Evening all. We are home. The weather was miserable all the way, but we managed to avoid the worst of the traffic jams.

Have opened more presents, including the Christmas classic of an excited "I know what this is!!!" Followed rapidly by disappointment when it wasn't what DS thought it was.

Argh at covid disruptions and fingers crossed for the abscess healing up quickly. Hope that you had fun despite the reduced numbers apricot.

Peace and quiet sounds lovely LetUs, as does *Fancy's night in. We're all just a bit knackered and suffering from Christmas anti-climax!

Today is tidying. I have already hoovered up copious blackbird feathers - KillerKitten has discovered birds. I haven't told DH, who will not be happy if the bird feeder is now just a glorified buffet bar. KK was properly defensive of the carcass too - all growly and 'mine!' I shoved him out the back door with it and have lobbed the remains in the hedge once he came back in (without it). This was some hours ago and KK is now on my lap being all purry and cute.

Don't worry LetUs - DS isn't at all hard done by - it was still lego, just not the set he wanted (because he did his xmas list far too late)

We might have a walk today, except, rain.

Afternoon. Tidying and clearing stuff away here too. DH has been at DD's mending a toilet as the pipe seems to have been attacked by something with teeth.

Oh dear, bad CuteKitten, although I suppose he's only doing what comes naturally.

Yay for relaxing days and peace and quiet but boo for work and ironing.

Have lazed around most of the day - promised myself I'd do some ebaying later and then a lazy evening of Homeland & maybe some online shopping using Christmas money. Am also debating whether to venture out to the sorting office this week - post services have been so bad here for weeks that people have resorted to picking their post up at the sorting office

I have done ebaying. (Buying though) About to sit down with tea and the latest Bond, having had a very dank and dreary walk on the beach. (Weather was dank and dreary - not the company.)

Work wasn’t horrendous and it’s a short day on a Wednesday. Went into town after work to get wool from the market. Stall was either shuttered or completely empty, I’m not sure which stall it is. Either way, no wool.

Ah those heady days of high metabolic rate when I could eat what I wanted and not put on weight. I feel your pain Helen.

Daaaaaark but not raining. Our NYE plans have been cancelled because Covid. I was looking forward to it but not devastated. I’ve never been particularly fussed about NYE.

I got woken up by a dream about being on a viewing platform to watch waves and then a tsunami sized wave crashed over us and we had to hold breath/swim. Not sure if I got to the surface but I didn't feel much like going back to sleep after that. Though since DS couldn't get to sleep last night (appeared at midnight) and ended up in with us 1am -3:30, I think I could do with more sleep.

Hope work is bearable for LetUs and Wicked, and everyone else has a good day. I have to do things with ladders and gutters.

Morning, took advantage of it not raining yesterday to go for a walk with FancyMan - very welcome as I also can no longer eat endlessly without expanding. And yay, we actually got post today - some Christmas cards and two presents I'd ordered for the DC, good job we haven't had our 'Christmas' yet....

Afternoon - Kitten belted past me on the way to the chickens this morning and was up and down and "Rescue meeeeeeeeeee" on the trees. So he's had some exercise and is now sleeping it all off before going hypter this evening and being an utter pain. (He and IntelligentCat are even more at loggerheads than they were before )

Hurrah for walks - I'm about to grab my torch and yomp up the road. It's not cold at all (not even up a ladder hoiking moss and crud out of the gutter)
