Hi I am a single mother of a 9 year old boy with JIA , I put in a change of circumstances to dla as he gets low care but this was awarded for his mental health before his diagnosis and change in care needs . I have been told my application must sit in queue for 17 weeks before it’s looked at . I have been doing some research online about this wait time and seem to find nothing . Would love some advise on other people currently waiting on a coc .

My MR only took 3 or 4 weeks for it to come back and they upheld there decision that was in march... they have now moved him from middle to high rate I said I should have had that since March she said if you had gone to a tribunal you probably would have won

Brilliant news @Lianney84 Atleast you don’t have to wait long again now as well don’t think I’d cope with another wait like this honestly. Well @Broden123 your only a day infront so hopefully you get an answer Monday or even better some money :) @Lianney84 let us know when it’s paid to you hopefully shouldn’t be too long good luck guys xx

Hello me again . Does any of you ladies get tax credits not uc . Ive updated them to that we have moved to high rate care from medium rate so obviously we move to the severe disability element now . Do you get a back pay on that from when your new award started or not? Xx

Ssabb90 · 05/12/2022 10:06

Hi no sorry I’m not, but I remember on the other forum somebody did get tax credit and had a back pay it was done really fast as well. They are quicker than UC apparently @Cass29.

anybody had any good news today? X

Cass29 · 05/12/2022 10:07

Thanks @Ssabb90 its been 2 weeks had no back pay or anything just wasn't sure if i was entitled to one xx

Ssabb90 · 05/12/2022 10:13

Yeh you should get a back pay and I’m sure they was doing them a lot quicker than that, I would give them a call asap xx

Broden123 · 05/12/2022 11:45

Ssabb90 · 05/12/2022 12:26

oh that’s bril @Broden123 so would you say yours is 23 weeks today then? That’s the time frame they must be working with x

Broden123 · 05/12/2022 12:38

Yes its been 23 weeks i think a few days over but its sorted now its been a horrible wait and thank you im just glad its finaly sorted

Angeldust12 · 05/12/2022 12:40

Not sure if it will apply to you but any change of circumstances on tax credits makes them move you onto universal credit that's what happened to me

Mkd1322 · 05/12/2022 12:48

I sent more evidence off the 25th of November, its still not been scanned onto the system. Do you think i should send it again? Xx

Ssabb90 · 05/12/2022 13:05

I always do it record delivery so not sure if that makes things faster especially with all the strikes so maybe try that this time if you haven’t already @Mkd1322 x

Mkd1322 · 05/12/2022 15:13

Ssabb90 · 05/12/2022 15:28

Ssabb90 · 06/12/2022 11:09

Mkd1322 · 06/12/2022 14:52
