Swagger Inn 170. Autumn is here with a vengeance. I think we'll just hide under the duvet --with HBFs-- until Spring.

Ah - so this is what I didn't his 'post' om last night...

Evening wenches. I have been watching Cap America Civil War with DS. I even shut my laptop. #DedicatedParenting. Grin

It's dead windy outside, but also warm. Most odd. But I've brought the washing in before rain happens again.

Sympathies re. the road closure Apricot. Diversions are a pain in the arse, and even worse when no-one is working on the problem.

-----

This morning it is peeing down and I've realised at 5am that I'm meant to be in the actual office today.

FancyFancy · 20/10/2021 12:16

Keeps pissing down here too and it is very windy, but at least I stayed dry getting to work Smile

ApricotCrush · 20/10/2021 16:43

Afternoon. April showers in October here. Very strange. Confused

I went to Dunelm this morning just for something to do. Didn't buy anything, but I do enjoy looking around there.

Nothing else going on. Hope everyone's had a good day.

Evening all. I'm hooome. It has been doing sunshine/downpour thing all day here. Though we managed to stay dry when we went out for lunch. It was also very lovely to see all my lovely colleagues again, in the flesh clothes, and not on a screen. We have all decided on our 'in the office' schedules, so I am fully expecting the entire country to go into lockdown imminently and we will be locked out of the office again. Hmm

I also came home to a planned power cut notice, so the above cunningly-planned work schedule is about to be messed up.

Hope that the dentist went well LetUs, and that DS2 got a grip. (Maybe you should show him that thread about teenager and all the parents laughing/rolling their eyes at the histrionics?)

And, in very exciting news.... I (haven't found my phone) have got the replacement SIM and am charging up DS' old phone. Really, I should have done that a few days ago so it was ready to go.

I love Dunelm - it's a bit like Lakeland - full of things that you want but don't really need Grin

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2021 19:24

Evening wenches.

Some stellar parenting there Helen Grin How lovely to —want to— see your colleagues in person again!

Mostly rain today. Dentist was fine with nothing needed. I’d say I’m at the end of my tether with DS2’s morning attitude, but even the tether is long gone. Watched some Poirot, started a jigsaw.

If you stayed dry Fancy, you won’t be needing a towel Wink

Wish we had a Dunelm a bit closer to us. Everyone I know who goes to them absolutely loves them.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/10/2021 19:40

Oooh nice!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/10/2021 19:59

Something similar in Sweden, MIO.

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2021 22:05

Oooo I like the look of that Wicked!

We should be watching Shetland. However it wasn’t set to record, even though I was sure I had.

FancyFancy · 20/10/2021 23:20

No-one will be needing a towel. Especially not AT Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2021 07:28

Morning all.

Where have all the towels gone?! Shock most inconvenient... Grin

It's grey and damp here, but I don't think it's actively raining. Suspect the chickens will still be inside though.

I got a couple of books out of the library about 'being/parenting a teenager' in the deluded hope that I'll read them and suddenly DS won't be able to push my buttons so effectively. Not that I've read them yet, but I figured it was worth a try.

LetUsPrey · 21/10/2021 07:46

Morning wenches.

If nothing else Helen, you can bang your head against the books in frustration.

Bloody cold here, but not raining I don’t think.

I’ll er… I’ll check the Tav airing cupboard for towels. Might be a while.

FancyFancy · 21/10/2021 08:36

Not actually raining here either. Yet.

Have some rather complicated (for me) tax shit to deal with today. Think I will need to plug in headphones to drown out the people chatting as I construct ColourfulSpreadsheetOfConfusion which I hope will shed some light.......

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2021 09:10

ColourfulSpreadsheetOfConfusion - I have MANY of those Grin

Also, I lied. It was raining. I emptied out 3cm from the rain gauge for the past 3 days on my way back from the chickens. It's still raining now.

ApricotCrush · 21/10/2021 18:08

Evening. Lovely sunny day here, though a bit nippy.

That looks a lovely shop WW.

We watched Shetland, but unfortuately DH fell asleep, so we might have to watch again. Grin

Lol at ColourfulSpreadsheetOfConfusion.

I don't think there were any books about parenting a teenager when ours were that age, but we muddled through. Hmm

Evening wenches.

Bloody cold here today. Work is a steaming pile of shite and I hate it.

Hope the spreadsheet was colourful enough to either solve the confusion Fancy or was so colourful no one cares how confusing it was.

Ooo at rain gauge update! Not had one of those for a little while.

What a disaster that you’ll have to watch Shetland again Apricot.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2021 22:08

Oh LetUs Sad I wish we could sort out your WorkTwats for you Sad

LetUsPrey · 21/10/2021 22:31

Thanks Helen. Seems that the number of okay days to meh days to shit days is heavier on the shit days recently.

We’re watching Shetland. The scenes with Jimmy’s dad are absolutely heartbreaking.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/10/2021 06:58

Should I send Fräsan over to deal with the morons at your office Letus?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/10/2021 07:25

Morning all. It's mostly clear outside and the clouds that are in the east are a delicate shade of peach. (Wenches approve of peaches - fact.)
(I must move the images onto this laptop)

I'd rather be asleep in bed though...

Here's hoping that today's not so shit for LetUs , that Fancy's ColourfulSpreadsheetOfConfusion has identified the problem, and Apricot's* diversion at least has people working on the problem, even if they haven't fixed it.

LetUsPrey · 22/10/2021 07:35

Morning wenches.

Yes please Wicked. In fact, let’s set all the TavCats on them.

Is Friday anyway so almost the weekend and with it being half term, hopefully there’s not as much pressure with homework over the weekend.

nope, not seen her

ApricotCrush · 22/10/2021 17:10

Afternoon. Reasonable day here, no rain.

DH has injured his shoulder and doesn't know how, so no golf. Sad

His new credit card has arrived, and by coincidence I've had a new one too, as mine expires at the end of the month. I'm terrified one of us will cut the wrong one up. Hmm

Still no work going on up the road. Angry

Evening wenches.

Today took an unexpected turn just before 8 when a text and then email came through from school saying unexpected staff absences meant Y10 to stay at home and do remote learning. There followed much stress because this has been done in different ways and, despite me trying to reassure DS2 that we’d figure out what he was supposed to do, we couldn’t sort it out at first. He got in a tizz because he was worried he’d get in bother for not doing his work, I was getting stressed because I’d gone from expecting to be in work early (lots of others on leave) to then being late.

Managed to eventually get it sorted —after a fashion—. I got stuck in traffic in yet more temporary lights so my stress levels were through the roof and then a full day at work. So I’m a bit tired.

Poor MrApricot, but especially poor Apricot.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/10/2021 19:35

WineWineWine for Letus

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/10/2021 20:08

Poor MrApricot Sad

LetUsPrey · 22/10/2021 20:36

Thanks Wicked.

I need an early night.
