Evening. Agreed re. the heat. Poor cats are flaked out, never mind me! Much gardening has been done, and low level bickering with DH when I have dared to do the thing he asked me to do rather than the other thing he asked me to do Hmm I blame the heat,

Glad to hear that ScaredyCat has eaten more today, and that Jigsawing and extended birthdays happened.

DS is off for a school trip tomorrow so we have been 'persuading' him to sort out his packing. Not at all stressful. (Also 'eek' at PFB going away without one of us there to slather him in suncream and make sure he drinks lots Hmm Grin and 'eek' at horrendously early start)

LetUsPrey · 11/07/2022 07:36

Morning wenches.

Hope MiniHelen got away okay and has a fantastic time. <side eyes> at MrHelen.

Another hot day ahead which will be spent melting in the office and hoping I can get one of the good parking spaces that’s in the shade by the afternoon.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/07/2022 10:02

Morning all. Sunrise was beautiful this morning - all misty and golden. As a result of breakfast at sunrise, I'm now having lunch Hmm

In other entirely unexpected news, it's hot and sunny, KillerKitty has been terrorising the local mice, and IntelligentCat things it's too hot for anything but flomping out.

I have loads of emails and must crack on.

Hope that everyone has a nice shady day out of the heat.

FancyFancy · 11/07/2022 14:44

Afternoon. Have spent the morning and lunchtime with a visiting friend - very pleasant but now need to walk into town <melts at the thought>

Hope you got a shady parking space letus
Are you on dinner yet helen?

ApricotCrush · 11/07/2022 17:18

Afternoon wenches. We're home, had a lovely time doing sod all really, but DH needed the rest after four months of his spare time being taken up with DS's log cabin. Misty was good on the way home and stalked round the house when we got back to check all was as she left it. She's been 'helping' me wrap some parcels this morning.

DD is still positive for Covid but feeling a bit better. Her DH has it now, but DGS is negative much to his annoyance as he fancied a few days off school. Hmm I did a food shop for them this morning and left it at the front door then beat a hasty retreat to the end of the drive to shout talk to DD.

Glad Fräsan has settled into her new home. Of course she owns it.

Hope ScaredyCat is alright, MiniHelen is enjoying his trip and LetUs managed to cope with the heat in the office.

FancyFancy · 11/07/2022 20:11

Misty sounds more awesome with every post!

I think you and MrA have earned the right to do sod all on your holiday apricot and yay for DD feeling a bit better.

LetUsPrey · 11/07/2022 21:21

Evening wenches.

Got rather stuffy in the office. Didn’t manage to get one of the premium shady parking spaces either. Managed to spend some time in the garden when I got home though.

Misty does sound super sweet and “helpful”. You and MrApricot definitely deserve all the rest you can get. Pleased your DD’s feeling a bit better.

IntelligentCat and I would get on well I feel.

Your morning and lunch sound lovely Fancy, melty walk not so much.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/07/2022 22:38

Evening all. DH and are are trying to find a last-minute mini-break. It is not going well. We did have a nice evening bike ride to the local nature reserve and saw birds splodging about.

Glad you had a good break Apricot (Can we come and stay at your caravan - just for one night. We could teleport there... Hmm <le sigh> ) LOL at Misty - she does sound fabulous.

Hurrah for morning walks and boo to stuffy offices.

<whisks all wenches off for a mini spa break where HBFs will attend our every need>

LetUsPrey · 12/07/2022 07:25

Morning wenches.

Bloody warm already but very cloudy.

Good luck organising mini-break Helen. Trying to sort our holiday here, not helped by DS1 not sure if he’ll come (I’d assumed he wouldn’t tbh) which affects accommodation in a big way. Also asking people any ideas what you’d like to do when we’re there. Blank looks doesn’t describe it. Am tempted to organise nothing and say my plans are to sit outside (if dry) with a book, you all crack on with your plans.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/07/2022 09:56

Morning all. Also hot and cloudy here. But we also have sun breaking through the clouds.

Mini break is subject to phone calls this morning - DH has only just got up. I'm starting to think along the lines of 'sod it, we'll just stay at home and go out for meals/outings.' And I'm very much of a mind with you re. Summer holiday LetUs - shall we just go away together and the man-shapes can sort themselves out?

ApricotCrush · 12/07/2022 17:25

Afternoon. Very warm and cloudy here too.

We lost Misty this morning. Shock. Searched the house, called her, not expecting her to reply as she’s not vocal at all. In the end DH found her in his wardrobe, he didn’t know she’d snuck in and shut the door on her. She was totally unfazed. Grin

Hope you’ve sorted your mini-break Helen and your holiday LetUs.

"We lost Misty this morning" 😱😭 <reads on..> Oh! Grin

We've had a nice day out at local National Trust easting a very mice lunch and then mooching. Tomorrow will will do another outing. Mini-break from home Grin

Swagger Inn 172. While we're waiting for the summer to kick in, we'll be dreaming of beaches with the HBFs...
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/07/2022 18:46

Hmm at typos. No mice were involved in 'easting' our lunch. I can't speak for KillerKitty though.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/07/2022 18:51

You almost gave me a heart attack Apes 😱😂

FancyFancy · 12/07/2022 19:47

Same here!

Misty does sound fabulous - true wench cat already 😁

Wench mini-break would be fab, actually any holiday without hard to please people incapable of finding out interesting things to do. Mind you, so far my input to my holiday with FancyMan and miniFancyMan so far is mostly agreeing dates & location, one hotel suggestion and insistence on an increased baggage allowance 😂In my favour I am not hard to please.......

FancyFancy · 12/07/2022 19:48

ScaredyCat update - acting more herself despite the heat, but I have not seen her eat anything today. Back to the vet tomorrow.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/07/2022 20:55

Everything crossed for ScaredyCat's 'round 2' at the vet.

LetUsPrey · 12/07/2022 21:09

Evening wenches.

Have just spent a rather relaxing hour or so outside in more or less peace with a jigsaw which was a good way to decompress (I think that’s what I mean) after today. Came home though to find that DS1 and his girlfriend had made dinner and it was delicious.

Oh Misty you cheeky cat! I imagine them laughing behind their paws when they do stuff like that. NiceColleague’s cat did similar recently. Couldn’t find her for ages and then finally found her hiding behind a storage box underneath a bed in the spare room. Was all “oh, were you looking for me?” as she strolled out.

That lunch does look delicious Helen. Pleased to hear no mice were harmed in a National Trust café Grin

Everything crossed for ScaredyCat tomorrow.

LetUsPrey · 13/07/2022 07:37

Morning wenches.

Cloudy and much cooler today. Very tired but stupidly stayed up late watching a film I’d seen before.

Good luck today Fancy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/07/2022 08:32

Morning. Blazing sunshine here, but a breezy, so although hot, it's not humid like yesterday. We even had a tiny bit of rain last night. StupidKitten is still rampaging and wanting to play/kill everything. I have trailed a shoelace about the house with me this morning, much to his delight. (He too has also done the vanishing trick in the past. Many moons ago Inconvenient cat got himself shut in the car, and had a lovely snooze overnight, and was similarly "Who? Me?" when we eventually found him.)

Today we hopefully have another day out - contents will depend on if there are spaces available on a guided tour thing. (Because we didn't do anything as sensible as try to book yesterday Hmm Idiot Us.) We have also considered taking selfies outside the cinema to sent to DS, who is still on his school trip (he's very keen to see the latest Thor film is on) but decided that would be too funny mean. Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/07/2022 10:23

Hope everything goes well today with ScaredyCat ❤️

FancyFancy · 13/07/2022 16:54

Such a considerate parent helen 😂

Technically it's round 4 at the vets 😫my wallet 😱she does seem more herself today, heat notwithstanding. Am now wondering if it's her teeth. She had an anti inflammatory jab and has eaten a little bit this afternoon. Suspect round 5 will be full anaesthetic and a dental exam <watches wallet scuttle off in fright>

ApricotCrush · 13/07/2022 17:15

Afternoon. Lovely day, very sunny and not too hot.

Sorry wenches, I could have picked better words. Bloody English language with its double meanings. Misty is fine, although she did it again last night. Followed DH into the dining room, he came out and shut the door not knowing she was in there. About an hour later she was found sitting on a chair looking at the door. They don't learn, do they? Hmm

How lovely to have a meal cooked for you LetUs.

Hope you had another lovely day Helen. We were going to do that some years ago. Both took a week's annual leave and I went to the Tourist place to get leaflets. First day a friend asked him to play golf. Second day he had to mow the lawns. In the end we did nothing, a completely wasted week. Confused

Hope the vet manages to find out what's wrong with ScaredyCat.

LetUsPrey · 13/07/2022 20:04

Evening wenches.

Sunny but windy so unable to jigsaw outside after work. How inconsiderate

Oh ScaredyCat if only you could talk and say what’s wrong.

And if they could talk, Misty would also be able to say “don’t shut the door, I’m still here”.

Hope you got your day out Helen and enjoyed the film.

I’m knitting again. Need to finish this project, then the next I have planned, and then I can properly start knitting baby stuff as we’ve had a pregnancy announcement in the family - older sister’s going to be a grandma Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/07/2022 20:21

I remember when my cat Corinne sneaked out the door at this new place I just moved to. I took me a while to realise that she was gone. I ran outside in the pouring rain, it was dark, and tried to find her. Went inside and started bawling my eyes out. I opened the door several times to see if she was outside and finally she just sauntered in, sat on the coffe table and started cleaning her fur like nothing had happened. Bloody cat Hmm
