Ciao - Everybody Welcome.

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 24/01/2008 21:05

does he pay with credit card on ebay? I've never bought on ebay, I feel like a 90 yr old who doesn't trust technology or modernity...

gio71 · 24/01/2008 21:10

thanks for the link Brangelina, never thoought of ebay it!
I used the UK one quite a bit, always with credit card, great for getting hold of rarieties. Only been let down once when the who bought my tickets to see Robbie Williams as I was in Italy as about to give birth didn't pay me in the end and left it too late for me to see to anyone else. Still 18 mths on

francagoestohollywood · 24/01/2008 21:13
Angry
gio71 · 24/01/2008 21:15

to sell to anyone else i meant, still too to type properly

Brangelina · 24/01/2008 21:16

YEs, credit card. You can get those carte ricaricabile so if someone hacks you don't lose a lot of money.

we use ebay a lot, DP buys from UK, France, Germany etc. and resells in Italy. I go on it for Mac stuff and baby bits and bobs, although I've only ever bought them from the UK. More selection, better prices, although there is the odd bargain to be had on the Italian one - I bought DD's nappies and paid 60 euros for a birth to potty pack plus newborn wraps. Only because the Italians aren't really into cloth, had it been the UK site I'd have been paying a lot more.

Brangelina · 24/01/2008 21:18

OMG, I know someone who really wanted to go the see Robbie but couldn't find a ticket! Not sure if she managed in the end, though. Was it a London date (if it's not too painful for you to talk about it).

I hope you left negative feedback?

francagoestohollywood · 24/01/2008 21:22

mmmm interesting, don't know why I've never felt attracted to ebay. but would love to get some film classici...
will go and read the guardian now, ciao

Brangelina · 24/01/2008 21:24

You know, I was surprised to read that the Mangiagalli was only practising up to 22 weeks, when I went to my talk about the CVS the primario was still talking about the 24 week cut off. Maybe he just hadn't been informed?.

Brangelina · 24/01/2008 21:27

I'm reading it online as we speak. I also have the Guardian crossword book so a relaxing evening ahead .

DP's gone out tonight to play his stupid computer games and I'm quite glad as we had pasta e fagioli for dinner. Hopefully he'll be sgonfiato when he returns ( sorry to lower the tone).

gio71 · 24/01/2008 21:33

Was Leeds and slated her in the feedback
Buonanotte tutte!

PippiCalzelunghe · 25/01/2008 07:59

buongiorno...what life and life, I was in bed at 9ish.

must go and read the news about the governmment !! here's a deja-vu about to happen me thinks!

do e-bay occasionally, bought very often and always met honest people. in the early days I even sent money in envelopes and got my books. couldn't fault it really. I think hhell does it. I'm selling a washing machine at the moment as we have 3! it'll probably go for a pittance.

not happy to part with 250 pounds for smth I should get as a routine tbh but then feel stupid to save on that and spend them on wood flooring ifswim...

PippiCalzelunghe · 25/01/2008 09:02

hhell are you going to see the new marc quinn exhib?

If I don't go today do you want to go together? might take dd too for a day out.

francagoestohollywood · 25/01/2008 18:13

I'm as they haven't been able to install the effing fastweb. We are moving tomorrow and I'll be mnless for god knows how long !
Plus, both my parents have succumbed to the evil influenza and poor things are piu' di la' che di qua. Just hope that the kids will be spared, but I am

hotHELL · 25/01/2008 20:06

Poor you Franca, what will you do without mumsnet???? Not watch telly I hope. You werre right bran i was in bed last night, earlier than pippi, i am ashamed to say, slept pretty much all day today too, just wake up for school run and to make meals, and about to go to bed again. To be honest I thought i had flu, but i think it is the pregnancy. I was feeling with more energy, only for a few days. Very little morning sickness, so there is hope...
Will Berlusca really come back? Wont your dh Franca find difficulties finding work with him around?
I would like to see the Marc Quinn Pippi if you havent' been.
Hope the Italian news are not depressing you too much..

hotHELL · 25/01/2008 20:22

I wanted to ask you is it ok to eat mozzarelle di bufala, giorgio locatelly was on the news here saying he would not eat them, because of the toxins from the burnt rubbish!

Brangelina · 25/01/2008 22:37

I must admit that I've been checking the origins of the verdura I buy lately. Apparently you've got to be careful about meat and dairy products because the dioxins released by people burning rubbish in the streets end up in the fatty tissue of the animals when they breathe it in, and this gets passed on to the milk. I don't know how true that is, they mentioned it on the tg but never said outright don't eat the mozzarella.

Poor Franca with no mn! When I got my broadband installed fastweb were the ones who took the longest (and cost the most but that was a couple of years ago now). You'll have to watch the telly or read some books. Got the sollecito for the canone Rai, I've never paid it but that was before I owned something. Do they ever come out to check?

PippiCalzelunghe · 26/01/2008 08:58

hhell I haven't been - had a nightmare day yesterday (DD falling and hurting her teeth, late for visiting nursery - 2 hours at hospital for anti-d etc etc).

I might go one day next week, possibly wednesday. let me know if you feel up for it. I haven't been into the west-end for ages.

francagoestohollywood · 26/01/2008 12:21

I am still at my parents, so checking in to say hello.
Thing is that they weren't able to find where to put the fibra ottica or whatever it is, so I was thinking of putting adsl...
your poor dd pippi , how is she doing today?
gosh you are salutista brangelina, I didn't even think about diossina etc... (lights up a ciggy ). Don't know what to do either re the canone rai. mind you rai3 remains one of the few remotely watchable channels, even if the best programmes are on at impossible times (they've been advertising some documentaries about megalopoli at 23.30, che cavolo!).
Hothell, god knows what will happen to dh, and have to say that even the prodi government didn't do much (o forse non ha proprio fatto nienete) to improve the state of our universities and invest money in research
However, the sky is blue and is quite mild...

Brangelina · 26/01/2008 14:29

Adsl is fine, we have libero and it's still fairly fast. Were you getting the whole package with TV and phone too?

Lol at me being salutista! Moi? .
I don't normally get sucked in by panic stories as such, it's just that all those constant images of rotting rubbish in the streets at Napoli is beginning to make me feel a bit schifata. Add to that the image of someone burning a pile of rubbish with a very toxic 1970s vinyl/PVC armchair and then the guy who wrote the book about the Camorra coming on TV to talk about the discariche abusive of toxic waste in the supposedly unspoilt campagna campana and it gets to you in the end. I try to tell myself not to be so silly, but then my eye strays to the label....

Pippi, how did your DD hurt her teeth? She didn't knock any out did she? Ouch, poor little thing. If it make you feel better I managed to elbow mine in the face yesterday morning and very nearly gave her a black eye.

Both DD and DP are asleep now (DP went out 2 nights ago and still hasn't recovered), the cats are miaowing because they're on a diet, the bathroom needs cleaning and I have tons of paperwork to tidy up, there is no more room on the kitchen table. I want to go out but am undecided where to. Ah, so many non problems....

Rosa · 27/01/2008 14:50

HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Here I am in the land of WIND and sabbia . Today we went for a walk and came back looking like Cotolette alla Milanese !

Weather has been a mixture we have mamanged the beach a few times , the pool but the wind is a bit strongDD has sunglasses ( Euro 30!!!!) she has really delicate eyes and she is enjoying herself. Have nearly caught up on lost sleep ish and have persuaded dh to try for No2 !!! But after a few glasses of local vino neither if us are in a fit state for anything ...we can just get dd to bed !
Had a quick glimpse at thread and can confirm vote for San Candido I liked look of teh hotel Franca said but it was closed when we went there. I also like San Martino di Castrozza ( but it is full of Venetians!)

hotHELL · 27/01/2008 15:32

Uhhh, so exciting rosa you are going to go for no2!!!! Having said that i am amazed by how awful i feel, the fatigue is incredible, spending most days in bed in deep sleep, i hope it stops soon, as life seems to have come to a standstill.

PippiCalzelunghe · 27/01/2008 17:06

Rosa we miss you too! I am a bit envious too of your tan!

Hhell first three months are awful!!! That's all I can say. They are enough to put me off having another one!!! will not be for long though...

hotHELL · 27/01/2008 20:48

you are right pippi, the idea of feeling like this again, no way to be honest i would have more kids, it is not human the way i feel. Night, night. (sleeping with a pan by my bed in case i have to be sick first thing in the morning)

Brangelina · 28/01/2008 09:57

Lucky Rosa and your tan. Is it really windy there at the moment? We nearly took off yesterday from the wind, we were at a ski resort and the wind was whipping up clouds of snow from the ground. I've got beautiful skin today from all that dermabrasion. DD wouldn't wear her sunglasses, how do you get yours to keep hers on?

Poor Hot with you feeling so bad. Was it like this for you the first time around? I don't remember being tired in the first trimester, all I remember is the all pervading feeling of nausea. How many weeks are you now? Did you get your CVS sorted out?

DD has got to dress up for carnevale on Friday and I have no idea what to dress her up as. Last year I put a floaty Indian skirt on her and drew a red dot on her forehead with felt tip pen but the nursery didn't understand and washed it off. Does anyone have any idea of something quick and easy that doesn't involve a trip to a centro commerciale or any sewing on my part? I can't do a mummia as it's too cold for bandages...

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/01/2008 10:49

pirate?

feel crap too - DD woke up in the night and it took an hour or more before she fell asleep again. I am a zombie today - god knows how I am going to cope with a newborn.
