Morning all. Mega-lie in today - I kept waking up and then rolling over again until just gone noon Shock currently cooking pancakes with CuteKitten tucked inside my (double-knotted) dressing down. Though I've just ditched him because he was trying to investigate the remains of DH/DS's fried breakfast. Cooking just got easier!
Also have washing in the machine and I have to shift some furniture about to get some painting done.

ApricotCrush · 26/02/2022 16:40

Afternoon wenches.

Sadly the quiz didn't go well. It was mega hard, and we were up against teams who go to pub quizzes every week. Sad We had a good laugh though, so it was all good fun.

That's great that they're getting on with the cottage WW.

Shame about DS2 LetUs. Really don't know what the answer is much like the quiz.

Helen, hopefully in May, depends on the septic tank thingy.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/02/2022 17:40

So Russia threatened Sweden, feels comforting Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/02/2022 19:26

Boo to difficult quizzes.

I moved furniture about and hoovered, and then bent down to shift a box sideways, and my back went 'ping' FML Sad So I sat on the sofa with a heat-pack on my back for a while and then did some painting. And now I'm sitting down again and my back hurts. I shall stick it in a hot bath (and have HBFs on hand to winch me out again!)

LetUsPrey · 26/02/2022 19:28

Evening wenches.

Oh crikey Wicked. Nothing helpful but

Mmmm pancakes Helen. If I promise not to snuggle, can I have one. Or if I promise I will Grin

Bad luck with the quiz Apricot, although your comment about the answers and DS2 did make me Grin

I’ve baked and knitted and visited parents and knitted. And now I’m drinking raspberry vodka.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/02/2022 08:11

Morning all. Gloriously sunny again here. I'm currently eating half a grapefruit and will cook up the rest of the pancake batter later (and lob pancakes around the tav.)

My back is 'ouch' but I'm not immobile, so it could be worse. I think I'll be hitting the ibuprofen shortly.

LetUsPrey · 27/02/2022 09:28

Morning wenches.

Poorest you Helen with your back Sad. Keep pottering about but don’t overdo anything (unless it’s an HBF)

The washing machine is beeping at me. I should see to it.

ApricotCrush · 27/02/2022 16:54

Afternoon. Lovely day here, it feels very springlike. Smile Should have done a washload but didn't. Hmm

Hope your back's improving Helen.

Evening wenches.

Have spent much of the day knitting. Did some ironing too. Weather’s been lovely here too. I contemplated putting the wash on the line but decided —I couldn’t be bothered— it wouldn’t really dry because it was still quite cold.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/02/2022 21:44

Evening. My back doesn't feel too bad, but I'll take all the sympathy (and HBFs) thank you Grin I've also had a beeping washing machine today, and done some painting and a gentle walk. And a fair bit of sitting down and snarling at the news via Twitter ( for Wicked re stupid posturing from Putin.>

Weather's been lovely though, a bit chilly but Spring definitely seems closer - snowdrops, lungwort, mini-daffodils, etc. Even the forsythia is thinking about flowering. Hurrah!

Also, I didn't get round to making pancakes, so that means I can have them tomorrow!

FancyFancy · 27/02/2022 21:56

Bad backs, people-who-take-pub-quizzes-too-seriously and Putin can all fuck right off frankly. FFS, first weekend I've not felt I needed to do any work and that bellend kills my mood Angry

On the bright side I pottered in the garden and it was so warm on the patio I nearly took my cardigan off, and DS has just treated me to dinner for my birthday. Restaurant is unashamedly 80's-tastic even down to the music Grin

come and live here, although I fear FancyCat and Frasan would instigate WW3 Confused

FancyFancy · 27/02/2022 21:58

cwtches FFS.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/02/2022 23:07

[horror] Can you imagine the carnage?! The hissing, the spitting, the growling... the all out fights.

Cake for Fancy, ready for breakfast tomorrow. Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/02/2022 07:41

Morning all. It's lovely and sunny again out there (Fancy has clearly been a good girl this year - the HBFs agree) with a few frosty patches on the grass (that bit has nothing to do with Fancy, though she has an impressing when needed.

I think my back is still improving, and another day of working and painting beckons. Have a good day all.

Morning wenches.

We have rain here. All of it.

Love the birthday bunting! Also love the sound of an 80’s restaurant. Happiest of birthdays Fancy 🎂

Here’s to your back continuing to improve Helen.

CarlaH · 28/02/2022 08:08

What does HBF stand for please?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/02/2022 09:50

I would love to stay at ChateuFancy Smile Although you’re probably right about the TavCats Grin

My internet is so slow I can’t work. But I’m not the only one. Glad I worked extra yesterday.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/02/2022 09:50

Have fun at the restaurant Fancy, sounds fantastic Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/02/2022 09:51

Glad you’re back is improving Helen Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/02/2022 10:59

@CarlaH Welcome!!! (New blood in the Tav- whoop!) Pull up a bar stool, sit down, grab a drink-of-your-choice.
HBF = HotBeardyFucker (though the beards are optional to be honest) like these.
Please list them in order of preference, or submit your alternatives for perving purposes assessment.
Also, if you're not sure which order to choose, then all three series are back on iplayer at www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b04ww8fq/the-musketeers so you can research thoroughly.
(PS - access to Aramis is via a polite queue/rota system; Athos is at the bottom of a scrum involving very pointy elbows.)

In other news, FML. Someone has cocked up their procurement processes and got me to do work before getting me onto their system as a supplier. So far, their 'onboarding' system is going to cost me more in time to set up than I charged them for the actual work.

Plus, one more coat of paint is done. (And more fecking brown spots showing through from... mould? damp? oil? We have a barrier spray for them though. Ha! That'll teach them.)

Thanks very much for the answer. Sadly I don't care for beards but am just extremely nosy.

ApricotCrush · 28/02/2022 16:39

Afternoon. You don't have all the rain LetUs, there's plenty of it here.

We didn't do the school walk today because of rain. DGS is currently downstairs with DH practising for his karate class later. I'm a bit worried about the ornaments. Hmm

Welcome CarlaH.

Happy Birthday Fancy, hope you're having a good day. Cake Wine

Thanks wenches, dinner last night was fab

Hello CarlaH - beards aren't compulsory, especially for team Aramis - we pride ourselves on the diversity and breadth of our tastes. In other words, a bit like Aramis himself the man tart

Have spent the day at FancyMan's being looked after , now home and contemplating an evening of spending birthday money. I may watch some more Homeland, but frankly it's all feeling a bit real atm Shock

LetUsPrey · 28/02/2022 19:28

Evening wenches.

Good (or not?) that the rain wasn’t selfish Apricot and decided to share itself with you.

What’s the spray please Helen and does it work? We have spots keep coming through the wall in DS2’s room.

Oh no Wicked at being unable to work today. Hope you found something productive to do Grin

We just watched the Death in Paradise episode again with your man in it Fancy - FAF ZAF.

Feeling quite blah so I think I could do with an early night.
