Yet more rubbish intelligent sparkling conversations to get us through the day.

Morning wenches.

They are so casual like that Wicked.

Sunny but much more pleasant temperatures wise and we’ve had rain overnight.

I suppose I’d better get a move on with the day. <sidles to ladder and climbs up to hayloft>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2022 10:03

Morning wenches.

Well. Yesterday started off with the discovery that Activity 1 was fully booked. Poop. But never mind - we had plenty of other plans. So, having double-checked the relevant website, we set off for Attraction 1, which was down lots of wiggly winding roads and bumpy tracks. Attraction 1 turned out to be barricaded off with big metal safety fences and closed for the forseeable future for essential repairs. F.M.L. Fortunately, Attraction 2 was open, and the weather was very nice and sunny with posh ice-creams on site. Then after that the beach was visited, fish and chips were eaten, and then we found a nice pub along the coast, and another beach and watched the sun set over the sea. It was all very nice.

So that was two days of doing nice things and no complaints from bored DS to cast a pall over it. He seems to be having fun on his school trip too. So win-win.

I seem to have buggered my knee up a bit though. I shall hang out washing/get back to my email mountain recline on the chaise <quickly burns cover and re-upholsters it> and wait for DrAthos' attentions. ylt.

FancyFancy · 14/07/2022 13:20

Rain Envy
Not too bad here either, quite a breeze. ScaredyCat still not eating, but she is behaving much more normally now otherwise, which is good.

Out for dinner tonight with DS & DD as it was DS's birthday last week Smile

ApricotCrush · 14/07/2022 17:28

Afternoon. Sunny and not too hot, although I haven't been outside much.

DGS has covid as well now, although DD has tested negative, so she can go out of prison.

Congrats on being a great-aunt-to-be LetUs. We have three great-nephews and one great-niece on DH's side, but haven't seen them since their christenings as they live in other parts of the country.

That sounds like a lovely day Helen.

Evening wenches.

Attraction 2 sounds excellent Helen, particularly when featuring posh ice cream, fish and chips, a pub and a sunset. Ouch at knee though.

Yes. Rain. Not forecast so that was an unwelcome surprise on the latter part of the journey to work for the walk from the car park with no coat and no umbrella. Soon dried off though.

Happy last week birthday to FancyDS - enjoy the meal out! <squidge> to ScaredyCat.

Oh poor DGS Apricot. Hope he’s not poorly with it. I quite like the Great Aunt title. Goes well with the knitting Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2022 23:43

Evening all. We have no rain.

Hope that ApricotDGS isn't too rough and that Fancy has had a nice meal out with the DCs, and that ScaredyCat starts eating (I blame the heat? hopefully?) Hurrah for new babies and more reasons to knit *LetUs Grin

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2022 07:48

Morning wenches.

Friiidddddaaayyyyyyy!!!!!

Dull, overcast, quite cool. Not looking forward to the early part of next week but I’ll just ignore that for now.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/07/2022 15:40

Afternoon all.

DS is home, so late night last night and lie-in for everyone today. Today I am mostly swearing at the new work system again. Because I spent hours trying to identify an issue in a finance report, and it turns out that there was a problem with the reports and if I'd just run it again, it would have been fine. FMAL, that's hours wasted of my life that I'll never get back Angry Mind you, I says 'just re-run the report' I'm trying this message while I wait for it to run and it's bloody slow.

Hope all wenches are having a better day than me. I am comfort-eating chocolate to the point of turning into a barrage balloon (but larger and heavier)

ApricotCrush · 15/07/2022 17:09

Afternoon. Quite cool here, but warming up now I think. Like LetUs I'm a bit apprehensive about next week, 38 degrees forecast here. Shock

What's the weather like in your part of the world WW?

Hope Fancy had a lovely meal with DD and DS and belated happy birthday to him.

What a pain Helen, everything seems to be so difficult. I've spent half the day trying to sort out the house insurance. It's all online and they locked me out and wouldn't let me change the password. Argh!

Have a lovely evening all. Wine

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/07/2022 18:15

Quite unsteady weather here Apes, rain, sun, cloudy etc.

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2022 20:38

Evening wenches.

Are you sure you’re not in Scotland Wicked? Grin

38° Apricot? That sounds awful. Doesn’t sound fun for anywench really.

Hope MiniHelen had a good time. NiceColleague had a similar what a sodding waste of time yesterday episode, also involving financial matters. Very very frustrating.

I’m watching football and sorting through my knitting stuff.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/07/2022 22:22

We have just watched the first Ghostbusters film Grin

Next week sounds grim weather-wise. Damp cloths all round. DS has been told to come to school in PE kit. I think his school shirt is cooler than the PE shirt, but ok... DS is planning a meet-up on Sunday Hmm

FancyFancy · 15/07/2022 23:53

Evening. Manic few days at work <sighs>

Had a lovely meal last night with DS & DD, was great to see DS more content than he's seemed for ages. Wish I could say the same for ScaredyCat, after perking up earlier in the week, she's barely eaten for two days now & with the hot weather looming I'm getting really worried for her - not sure I want to wait
for her next vet appointment on Tuesday Sad

LetUsPrey · 16/07/2022 09:03

Morning wenches.

<squidge> for both you and ScaredyCat Fsncy. Hope you can get her seen at the vet when you want to. Good to hear that about FancyDS.

That first Ghostbusters film is excellent Grin I was thinking the same about PE kits v uniform here. I’m leaving it up to DS2.

Today is a lot of washing, bit of shopping, not much else.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2022 13:01

Afternoon all. Glad to hear that FancyDS is doing well. <cbf> at ScaredyCat for not eating. We had to syringe-feed Inconvenient Cat briefly when he was ill and he went off his food, but it got him back in the habit of eating.

It is hot and sunny (#BrokenRecord) and I need to be tidying the house and picking blueberries and cherries before they go over. The cats are flaked out because it is too hot to do anything else. Though KillerKitty has been outside in the shade as well, and belting about the garden while I was watering - because he is also IdiotKitty

FancyFancy · 16/07/2022 16:18

Did get ScaredyCat seen again today. Awesome cat-wrangling skills displayed by the vet, although we're no further forward really. She has been given meds to make her more comfy and she's booked in for a general anaesthetic and a barrage of tests on Monday so hoping for some answers then. Apparently her guts are not completely empty so something has been going in. Maybe she has just enough appetite for whatever she has butchered in the garden Hmm

ApricotCrush · 16/07/2022 18:05

Afternoon. Very hot and sunny here. We've been to DS's for a family BBQ as he had his kids today. Sadly DGS and son-in-law couldn't come because covid, but DD is over it and came. Smile

The heatwave clearly hasn't reached you WW, don't know whether that's a good thing or not.

Fingers crossed for ScaredyCat.

LetUsPrey · 16/07/2022 21:39

Evening wenches.

Did some shopping, did eleventy billion washes, had my hair done, read, finished my jigsaw. I now appear to have all the pollen up my nose and can’t take any more antihistamines until about 11.

Everything crossed that the investigations find out what’s troubling ScaredyCat.

Family barbecue sounds lovely Apricot. We had one too but the only extra person was DS1’s girlfriend. Hope the Covid sufferers are better soon,

Grin at simultaneous Killer/IdiotKitty

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/07/2022 07:30

Morning wenches. It is hot and sunny and the livestock are fed. Intelligent cat is disgruntled because I haven't let her upstairs yet, but in the meantime she's giving her feet a wash, which reminds me - I must clip her claws because they're catching on the carpet and it doesn't do much for her dignity when she's walking along and then gets a leg stuck behind her Grin.

Horsing, gardening, and wilting in the heat are the plans for today.

The pollen can FTFO form LetUs's nose. <cbf>

Hope that everyone has a good day and ScaredyCat eats something other than whatever she's slaughtered in the garden! Covid can also FTFO from everyone.

LetUsPrey · 17/07/2022 07:59

Morning wenches.

Anything outside related gets done early this morning and then I will hide indoors - with the door open - for the rest of the day. Ironing should be fun.

Grin at IntelligentCat getting stuck. Look at me, strolling along, I look amaz… oh bollocks I’m stuck.

<hands round Factor 100 for everywench>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/07/2022 12:22

I have been out and horsed. And got bitten by a sodding horsefly.
<lies under airblade>

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/07/2022 12:56

We had around 30 degrees at my move and when I cleaned the house Hmm
38 degrees sounds awful Shock

Hope Scaredycat gets better soon!

I start working again tomorrow, yuk! Can't say I feel that rested after three weeks off work.

FancyFancy · 17/07/2022 16:22

Have been out to a local plant fair. Wasn't really planning to buy anything, but you can probably guess how that went 😆

ScaredyCat is still not eating but is outside a lot and I came across small-animal-innards in the garden earlier so maybe she is catching some food?

ApricotCrush · 17/07/2022 16:46

Afternoon. It's 30 degrees here but overcast. It doesn't feel too bad, but I've been in a sarong all day without any knickers, which is very liberating. Grin

I haven't been able to clip Misty's claws yet, and she has the same problem with some of the carpets. It would take the two of us to do it and I don't want to upset her.

Gosh that went quickly WW.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/07/2022 21:39

What did you accidentally buy Fancy? Grin And good to hear that ScaredyCat is disembowelling the local wildlife!

I havent' done IntellligentCat's claws yet - need to get her and clippers in the same place.

Oh - Darwin Award time - I was up in the loft yesterday, where I keep the rat poison securely stashed in a plastic tub. Mouse/rats had gnawed their way through the plastic and eaten all the poison!
