ups, rosa I seem to remember that someone on mn told me taht the bbc.co.uk doesn't work if abroad... I haven't tried though.
I'm having an overdose of sky tv! I wathced the last 40 mins of nanny mc phee, it's fab!

Rosa · 24/03/2008 17:48

I will have a play with bbc when I get a sec. Yes dd is taller ( and heavier ) than average but both in proportion thank heavens. Made it to agritursimo and dd loved it and ate better than cugini ( proud mother here). Off to do nothing on the sofa !

My ds just got his first pair of size 24s the other day and he isn't 18 mth yet! The child is huge! In proportion like your DD Rosa and all solid, just a lot of him! DP is v tall though (and I am quite wide ) so guess he was never going to be petite.
We went to a trattoria to eat abbacchio at lunch. Dp was v cos I hadnt bought any but didnt realise it was part of my plan to do no cooking and to be taken to eat out

francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2008 12:10

24 at 18 months is pretty impressive !!!
and at the abbacchio... I'm a bit fed up with northern italy cuisine...
Is the weather better now Gio? Today is sunny in Milan and warmer than yesterday.
Brangelina must have made it to the agriturismo too...

Brangelina · 26/03/2008 13:04

Blimey, dd's growing out of 24 now, at 2.8. She is dinky, though, although her feet are actually disproportionally large when compared to the rest of her. Don't know where she gets it from, DP and I both have small feet.

Agriturismo was good, nothing hugely special as it was quite a small place but dd got to see lots of animals and play with my friends' kids. The meal was huge, I unfortunately didn't realise that there were 2 primi and 2 secondi so didn't pace myself at the 1st primo[hugely bloated emoticon].
There were also loads of pigs squeezed into tiny pens in this huge dark shed which I found a bit disturbing. Even DP, avid raw meat consumer that he is, was a bit disturbed. I'll turn him into a veggie yet, he's already drastically cut down his meat consumption at the mensa at work. The downside is he has upped his consumption of smelly seafood things sott'olio at home.

francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2008 13:10

all this talk about shoe size, and I have decided to take the dc to buy new spring shoes... activity that I'm obviously dreading as I find shoe shopping with children quite daunting...
I

Rosa · 26/03/2008 13:13

so Franca how much money did you spend in Petit Bateau ??
At the agriturismo we went to there was donkey ( limping) , 2 goats , a shetland ( cute ) and loads of chickens , ducks and a huge turkey ( not a relation of the one we were served however !!!)And LOL lots of cars were cleaned x la domenica we were in jeans ( ok clean smartish ones opposed to faded torn) but so many people were in giacca / cravatta, posh frocks. It was an agritursimo FGS. A cat walked over 5 cars ( and I watched it) leaving paw prints on black BMW etc. Chappie was so pissed off well it was in teh countryside !!

I need to buy dd some new shoes as I suspect her trainers are pinching. I've been putting it off for 3 weeks now....

Brangelina · 26/03/2008 13:16

Lol at Rosa's agriturismo di lusso! Ours was quite ruspante, thank goodness. There was 4 Shetland ponies, innumerable goats with newborn kids, chickens, geese and 2 calves kept in a shed. Alas no cats, oddly enough, aren't there always cats on a farm?

Rosa · 26/03/2008 13:22

Well we were the only ones in 'agritursimo' attire but our children ran on the grass fed the animals and parents went as well as we were not in high heels so we did not sink into the grass. DD came home filthy but happy!
SHoes don't tell me about it bye bye 50 Euro ..Make sure you measure as well and get enough growing room .

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2008 13:25

I spent 55 euros and got ds a nice pair of jeans, 2 vests, 1 long sleeved shirt and a cotton cardigan for dd...
Lol at the guy with the posh car.

Rosa · 26/03/2008 13:28

Foul day here rain and more rain ..Brang are in in shock after shoe shopping???

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 27/03/2008 13:25

Freezing wind here!
I bought one pair of shoes for dd and one for ds, I'm still having palpitations...

Brangelina · 27/03/2008 14:14

No, I haven't been yet, got waylaid by work yesterday afternoon. I'm going today though, there's a lovely pair of Naturino I saw in a catalogue so I hope the only shop in Monza that still stocks Naturino has got them in. But then I didn't see how much they cost, so it might be better if they don't have them in....

Is it really that cold today? I haven't put my nose out all day so don't know. Oh dear, I sent DD to nido in just a denim jacket as I'd washed her winter jacket and didn't want to get it dirty again. They probably think I'm a right weirdo English mum at nursery.

Am still despondent over the lack of school for DD. I almost feel like starting one up myself. Does anyone know what permessi you need for a scuola materna? Does anyone want to be a partner in this money spinning venture?

francagoestohollywood · 27/03/2008 16:11

lets say that I'd be cold if I wore a denim jacket today (this morning I was wearing my mezza stagione jacket and was cold), your dd is probably fine , she sounds stronger than me

I was really impressed by supermercato della scarpa yesterday

hotHELL · 28/03/2008 14:28

quick hello, my modem is very slow, as computer riddled with viruses, freezing here too, and raining, no snow.

Rosa · 29/03/2008 12:24

Warm here / lovely day think we might have to go for scarpe as well soon if it keeps like this. I like naturino as well . Hot are you keeping well ?

francagoestohollywood · 29/03/2008 16:06

which ones are you taking? gosh, it feels as if I was pregnant ages ago!
good, I hope this dr will turn out nicer than the previous one

Rosa · 29/03/2008 19:08

I was taking an English Pregnancy Care or something it had everything in . Now am taking Gynefam ferro. It seems to have a bit less percentages in and I have to take Acido folico a parte . But it has olio di pesce in - do not drink acqua gassata un ora dopo il ruto fa schiffo !!!!!
Remind me when I whinge about dh that he has been fantastic with doing things round the house and taking care of dd in my 'bad moments ' I hope it is only 12 weeks of this bit then I can enjoy it!!
