Evening wenches.

I shall catch up properly tomorrow. Excellent evening with BestFriend. There was wine.

<faceplants in hayloft>

LetUsPrey · 12/11/2022 08:53

Morning wenches.

That’s an amazing topper! Some very talented crafters out there. I think they’d just get nicked round here sadly.

DH suggested cinema with DS2 to watch Wakanda Forever. Thing is DH as we know does like to comment and I’m not sure I can cope with muttered comments through the film, and he’s not a particular Marvel fan so not sure what we’ll do.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/11/2022 11:19

Morning all. We have sun! ShockShockShock Both cats are asleep and I'm watching little birds hopping about on the feeders - the peanuts seem to be taking a hammering just now - we saw a nuthatch on them a couple of days ago which was exciting from a middle-aged bird watching perspective.

Can you use DS2 as a buffer between you and DH at the cinema LetUs? Or would that just irritate DS2 as well?
at commenting people. (Ignores own habit of commenting at home.)

Also, (several re-starts uninstall/re-installs later) can you all remind me to not buy another HP laptop? this one's internet driver keeps crashing in the same way that my last laptop did, and a quick search online indicates that it's a known fault. FFS

Plus, a 'cat cafe review' for your entertainment Grin

Busy day here. Been looking at bed frames, I want to be able to sit up in bed and read. I want my bedroom to be like a cozy boudoir. I ordered one online so here's hoping it will work out well.

Glad you had a good time yesterday Letus 😀

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/11/2022 15:46

Read that some workplaces are starting to charge their employees for coffee, since it's so expensive nowadays, I mean, you can't do that to Swedes, we will riot! (Well not me, since I work from home and have to pay for my own coffee anyway).

ApricotCrush · 12/11/2022 17:54

Afternoon. Sunny day here too. We went up to the Crem this afternoon as it's my Mum's anniversary. Ten years, Shock where did that go?

One of the toppers got pinched here LetUs, what is wrong with people? Angry Glad you had a good evening.

Oh Helen, my PC's an HP, wonder if it has the same problem. Or had, because it's an ex-PC now. Sad

Loved the cat cafe video. So true!

New bed sounds lovely WW, hope it's what you want. We watched a programme about Ikea last night, very interesting.

Evening all.

It's a wireless connection that the driver crashes on *Apricot, so it depends if you're wired in or not. And if you're on a PC rather than a laptop then you're hopefully fine. It's just really irritating.

Today I have been digging up nettles and helping FriendWithNewHouse do decorating. Now we are slobbing on the sofa. DH has football on. <dislocates jaw from yawning>

LetUsPrey · 12/11/2022 18:53

Evening wenches.

Have spent today being tired and mostly useless.

Love the cat cafe review Grin

Good luck with the new bed Wicked. Shock at charging Swedes for their coffee at work.

<squidge> for crem visit Apricot. And FFS at topper being pinched.

Sounds a very busy and tiring day Helen. Get your feet up.

Might manage a cinema visit without DH. I think it would be best for everyone Grin

LetUsPrey · 13/11/2022 09:36

Morning wenches.

Had an early night last night with the aim of having more energy today. It was an interesting theory. At least I don’t think I’ll fall asleep mid afternoon like I did yesterday.

Usual today with added assistance to DS2 to help him get organised with revision.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/11/2022 12:31

Morning Afternoon all. I am meant to be doing house stuff, and have been mooching online writing letters instead. Will get my backside in gear now... though I have done the bins and there's a second load in the washing machine. The latter may be a pointless task, the first load is hanging outside looking damp and I don't think I'll even bother trying to hand the second load out.

ApricotCrush · 13/11/2022 17:36

Afternoon. Beautiful day, sunny and warm.

Me too Helen. I washed the bedding thinking it would dry but the sun doesnt reach the terrace now. I don't think I'll hang anything out again until spring.

We spent the afternoon clearing out DS's shed in our garden. He originally had it as storage for a previous job and it's now full of the children's old toys and DH's rubbish, sorry important stuff that won't go in his shed or the workshop. DS wants to use it again so guess who's got the job of selling the toys? I don't mind really. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 13/11/2022 18:45

Evening wenches.

Two loads out today which mostly dried eventually. Thank goodness one of my neighbours also sought to take advantage of the unseasonable temperatures and had a garden fire so the washing smelled when I brought it in. Arse.

Usual Sunday stuff including a meltdown from DS2 that wasn’t about his revision and mocks but was totally because of anxiety about his revision and mocks. Even though he denies any such anxiety or stress.

I initially read that as horse stuff Helen and was about to say hope you’d had a nice time but I checked before I typed.

You’re an actual Saint Apricot.

I’m watching programmes about Ancient Egypt and pointlessly thinking perhaps I should have worked harder at my A levels and gone to university and then I could have done more interesting things. Or developed time travel to experience what it was like in Victorian times to travel to Egypt and take part in the excavations.

FancyFancy · 13/11/2022 22:16

That is an amazing topper apricot Smile. Hope the visit to the crem went ok

I have also rather optimistically had washing out this weekend & also had some arse of a neighbour have a bonfire FFS.

I think there'd be riots here too if companies started charging for drinks ww. I'm salty that in our kitchen we're working through a fucking ginormous bag of Tetley tea bags that somehow appeared & they are so weak that calling them tea bags is an insult to tea <harrumphs>

DD was back for a couple of nights & we added a rewatch of S1 Episode 1 to our Friday night trash-tv-and-pink ritual. Marvellous fun and always worth seeing again just because Aramis is soooooo bloody gorgeous in it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/11/2022 22:40

Evening all.

<cwtch> for LetUs re. meltdown that absolutely isn't to do with stress and mocks < Hmm at DS>

My washing got mostly dry form being indoors and me having lit the woodburner. We also had a 'bonfire' nearby, though this was actually a haystack fire that required fire engines on and off all day Confused Sad. Fortunately there was so little wind that I didn't even get a whiff of it.

I think we just provide out own drinks at work. There may be a kitty, but since I don't drink it, I'm oblivious. It's certainly not provided though. I think the canteen used to be subsidised, but that another thing I don't use.

I'm in awe of your selling skills apricot I'm building up a pile of old clothes that need to be sent elsewhere, but I haven't got round to do anything about yet (other than make the pile).

We have been watching more SAS Rogue Heroes, and I'm being a cat bed.

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2022 07:40

Morning wenches.

Sorry Monday, nothing personal, but no thank you I don’t want to Monday today.

Excellent rewatch Fancy.

Eeek at haystack fire!

Seeing as Monday isn’t letting me ignore it, I shall have to get on.

Have a fabulous day of wenchiness.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/11/2022 08:03

Morning all. It's cold and misty here. The sky was grey with a hint of pink when I got up, which progressed to just grey, but has not gone all golden as the sun comes up. So it's quite scenic now.

DS has gone off to school in a bit of a grump because he took a charger* out with him yesterday and has managed to misplace it. The car has been checked several times, though I've just thought of his bag - which he should have looked in already, but his version of 'looking' usually involved peering into the top layer of crap important contents, and then giving up if it's not immediately visible Hmm

  • the electrical sort - he didn't go out on an armoured horse, though that's a very entertaining mental image Grin

Bleurgh to Monday. I have a very tedious project on the go now and will have to work hard not to do 'anything but' that project. Though if I end up tidying my desk instead of doing the work, that won't be an altogether bad thing!

ApricotCrush · 14/11/2022 16:35

Afternoon. Very miserable type of day. I went to town this morning to get various things, including Christmas cards. Couldn't see any I liked. I never used to have this problem. Hmm

Angry at bonfires. They're anti-social.

We've started watching The English on iPlayer. It's good, very atmospheric.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 14/11/2022 17:35

Afternoon, have had a low key day, quick walk with FancyMan and cleared a slow draining basin - the excitement! Washing is as wet as when I hung it out, maybe I should bring it in and put on another rewatch to raise the temperature? 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/11/2022 18:43

Shit. Washing.... back later...!

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2022 19:21

Evening wenches.

Careful Fancy, you don’t want the washing catching fire!

<cbf> at MiniHelen’s “really good look” Grin at the charger clarification.

I’ve recorded The English. Hopefully we’ll get round to watching it soon.

Need to wrap DS2’s birthday presents tonight just in case I don’t have enough paper (not that he’s got a mountain of gifts or anything, just a potential lack of paper).

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/11/2022 21:21

Evening all. Washing is hung up to dry, tea has been eaten, TV has been watched.

DS' charger has failed to turn up anywhere, so we'll have to get a replacement. And I didn't tidy the desk and trudged my way through work. Felt a bit meh all day, but have perked up now thanks to the magic of ibuprofen.

Glad to hear that your plumbing has been sorted Fancy <snerk> I'm sure that you could get Aramis to smoulder at the damp washing - as long as he doesn't incinerate it.

Happy wrapping LetUs

Must order that charger...

LetUsPrey · 15/11/2022 07:49

Morning wenches.

We need a new charger too, one of those than can do a few things at once.

It’s absolutely tipping it down here. Not relishing going out in it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/11/2022 07:52

Monring all. It's quite bright outside - lots of high cloud doing not much, and then lower clouds scudding across the sky at a pace, all livestock is fed and ow I'm mooching online, as per.

Today I have more tedious project, though it's less tedious now I've actually started it.

FancyFancy · 15/11/2022 09:52

morning
Out at a client's today - not a particularly nice commute on the motorway in the rain but at least everyone was driving sensibly.
