix, although I suppose I could pass off the creations as avant garde Grin

Usual Sunday here. Might do the ironing early - really mix things up. Whoop.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/04/2023 10:35

Morning all. DS and DH headed off during the dawn chorus for a far-away sporting event. So I got lots of chirpy birds this morning (though I went back to bed after they'd gone). Maybe Fancy's repetitive bird has short term memory issues so it keeps starting its repertoire at the beginning again?

Anyway, hope the rain stays off for everyone, until after dark when we don't mind the garden being watered.

ApricotCrush · 23/04/2023 16:03

Afternoon. Rain this morning but it’s cleared up now. The roofers didn’t go until 9 o’clock last night. They were working under floodlight. ShockThey wanted to get it done before the rain came. Anyway it’s done now.

Well, I was quite excited about the alarm thing. We’d got 4 phones and 3 iPads in the room and DS’s phone went off at 3.01 and DGD’s at 3.18 Confused but nothing from the others. Quite disappointing.

Yay for new baby, theatre visit and captured cockerel.

LetUsPrey · 23/04/2023 18:37

Evening wenches.

Today started out quite pleasant and was regretting not putting a wash outside. We’ve just had about two hours of rain and hail.

Haven’t done anything out of the ordinary for a Sunday. Started series 5 of Downton.

Hurrah for the roof being done Apricot.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/04/2023 21:49

Evening.

The rain started here at about 2pm and is still going Confused. Hope that Fancy had enough dry weather to get out into the garden.

Glad to hear that the roof got finished Apricot - even if it was rather a late night.

I'm very tired, despite getting back to sleep this morning (with cat-shaped interruptions).

LetUsPrey · 24/04/2023 07:39

Morning wenches.

Sunshine today which I think is deceptive and the rain will come later.

Feeling all stressy and anxious and not sure why. Fun times. It being Monday doesn’t help.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/04/2023 07:58

Morning all. Dismal weather here still.

I had a headache for lots of yesterday and finally knocked it out with drugs last night - guess what's back this morning... FMHeadache. More drugs have been taken. So, I'm tired and my head hurts - Happy Monday. winge winge winge etc.

<cwtch> for LetUs Hope that everyone has a bearable Monday.
