Afternoon. We did the four two mile walk to the school and back again, and on the way back it started raining, which was a bit of a pain as I'd left the bedding on the line. It had to go in the tumble dryer when we got home. Hmm

Hope your hamstring has imroved Helen.

Yay for February, Sprng can't be too far away now!

Evening wenches.

Ouch Helen! How is it now?

I’ve just whizzed through The Silent Patient and can recommend it. Quick chapters which I think helps.

Not quite as breezy here now but we had rain too.

Bit bored of people shouting at me on the phone again because people aren’t available/just not phoning callers back. You’re having a go at the wrong person.

I’m contemplating a bath’n’book.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/01/2022 20:55

Evening. Hamstring is still sore, but on the plus side, I finished painting DS' ceiling. Now I need to freshen up the walls and paint of the ceiling paint that's on the wall Confused

Yay for a nice walk Fancy - you've had better weather than us then!

I'm waiting for a nice day tomorrow so I can do a load of washing. That's a lie actually, I'll be doing the washing irrespective of weather.

for LetUs and to the stupid job and lack of support from work.

LetUsPrey · 01/02/2022 07:49

Morning wenches.

Dreary and rainy here.

Well done on all that painting Helen!

I need to book a sports massage as my neck, back and hips because ow.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2022 08:48

Morning all. Dreary here but no rain (yet)

Today DS is at home because school do not have enough teachers. Home-schooling ahoy. (He's already plugged into his x-box ) Can someone make a massively educational game about the core curriculum topics which will also involve quests and shooting demons? No?

HBFs have suggested that you lie down on the chaise LetUs and then'll give you a through examination

ApricotCrush · 01/02/2022 17:06

Afternoon. Sunny day but clouded over now. Typically I didn't do any washing and it will probably rain tomorrow.

Oh dear LetUs, hope your aches and pains get better soon.

Well done on the painting Helen.

Have a good evening all.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2022 19:14

Evening. I have done no painting today and made very little progress with work. I didn't do the laundry either. FML, etc.

Hope that LetUs has had a better day today.

LetUsPrey · 01/02/2022 20:10

Evening wenches.

Marginally better day today thanks.

Very flipping windy, proper howly stuff.

The idea for a computer game sounds like when I try to make all of DS2’s schoolwork relate to football to help him remember stuff.

FancyFancy · 01/02/2022 21:59

Evening
We clearly have similar parenting techniques letus - when DS was in primary school as well as learning their spelling each week they had to write a sentence using the word to be learnt. One of his teachers was an Arsenal fan, so we made every sentence slag off Arsenal, some of them required quite a bit of creativity Grin Fortunately she had a fab sense of humour - not for nothing was she known at teh school gates as The Lovely Miss Teacher*

Work mostly today, with a side order of calling the plumber as my hot water is on the blink. Still, the roadworks finished earlier than scheduled, so no detours today and the daylight is now almost 1.5 hours longer - hurrah!

FancyFancy · 01/02/2022 22:06

More reasons for hurrah

Swagger Inn 170. Autumn is here with a vengeance. I think we'll just hide under the duvet --with HBFs-- until Spring.
FancyFancy · 01/02/2022 23:08

That man has eight kids. EIGHT Shock No wonder - I can practically feel my menopausal ovaries getting a jump start just looking at that gif

LetUsPrey · 02/02/2022 07:43

Morning wenches.

Love the Arsenal spelling sentences Fancy Grin

Eight? Goodness. Should my next knitting project be baby clothes?

It doesn’t appear to be windy or raining. Am enjoying the afternoons and evenings getting lighter.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/02/2022 08:45

Morning.

Everything LetUs said about parenting techniques chez Fancy Grin with a side-order of 'Hurrah' for the roadworks finishing and the extra daylight. (On Monday, we were working out that by the end of the month, MondayNightSports will be in the light Grin )

Shock at Eight children - is he like Aramis? One 'Stare' and you're pregnant? Gosh. Eight....

We had a 'home schooling' lie-in this morning and now of course everything's running late because I still have to work and although I tried for an early night last night my brain wasn't very good at shutting down. So now I have spreadsheets etc to wrestle with and conversations like "Yes, I know it's not year end yet, but it will be very soon and we need to get this nailed down in advance. So HOW MUCH is this going to cost, and when?"

It's dreary and cloudy this morning. meh. etc.

Fingers crossed for a good day all round and an easily fixed boiler for Fancy

FancyFancy · 02/02/2022 14:41

Waiting to hear from the plumber still.....

Am working at home today as I am going out tonight with FancyMan to a comedy gig, very well timed as have had 2 deliveries today - one of which is a couple of new plants I ordered, so fingers crossed for ok weather at the weekend so I can plant them. Also, bin is nearly at 40 degrees - I am amazed. It also has a lot of worms in it somehow - you can tell the bin has been heating up as the worms climb towards the lid to cool down. I had to scoop some out to put them in the borders before they get baked Grin

ApricotCrush · 02/02/2022 16:54

Afternoon. We did the school walk again today. Halo We don't normally do Wednesdays but DGS's other Granny has an appointment.

Grin at the worms climbing up the bin to cool down Fancy. Hope the plumber gets in touch soon. Have a lovely evening at the gig.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 02/02/2022 18:20

Evening wenches.

You must be super fit by now Apricot!

Hope the plumber’s been by now Fancy. Loving the compost bin update! Have a fabulous time tonight.

at Aramis-esque method of conception Grin. You’ll need to use the Athos withering stare on the spreadsheet people.

Early finish today but then busy when I get home too.

Might do bath’n’book tonight. Need to decide which book I start next.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/02/2022 19:03

Confused at worms.

Having a problem with waking up around 5 in the morning and not being able to go back to sleep, very annoying.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/02/2022 19:04

Have fun tonight Fancy Wine

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/02/2022 21:20

Evening all.

Arghhhhhhh I am having circular arguments with HMRC over a form that they dealt with during lockdown and are now refusing to tell me the result of the calculations in it - while also asking me to fill in a different form that requires those figures. FMAL. I shall be directing the AthosWhitheringStare at them as well - in conjunction with a baseball bat. In addition DS is doing homework that he should have done during the day, and didn't, and now is finding that it's much harder than he expected. And he wants me to cut his hair tonight... F.M.L.

Hope that Fancy's plumber turned up and fixed the boiler, and the gig is fun. Those poor worms will get a bit of a shock to the system, going from the toasty composter to actual weather. Brrr. (Maybe Aramis has been staring at the composter? Overheating the compost and sending the worms to go forth and multiply. Grin )

Can I nominate Apricot to do exercise on my behalf? I didn't get out at all today (feeding the chickens doesn't count)

for Wicked re. waking up. it's bloody annoying when that happens. My brain has been going through a whirring away / not shutting down phase at bedtime. Doooooooooooooooooooom. etc.

LetUsPrey · 03/02/2022 07:44

Morning wenches.

Oh Helen, that sounds properly hard work. DS2 did similar with some homework the other night. Disappeared off to bed, back down a few minutes later.

Early waking happening here too Wicked. It’s rubbish.

Not quite as dark this morning.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/02/2022 07:56

Morning all. It's all clouded over here and gloomy out, though not raining. I tried to hang out washing yesterday but there was a very fine drizzle falling when I went out, so it got draped all over the house instead, (because there's not enough chaos and clutter already with the lack-of-painting that's going on). Still, that menas the washing got done at least.

Today is work and painting and (heaven help us) I have to sit on the phone for 100 million years trying to speak to call hmrc. Sad

ApricotCrush · 03/02/2022 17:38

Evening. We've been out to lunch today with Sis-in-law and BIL to celebrate DH's birthday which was last week. We go to the same place which is roughly in between our homes on each of our birthdays, but it's got a bit messy in the last two years and we've only seen them twice. Anyway it was nice to have a good natter.

at me being super fit LetUs. You should see me when I get out of bed in the morning, it's not a pretty sight.

That's so annoying WW, happens to me regularly.

Hope you sorted everything out with HMRC Helen and Fancy's plumber turned up.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/02/2022 20:39

Evening all. That sounds nice and relaxed Apricot

I have managed to sort out HMRC, but work has progressed at the speed of slug Sad

Fingers crossed for Fancy's boiler and that LetUs and wicked have had good days.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/02/2022 21:00

Went out to a greek restaurant tonight, the meat was a bit dry but part from that it was good.

Going on a girl’s shopping trip to Swedens favourite shopping destination, Ullared, in April, it’s a bustrip with an overnight stay at a hotel. Went there last time ten years ago and the place has doubled in size since then Smile

LetUsPrey · 03/02/2022 21:14

Evening wenches.

Shocker of a day at work followed by homework tribulations with DS2. So I’ve been out to Aldi, both of my local ones, and treated myself to a load of skin care stuff. I might be stressed to shit but I’ll hopefully look and smell nice.

Well done on sorting out the HMRC stuff Helen.

Hurrah for meal out and a natter Apricot. Is getting out of bed a case of just moving a bit at a time and hopefully it’ll all get coordinated by the time you get to the bathroom?

Hurrah for your meal too Wicked! Upcoming shopping trip sounds fun.

Are you fully boilered Fancy?
