Morning wenches.

Wind can fuck off.

Ah yes, the why didn’t I go for that wee first before I got stuck on the phone feeling.

at dwarf hair Hobbit film survival rate Grin

It’s rainy but wind has dropped a bit. We’re not near the worst of it either but it’s more than enough. Checked last night and tomorrow’s gales had gone. Checked this morning and they’re back. Arse.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/02/2022 08:30

Morning, we also seem to be unscathed after last night's winds. It's still quite blowy now, but not as bad as last night in the dark. Not that I've left the garden to see if the roads blocked by bits of tree. We also have nice sunshine and clear skies, so that's nice.

at banks cutting off phone calls. Bastards.

Todays plans are... um. Work. Painting (yes, still) and that's about it.

ApricotCrush · 17/02/2022 17:00

Afternoon. I was going to Lidl tomorrow morning but looking at the forecast I went this afternoon instead.

Grin at the dwarves. Eeeeek at mouse.

A new season of The Last Kingdom starts on 9th March so I suggested we watch the previous season again as we can’t remember what happened. Grin

Evening wenches.

Today has been what I can only describe as an absolute shithole of a day.

Good idea re moving the shopping forward Apricot.

I’ve spoken with DS1 and he doesn’t have any in person lectures tomorrow so he doesn’t need to go anywhere. The worst winds here are due just as the schools come out.

Hope today’s painting went well Helen.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/02/2022 20:38

Painting. Yes... um. Nope. No painting done. I need to get my painting mojo back on. In my defence, we did need a food shop done though.

Work happened too. Though it didn't feel very productive.

It was dead calm outside earlier. I'm not sure when the wind is due to hit here. Glad to hear that DS1 can lie low LetUs.

LetUsPrey · 18/02/2022 07:37

Morning wenches.

Very much the calm before the storm here. Hope everywench is safely battened down

Friday though so hurrah for that!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/02/2022 08:44

Morning all. Windy here - I have been battening what's battenable and Stupid Kitten has been behaving like a loon.

WorkyMcWorkface today - I have designated today a training day at BoringOfficeJob so I can catch up on all the online training bits and bobs that need to be done and checked off. It may well also be a hot chocolate and red bull day, since I was still awake at 1am because of no reason other than I wasn't asleep.

Happy Friday all

FancyFancy · 18/02/2022 12:41

Morning. Rather erm blowy here. ScaredyCat did actually go outside for a bit which was unexpected, but not for long and had since been inside cuddling me. Was hoping to get to the bank later, but that's not looking very appealing at the moment....

FancyFancy · 18/02/2022 14:25

Haven't watched any of the winter Olympics so far but have just turned on the TV in the middle of a tense looking women's curling match between GB and Sweden....

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/02/2022 15:07

Hurrah for Curling!

ApricotCrush · 18/02/2022 17:09

Afternoon wenches.

Well, DH brought the outside furniture and storage boxes inside, but honestly it wasn't necessary. It was very windy, but it's dropped now and the sun is out.

I've been watching the planes land, or not, at Heathrow on YouTube. Shock Glad I'm not on a plane today.

Hope everyone's had a good day and managed to do what they planned.

Evening wenches.

What a breezy day. Also hail and rain. Car got blown about a bit on the way home which wasn’t super fun but the wind’s dropped for now. Unfortunately the tree in our front garden got a bit tired and is having a lie down.

Followed the curling online. DS2 got home just in time to see the final shots so he was very pleased with that.

Tonight’s plan is bath’n’book’n’bed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/02/2022 19:41

Evening all. I feel like joining your tree LetUs - what a shame though Sad Hope there wasn't any collateral damage?

Apricot - I watched some of that too Shock I would not have wanted to be in a plane today. I think a lot of flights got diverted as
well. I think the pilot and cabin crew earned their keeps today.

Still very windy here.

Anyway, yay for Friday. Not that I have the energy to do anything other than slump on the sofa and look knackered Confused Rock'n'Roll'n'Snoozing...

FancyFancy · 18/02/2022 21:05

Things have died down here too, lots of trees down locally, feeling relieved the house and garden are ok.

Is there much damage Letus?

LetUsPrey · 18/02/2022 21:42

It missed the small garden walls front and side so they’re fine. I think I heard birds tweeting away it in over the last few days though so I’m more worried about them.

Pleased wenches are all okay.

I’ve done bath’n’book. I shall finish my drink and do the bed thing. This is my rocknroll Friday night.

LetUsPrey · 19/02/2022 08:52

Morning wenches.

DS2 was up early to watch the curling. It’s very tense.

I should crack on with the usual Saturday activities.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/02/2022 13:05

Afternoon wenches. Boo to the curling result (or 'Yay' on Wicked's behalf). At least it's a medal?

I am about to go out and talk to our gurgling drains, and start retrieving one of our trees from next door, where it is having a little lie-down Sad It was a Buddleja so I've already taken cuttings - fingers crossed for lots of little babies. Washing is also on, due to DS' nosebleed in the middle of the night Confused

My favourite storm story is the family whose house was partially demolished by a falling tree, and took them selves off to the pub to recover Grin
"...the tree smashed through several rooms, causing extensive damage to the property on Friday morning.
After shedding a few tears, Mr Good said, the family "did the very British thing and went to the pub"."

(No-one was hurt, or it wouldn't be a good story!)

FancyFancy · 19/02/2022 16:28

Afternoon
I have not ventured out today - still rather windy and there is added rain. Better to stay indoors and keep myself warm I think, this will not be hard....

ApricotCrush · 19/02/2022 17:15

Afternoon. Chucked it down all morning, but it's brightened up a bit this afternoon.

Yet another car is in the ford up the road. There are warning signs and depth gauges on both sides but it happens every time we have rain. I think a local house has a contract with our evening paper as there are always pictures. DH didn't do it once, no definitely not.

Sad about LetUs and Helen's trees.

Oh dear, poor family, but that's the only thing you can do really.

LetUsPrey · 19/02/2022 19:32

Evening wenches.

Yes, well done to the Swedes earlier today. Been doing jolly well overall!

I saw that Helen. We had a bit of a cry and then went to the pub. Sums up my life at the minute - bit of a cry and then have a drink Grin

Fancy at “this will not be hard”. You fibber Grin

Hope MiniHelen’s okay. DS2’s nosebleeds seem to have stopped.

Eeeek at car getting stuck in the ford Apricot!

Mostly knitting today as this project’s taking longer than I thought.
