It is half term here. Road’s closed in one direction only so there’s a diversion on the way home.

DS2 had a huge lie in and only got up as I was leaving for work which is excellent. Not so excellent was a text from him on my way in, then several more in the next hour and a half, all about homework. It should be noted that DH was at home with him the whole time

Evening all. We actually had really nice weather, despite a comedy catalogue of barriers on route - stuck behind tractors, rain, road closures Washing got done here, and rained on, but that's fine because it's been left out for a sun/rain bleach job for a few days.

What is it with roads at the moment? The lights at one of the new junctions on my commute were out last week and today there was a road closure on the way back from NextDoorTown while the police removed a car from the hedge. Still, that spared me from the temporary traffic lights further up that road. I say temporary, but they are scheduled to be there, on a main road with two schools on it, for about 9 months. Local people have remarked that they would need to be there for a fraction of the time IF THERE WERE ANY FUCKING PEOPLE DOING ANY FUCKING WORK THERE.

9 month is ridiculous for 'temporary' roadworks. And I can confirm they are a pain in the arse. Yesterday was obviously a day for 'cars in hedges' then.

We watched a Mark Kermode programme last night about spy films and tropes and stuff. It was quite good. Then I had a dream about big political gathering on top of a mountain, and the Queen being assassinated WTF subconscious? Why don't you take the hint when I watch HBFs on screen? FFS...

I thought it was half term - so why all the cars on my commute? Although that may be because apparently the local train route is going to be utter shite this week due to lack of drivers - we have sky high covid rates round here at the moment.

urgh. morning all. Bloody KillerKitten kept me awake until 1am, he kept brining mice in for a house party. I should have just shut him in I suppose, or locked him out. On the plus side I slept in until 8am.

FFS re chatterbox DH's - it's lovely that they want to tell us stuff, but -all things in moderation, and maybe they could choose topics that are interesting, (i.e. not that amazing goal that was just scored)

Sympathies about chatty DHs, I get the same. I'm really not interested in Rory McIlroy or Ole Gunnar Whatsisname, but if I complain he says that he listens when I'm talking rubbish about stuff I've read on MN, so I can't really win.

I think he must be getting better because he's hoovering out of boredom.

We've been watching The Haunting of Bly Manor which was pretty terrifying but we've given up on it because it just got stupid.

I agree about The Haunting of Bly Manor Apes, The Haunting of Hill House by the same director is so much better!

Evening wenches. That’s it exactly with DH/DPs. Choose stuff that’s interesting to not just them. I was in the bath the other evening and he kept coming in to tell me “interesting” things or show me a funny meme. I was trying to read so offered to start telling him all about Medusa or Medea or Penelope. He practically ran downstairs. Although I wouldn’t mind a conversation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer because I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for him.

I had a random dream as well - popped in to see Ade Edmondson with my mother. Okaaaaayyyyy.... I can't remember what dream logic led us there, but he was very nice and polite. He signed some stuff for us. Why couldn't we have popped in to see some FAF?!

I have another new old phone - DS' was too old to take the NHS app which, apparently I need if I want to go out this weekend. So now I have DH's old phone and today has involved lots of swearing while I try to work out how to use his old phone, and strip out all his data, because he set it up for me without doing a factory re-set. It's not that I'm not grateful and all, but I'm a grumpy ungrateful madam.

No rain to speak of here and it was quite a pretty sunrise - all pink. It's dull/cloudy/windy/a bit damp now though.

Yikes to another new phone helen, I sympathise, it just feels like another load of admin.

Am expecting an old friend to be visiting tomorrow, so I should probably make the bed up this evening. But I may just watch trashy tv & drink pink fizz instead....
