We had quite a downpour 😁so whatever the wenches did worked

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/06/2022 22:14

Evening all. We have had no rain, and I got very little gardening done. <le sigh>

LetUsPrey · 26/06/2022 10:12

Morning wenches.

Does anywench want the wind we have here? More than happy to send it on its way.

DH is very chatty today. Not sure I’m up for this level of conversation. Today will be baking, ironing and visiting.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/06/2022 11:32

Morning all. It was dead still and cloudless here first thing, but clouding over and windy by 9am. Good drying weather, not that I've put any washing on.
<adds the the list<nto>>
Today will be gardening, once I've eaten some toast. The manshapes are out, so no conversation is necessary, other than telling the cats how stupid they are. (Two mice got eaten earlier, and another hid in a shopping bag until DH rescued it. StupidKitten was oblivious to it's escape.)

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/06/2022 11:49

We have av heat wave here since the last few days, up to 30°C and it's supposed to continue. Glad I have a car with an AC nowadays.

I'm supposed to be packing so of course I'm on the couch watching The Walking Dead. On season two now. Really not a fan of zombies but there's a hottie in it with really nice biceps Grin wenchpriorities

Had a really nice Midsummers Eve, was invited to nice neighbours for dinner, smoked shrimps with aioli and garlic bread, lots of grilled stuff and strawberries with whipped cream with lemon curd in it. Yum!

ApricotCrush · 26/06/2022 16:54

Afternoon. Very windy here too. Also have no washing done.

I've been photographing a load of DD's clothes that she left here when she moved out sixteen years ago to see if I can sell them for her.

That's nice that you went to the nice neighbours for dinner WW. Jealous of your heatwave, we have sun but the wind is so cold.

LetUsPrey · 26/06/2022 19:22

Evening wenches.

That sounds such a lovely way to spend a day Wicked.

Still bloody windy here and not much sun to speak of. Bugger off wind, it’s nearly July.

Have baked, ironed, visited and knitted.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/06/2022 20:16

Evening all. Well done on all that activity <ntl> LetUs I have been very busy, and I shall relax in a bath tonight. Mostly I have been eating warm raspberries fresh off the bush working on the veg patch.

It's still sunny and windy, and (before my bath) I plan to put washing out soon, to be darked on. Grin

Those clothes will be 'vintage' now apricot - bonus!

Wicked - that sounds very civilised.

Hope that Fancy has had a good weekend and is feeling a bit chirpier.

LetUsPrey · 27/06/2022 07:38

Morning wenches.

It’s chucking it down because it’s June so what else would I expect.

Never mind because Wimbledon starts today! New balls please!

<admires Helen’s veg patch>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/06/2022 08:25

Morning all. My darked on washing is pretty much dry - no rain here.

Woe, though. Woe, and woe again. Something <side-eyes Killer Kitty> has crawled into the utility room and died. DH was complaining about the smell yesterday. I can smell it this morning, and <vom> Sad A quick scan shows nothing amis, so it's probably in an inaccessible corner behind the boiler and we're just going to have to boak live with the smell until it mummifies. <boak>

In other news, the veg patch is also decorated with flattened cardboard boxes (wed supressent/moisture retention) and the cherry tree is festooned with net curtains. We will win no prizes at Chelsea, but might get some actual fruit and veg.

Hope everywench has a good day and no-one melts/gets washed away.

FancyFancy · 27/06/2022 17:03

Had a bit of a lie in today - three days of lie-ins and I'm feeling human again.

FancyMan and I have been dodging the showers today, haven't seen each other for three weeks so it was nice to have a quiet day together.

That all sounds very civilised ww

<Passes clothes pegs to helen>

ApricotCrush · 27/06/2022 17:35

Afternoon. We had a downpour this morning which saved me watering the new plants, but otherwise quite a nice day.

Eeew at your unwanted visitor Helen. I love fresh raspberries, they always remind me of my mum and dad's garden when I was growing up.

DGS's karate class tonight, so DH gets fish and chips on the way home. Yay!

LetUsPrey · 27/06/2022 19:00

Evening wenches.

I delayed even walking to the car from the house this morning, the rain was that heavy. It’s perked up though through the afternoon.

<lights all the scented candles at Helen’s>
<hangs many bunches of lavender>

Hurrah for seeing FancyMan again and a quiet day.

Mmmmm fish and chips….

I’m watching the tennis and waiting for a wash to finish.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/06/2022 20:53

Evening all. It was baking hot so I put a load of bedding washing on. Then it started raining. <le sigh> Then it stopped, so I put one bit out, and got DS in the car for sports thing. Got a text 2 miles down the road to say it was cancelled due to rain. Got home, brought piece of washing back in as it started to rain again.
More investigations have failed to find the decaying thing. <boak> Thanks for the clothes pegs Fancy - dual purpose Grin Glad you're feeling a bit more human too. Hope you and FancyMan had fun dodging showers under the covers Wink
I should have an early night too, I'm still trying to catch up on sleep from the weekend. I'm having a run of waking at 5am every day. It's a bit tedious.
<pinches mouthful of crispy battered fish and chips?

LetUsPrey · 28/06/2022 07:38

Morning wenches.

That sounds a very disrupted pain in the arse day Helen. Hope you had a better sleep without such an early wake up.

We actually have sun here but still breezy. But no rain at least.

Can’t really be bothered on quite a few levels today but I suppose one must keep going.

<sidles into cupboard with a brew and a book>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/06/2022 08:14

Morning all. 3am, 4am... <le sigh>

Nice and sunny outside again. I should try and find some motivation.

<sidles into cupboard with duvet and pillow>

FancyFancy · 28/06/2022 13:14

<passes matchsticks>
<not all of them - uses several>

Was feeling awake earlier but am piritoned up again, so am suffereing a post lunch lull.

Nice to be back in the office again to see everyone, but have got used to no aircon, so am a little chilly!

Am envious of the fish & chips apricot

ApricotCrush · 28/06/2022 16:59

Afternoon. Very cloudy here and a very cold wind. Put a washload out and when I went back 3 of DH's shirts were on the terrace.

I've been preparing DD's old clothes for listing and I'm knackered. There's a bloody wardrobe full of them, and some need washing and mending. Still, I don't mind, gives me something to do.

Hope today has been less stressful Helen and LetUs managed to escape the cupboard.

I don't like aircon Fancy, it's always draughty.

Are you all ready for the move WW?

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/06/2022 17:13

Almost everything’s packed Apes. I also plan to de-cathair the couch so the poor movers don’t get an anaphylatic schock 😳

LetUsPrey · 28/06/2022 20:15

Evening wenches.

The sun gave up fairly quickly. Weather got progressively duller and we’ve had rain since 5pm. I have an outside gig to go to tomorrow so the weather had better be getting it out of its system.

Eeeek at the very windy conditions trying to steal the washing!

<restocks Tav antihistamine supplies>
<knits scarf for Fancy to combat aircon>

Did you find any motivation Helen? Was mine with it?

Well done on the packing Wicked. Grin at having to dehair the couch.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/06/2022 22:06

Evening all. Nope, no motivation found. In fact I may have lost what little I have. We have had sun all day though, so that was good (another load of washing went through the machine).
Other than that, a bit frustrating - lots of waiting about for other people to get back to me, and other people changing terms of reference and just dropping that into conversation. FFS.

Grin at the hairy couch wicked, and [eek] at the escaping washing Apricot (glad to say that mine stayed on the line)/ Are you still piritoned up for the bites Fancy ShockI hope the weather is ok tomorrow LetUs - I'm meant to be out too.

LetUsPrey · 29/06/2022 07:40

Morning wenches.

Already raining. Perhaps it’ll clear up for later, and for you too Helen.

DS2 already being fairly objectionable and I’m very much not in the mood for it.

Here’s to the rain clearing and happy days for wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/06/2022 07:55

It's morning, and there's high broken cloud, and I'm late. FML, etc.

Have a good day all.

FancyFancy · 29/06/2022 14:05

Bite seems a bit better thanks.

You are diligent ww <side-eyes cat hair-covered house>

I have some motivation - expect it to drop off in a post-lunch lull through.

<ignores work> Still ploughing through Santi-less Heroes, this chap is looking increasingly fine. And what's more he speaks fluent English, French, Spanish, Italian & Creole apparently - all the hot languages <drools>

Swagger Inn 171. Spring is just around the corner, but the HBFs still need their overcoats to keep us warm.
ApricotCrush · 29/06/2022 17:30

Afternoon. Cloudy and showery here. The garden likes it. Hmm

DGS has gone on an outdoor education thingy trip. First time he's been away from home by himself. Shock

Grin at the cat-hair. It's getting a bit like that here.

I sort of recognise your chap from something Fancy.

Hope the weather keeps fine for Helen and LetUs.
