Busy again at work and NiceColleague’s off tomorrow so I could do with a good night, which means I’ll stay up again till a silly time, won’t be able to sleep for ages and wil wake up again in the night.

It was sunny when I woke up. Clouded over now but is forecast to be very warm. You can all look forward to me complaining that it’s too hot

Working at home today - fortunately there is a breeze today as I think otherwise I would be roasting, whereas it's quite manageable at the moment. Glad to be working at home as, oh dear god I'm itchy. Even having taken piriton my shoulder & upper arm is swollen and radiating heat.

Afternoon. Very hot all day here, two washloads done and no distubances from noisy neighbours which is a miracle. As you say Fancy the breeze made it bearable but I'm not complaining, we don't get much of this. Those bites sound nasty, hope the piriton works soon.

Barely stopped at work today but we are now at right side of Friday so hurrah! And DS1 is home so double hurrah!

Weather was lovely whilst I was in the office, clouded over and cooled down when I left.

Evening all. Fun has been had, along with pizza, drinks, innuendos and inappropriate jokes. It's been hot here all day - walking out of the office was like the moment you step off a plane on holiday somewhere hot. (After work drinks were outside but in the shade, so it was bearable.)

Cooler & windier here & even a brief shower. Piriton seems to be helping with the bites thanks, less swelling today. Am resisting the temptation to scratch as similar to you letus I've needed antibiotics before - 2 out of the last 3 summers in fact.

Not much else to report, have been mostly working & then ploughing through Heroes in the evenings. Junkie Santi was killed off in the last series & seems to be one of the few 'bigger' characters that didn't get somehow resurrected or featured in a time travelling scene, so the faf has gone. Zachary Quinto looks hot at times especially with his shirt off but seems to be channeling an Austin Powers baddie when he's plotting evil - hammier than Peppa Pig.

Afternoon. It's been chucking it down all day here. So much for summer.

I've been going through photographs this afternoon, actual prints. They're in piles all over the house and I want to thin them out, throw away any duplicates, views which could be anywhere and pics of random animals which don't mean anything and get them all in one place. Bigger job than I thought.

My mosquito bites from a holiday in the late 90s are a thing of legend (sort of) in our family. They swelled up rather astonishingly and went a funny colour. Ended up in A+E with those ones.

Zachary Quinto was quite hot as Spock too if I recall correctly.

Our forecast rain never arrived. I should do the same with our photos Apricot - it’s a good idea.

Tonight I plan to not do very much at all.

Also me: finds that selected pillow is out of stock at shop, panics and buys random pillow off the shelf with no idea of reviews

I also need new glasses with proper prescription lenses rather than bog standard reading glasses. I dread to think how long it will take choose frames that I like

Pillow selection bit of a minefield here too. It’d be fantastic if the one you randomly bought was the best pillow ever for you. Choosing frames also a nightmare.

Lots to do here as we have Father’s Day and a birthday on the same day. DS1 wants a lift to his girlfriend’s later and I’m supposed to be out tonight. This explains why I’m still in my dressing gown and haven’t done much of anything.

Morning all. Lots of rain and thunder last night - it must have been a corker of a storm, the way the sky was lighting up, but we barely heard any actual rumbles. I counted to 6 miles away at one point, then just went to sleep. It rained for ages too, but only actually 2mm.

Neck is a bit stiff this morning. I have just looked up my impulse buy pillow online. It provides 'firm' support. The one thing the physio told me NOT to buy was a pillow with 'firm' support. FML. Anyone want a pillow? used once?

Good luck with the photo sorting Apricot - We have that problem with digital photos. We take so many, because we can and rarely do anything with them. I do have fun scrolling though them on the computer sometimes, usually looking for a picture that I know we have, and can't find

Hope that Fancy's insect bites are ok (I acquired one overnight on my backside - bloody mozzies) and that LetUs has a fun night out and Wicked's packing is going well.

Evening wenches. We’ve been to a family Fathers’ Day BBQ at DS’s which was very enjoyable.

Pillows are a nightmare literally. The polyester ones give me a headache so I have to have feather, but the ones I’ve bought recently are all crunchy and the feathers stick into you.

Hope the bites are improving and LetUs is enjoying her night out.

Back at the place I stayed in last week for a further 3 nights, drove up through some rain so I hope that was on its way south to my garden.

Ah yes letus, mozzies on holiday - spent a kid-free holiday years ago when the DC were small having to go to bed every night slathered in mozzy repellent. What a passion killer.

I went to a funeral this morning, the last of my Dad's side. Eight of my cousins were there out of 18 originally on that side. Some have died, some couldn't make it, some we have no idea where they are. We only meet up at funerals. It's strange having a shared childhood but rarely seeing them since, although once you've sorted out who they are you have a natural affinity with them.

<squidge> Apricot. I only have three cousins. Haven’t seen them for ages and not overly bothered. The DC are close to their cousins though so perhaps it skips a generation.

Work was as awful as usual and I’m absolutely shattered. Staying up till after midnight probably hasn’t helped. I definitely need an early night.

Afternoon all. I see we're allowed to post again. I can't remember what I typed in this morning and couldn't post - suffice to say, it's hot and sunny outside. I have just had a 2-minute lie-down outside on the lawn, basking in the sun, and am now back indoor at the computer and eacting lunch.

This morning we had shenanigans over a school event which I'd forgotten about, then thought that DS said it was today 😱 but turns out it's Thursday so that's ok.

Also and it's odd how families drift apart. One of my cousins has gone no contact with the entire extended family because she had some sort of falling out with her father which seems like a bit of an overraction, but ho hum.

Afternoon. Lovely day again, I've been outside for a while, but we've got DGS here now.

Has MN been down? I clearly haven't been on it much.

I only have 3 cousins on my mum's side, in spite of her parents having 8 children, the same as my dad's side. Four male and four female in both, all gone now. I have no contact with those cousins either, for no particular reason, in fact I don't think I've ever met the one, even as a child.
