Evening all. My brain is mush and my ankle is pretty much ok now.

Hope that ScaredyCat has got on well today. Our two have just been flaked out trying not to overheat.

We had a few splodges of rain, that evaporated before it hit the ground. There has been no thunder. It has been quite windy - hopefully more than so chez apricot or I worry for her clothing - or lack of it Grin

Hurrah for finishing one knitting project LetUs. What's your next project, for you? Can you knit HBFs?

<crawls off to lie on the bed and wait for Athos/keep legs raised feel tooooooooo hooooooooooooooootttt>

FancyFancy · 20/07/2022 22:27

We have rain! <gloats> this does mean I can't open the windows much, but I couldn't anyway because of keeping ScaredyCat in. She is back home, still not eating - bar a tiny speck of Waitrose ham - but I guess it's still early days. She is taking more of the food via the tube which is maintaining her weight and fluids. Have made her a cardboard box nest on DS's bed. Took her all of ...oooh, 2 seconds to climb in.

LetUsPrey · 21/07/2022 07:37

Morning wenches.

Next thing is a dog coat so no rush for it to be done but I windy want to leave it. That reminds me of a slogan on one of those graffiti posters - “the army made me a man. Oh good, if I get them the wool will they make me one too” Grin

ScaredyCat sounds very cosy in her special nest bed. Hope she continues to improve.

Have good days everywench.

FancyFancy · 21/07/2022 10:13

ScaredyCat is hiding under a bed from me, seems to think the new morning routine is a trip to the vet. Actually I just want to feed her.

Working from home today & just trying to cool the house down by opening windows & still keeping ScaredyCat inside.

A knitted dog coat sounds cute letus Grin

ApricotCrush · 21/07/2022 16:39

Afternoon. Much cooler and we’ve had a light shower but not enough to do any good. You’ll be pleased to know that I’m properly dressed now.

Aww at ScaredyCat in her cardboard box nest, they do love them. Hope she’s recovering.

Dog coat sounds lovely LetUs and much quicker to knit than my jumper which seems to have stalled. Hmm

My brain is mush as well Helen, it must be all that weather.

Evening all. I have been out all day with my father. I am pooped. But also very much enjoying ScaredyCat's adventures in box-land and also hiding from the vet food Grin Hope she came out to eat eventually and is perking up.

I am imagining a very stylish woolly dog coat - but also a slightly wonky one with slipped stitches and one side longer than the other, in the style of well-meaning but out of proportion hand-knitted jumpers that I would occasionally be given by well-meaning relatives Grin Wench-knitted items are obviously far superior to those!

Also, I am jealous of anyone getting any amount of rain.

LetUsPrey · 21/07/2022 20:02

Evening wenches.

We’ve had spits and spots of rain but it’s so much cooler. The HBFs are disappointed to read your update Apricot Grin

Hope ScaredyCat has brightened some and had something to eat.

The dog coat is chunky yarn and fairly thick needles so I’m fair cracking on with it and haven’t come to a difficult bit of the pattern yet. The premature baby cardigan remains part done so apologies to the very tiny babies.

LetUsPrey · 22/07/2022 07:45

Morning wenches.

We have rain forecast all day <sends some to Helen>

DS2 is very much looking forward to only being in half a day today.

I am looking forward to a large Pimms this evening.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/07/2022 08:33

Morning all. We have clouds <does little rain dance> and I should be tidying the house so that more than one person can fit on the sofa... <faffs online>

DS is also looking forward to a half day here, then 6 weeks of no school. I am looking forward to being able to sleep without a fecking mozzie keeping me and DH awake... "Can you hear that? Where is it... etc."

ApricotCrush · 22/07/2022 17:41

Afternoon. We had a lot of rain in the night and it’s just started again. Won’t have to water the plants. Yay!

DGS broke up from school on Wednesday and he and DD have been round this afternoon for a chat.

Hope ScaredyCat is eating.

Evening wenches.

We had rain alllllll day.

How’s ScaredyCat doing?

Tonight I plan to watch the football and not much else.

FancyFancy · 22/07/2022 21:39

Well ScaredyCat is still not eating, bar one tiny bite of food. Vets were otherwise quite pleased with her progress at her check up today, including putting on a few more grams, so the tube feeding is having some benefit. I have some anti-nausea meds to try to see if that will help. She has been a little brighter at times today but still waiting for the test results.

Bloody mozzies, you have my sympathy helen

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/07/2022 23:27

Oh dear - EAT!!! <Paddington Bear Stare at Scaredy Cat>
<is thoroughly ignored>
Sad Illing cats are worrying. I do hope she perks up soon.

Still no rain here, though we're going out tomorrow, so there will be a deluge. (Probably not)

LetUsPrey · 23/07/2022 07:20

Morning wenches.

Must be very worrying for you Fsncy <squidge> for you and <gentle cuddle> for ScaredyCat.

You can have some of our rain Helen, we’ve plenty.

Today is the usual Saturday excitement with additional picking up a prescription <ooooooooo> and minus homework reminding <hurrah>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/07/2022 10:37

Morning all. We are going to a beer festival. Whoop. Hmm I will take a book and DS's switch. And maybe have a littel snooze as well.

It's warm and sunny and cloudy. No rain.

ApricotCrush · 23/07/2022 16:44

Afternoon. No more rain, but we've had plenty.

Misty has the choice of a chaise, various beds, her bed on top of the scratch post, a padded stool and a squashy bean bag all there for her use, but no, she's asleep in a tiny Amazon box. Confused

Fingers crossed that ScaredyCat is feeling better and eating. I've insured Misty today. I wasn't going to bother, thinking we'd cover any expense as we go along, but seeing what you're going through Fancy and in view of her age, I've changed my mind.

Hope it hasn't got too hot for WW.

Yay for no homework LetUs.

That sounds lovely Helen, have a good time.

Evening wenches.

Grin at Misty shunning actual beds and snuggling down in a box.

Hope you enjoyed your book the beer festival Helen.

No rain forecast so of course it rained and washing got an extra rinse. I’m tired but no doubt I won’t have an early night because that would be sensible.

FancyFancy · 23/07/2022 20:28

Still not persuaded ScaredyCat to eat which is both worrying and frustrating as she has otherwise improved a little - a more relaxed sleeping posture, a little light grooming and much squawking at me to let her out Hmm

Ah Misty, that is proper catting 😁

I'll have some of that rain thanks letus

Did you manage to have a snooze helen?

DS dropped in this afternoon for post lunch tea and biscuits, was very nice 😊

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/07/2022 20:55

That’s cat logic Apes Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/07/2022 20:55

Hope ScaredyCat gets better soon ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/07/2022 09:52

Morning all. Sunny and windy here.

<arf> at Misty - of course she wants the box. (I've never met a more box-obsessed cat than CuteKitten - we just have them on a rota now - a new box comes into the house and whichever is the 'most chewed' box gets put in the recycling.

Fingers crossed for ScaredyCat having breakfast today. Was she pleased to see DS?

No snoozing happened yesterday, and very little reading - other friends turned up shortly after I got there so I had a non-drinker to natter to. We sat inside which was more pleasant in terms of temperature, but the acoustics were awful and it was really noisy.

Not much in the way of plans for today - keeping out of the sun, mostly.

LetUsPrey · 24/07/2022 10:11

Morning wenches.

<lines up many and various foods and treats to tempt ScaredyCat>

We have part blue skies and sunshine for now but it’s fairly breezy and there’s rain forecast again. Visiting this morning and ironing this afternoon.

LetUsPrey · 24/07/2022 19:43

Evening wenches.

Raaaaiiiiinnnnnn, although now it’s gone a bit sunny.

Do I have to go to work tomorrow? I really don’t want to. I want to stay at home and knit and do jigsaws.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/07/2022 20:02

Evening all.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnn. <wilts> My washing hasn't dried so much as been dessicated.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/07/2022 20:07

What happened to this weekend? Why is it Monday tomorrow?

Been to a carboot sale today, found some nice things, quite warm though.
